Provided is a thermally sensitive recording medium which exhibits high recording sensitivity, high heat resistance of ground color part and excellent preserving stability of images. A thermally sensitive recording medium, comprising a thermally sensitive recording layer containing a colorless or pale colored basic colorless dye and an organic color developing agent as main components on a substrate, wherein said thermally sensitive recording layer contains at least one compound represented by general formula (1) and contains at least one compound selected from the group consisting of 3-{[(phenylamino)carbonyl]amino}benzensulfoneamide represented by formula (2), an ureaurethane compound represented by formula (3) and a copolymer of glysidilmethacrylate and vinyl monomer (average molecular weight is 9000-11000, epoxy equivalent is 300-600 and melting point is 110&#xb0; C. or less) as a stabilizer. (in the formula, Ris a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, an alkyl group or alkoxy group) As a color developing agent a compound represented by general formula (4) is desirable. (in the formula, Ris an alkyl group of carbon number 1-4, an alkoxy group, a phenyl group or a hydrogen atom).

Thermal recording medium

A thermally sensitive recording medium containing a thermally sensitive recording medium providing an undercoating layer containing a pigment and a binder as main components and a thermally sensitive recording layer containing a colorless or pale colored basic leuco dye and a color developing agent, which reacts with said basic leuco dye, as main components on a substrate, wherein the undercoating layer contains carboxymethyl cellulose having an etherification degree of from 0.55 to 0.75 and hydroxyethyl cellulose from the view point of high effectiveness.

Thermally sensitive recording medium

A thermally sensitive recording medium which has good printability and surface glossness, by forming a glossing layer on a thermally sensitive recording layer on a substrate, and said glossing layer contains an inorganic pigment and a fixing composition which does not cause sticking at higher temperature than 200&deg; C., and the surface glossiness of the glossing layer based on JIS-P-8142 in which angle of incidence and angle of reflect is 75 degree is bigger than 50%.

A thermally sensitive recording medium which has thermally sensitive recording layer containing colorless or pale colored basic leuco dye and organic color developer as main components on a substrate, wherein said thermally sensitive recording layer contains diphenylsulfone bridgeable type compound represented by general formula (1) and at least one compound represented by general formula (1).
