A motor includes a coming-off preventing portion including an inner circumferential edge defining a through hole, inside which a substantially cylindrical bearing housing is inserted, and being arranged axially above an insulator. The inner circumferential edge has at least two different radial dimensions. A boss portion includes a columnar portion inserted inside the through hole, and a collar portion extending radially outward from a lower end of the columnar portion. The collar portion includes an outside surface having at least two different radial dimensions, and an upper surface arranged axially opposite a bottom portion of the inner circumferential edge. The radial dimensions of the inner circumferential edge and those of the collar portion are arranged to allow the collar portion to be axially inserted through the inner circumferential edge only when the inner circumferential edge and the collar portion are arranged in a predetermined circumferential orientation relative to each other.

An impeller includes an impeller cup and a plurality of blades. The impeller cup is hollow and generally cylindrical and has a lid. A housing is formed to enclose the impeller from the outside thereof. The housing has a wall defining a passage of an airflow generated by rotation of the impeller. At axial ends of the passage are formed an air inlet and an air outlet, respectively. The wall is provided with an air-inlet side portion which has an inner diameter increasing toward the air inlet. An axially upper end of a radially outer edge of each blade axially projects toward the air inlet beyond the lid of the impeller cup, and is located to be covered by the air-inlet side portion when seen from the outside in the radial direction. An axially upper end of a radially inner edge of each blade is located on a base portion side of the lid of the impeller cup. An axially upper edge of each blade is at an angle with respect to the axial direction so as to get close to the base portion in a direction from the radially outer edge of each blade to a radially inner edge.

A motor includes a rotor and a stator. A shaft of the rotor is received in a sleeve. A face of the sleeve and a face of the shaft, that are opposed to each other, form a bearing supporting the rotor in a rotatable manner relative to the stator. A sleeve-retaining portion that retains the sleeve has a bottom portion opposed to an axial end of the sleeve. A magnet holder is arranged in the bottom portion to accommodate an attracting magnet magnetically attracting the axial end of the shaft. The magnet holder is held between the axial end of the sleeve and the bottom portion of the sleeve-retaining portion.

Bearing unit furnished with a bearing retaining part, the bearing retaining part formed from a single, seamless component and furnished with a cylindrical section disposed on the outer periphery of a sleeve of the bearing unit, and with a bottom section closing over the sleeve and the cylindrical section along their undersides. An attracting magnet is disposed on the bottom-section side of the bearing retainer, for magnetically attracting axis-wise the lower-end portion of a shaft of the bearing unit. A magnet holder, formed from a magnetic material, is disposed on the underside of the attracting magnet, with the magnet holder being attached to the bearing retainer.
