A communication system includes: a base station device that performs wireless communication with a mobile terminal; a gateway device that is connected to the base station device and provides the mobile terminal via the base station device with a connection path to a network; an authentication server that is connected to the gateway device and issues an authentication key to the mobile terminal via the gateway device and the base station device; and a position search server which outputs a request requesting determination of position of the mobile terminal, wherein, the authentication server identifies the authentication unit from the first registration table, and outputs the request to the identified authentication unit, the authentication unit identifies the data path unit or paging controller unit from the second registration table, and the position search server obtains position information of the mobile terminal from the identified data path unit or paging controller unit.

A parameter setting change method for a system that performs multicast distribution from an information distribution apparatus to a plurality of mobile stations via a relay node is provided. In the method, a parameter adjustment setting apparatus analyzes a data reception state output from the plurality of mobile stations and calculates an information-distribution-apparatus setting-change parameter and a relay-node setting-change parameter for making the data reception state within a predetermined range. Then, when the information distribution apparatus can be set to the information-distribution-apparatus setting-change parameter, the relay node performs setting change to the relay-node setting-change parameter.

A communication method in a gateway apparatus includes a transmission step of transmitting and receiving packets to and from a mobile station device, and transmitting and receiving packets to and from a home agent; and a setting step of establishing settings such that the packets from the mobile station device can be transmitted to at least a first and a second home agent, and the packets from at least the first and second home agents can be received.

In a connection oriented mode communication system, a communication connection is established as an alternative connection substitutive for a currently working communication connection so that the alternative connection connects the couple of node apparatus connected through the currently working communication connection to each other by way of a route physically different from that of the currently working communication connection. A routing apparatus comprises a resource management unit holding resource management information for managing a state of use of a communication resource in another routing apparatus that can be an adjacent routing apparatus transferred a packet data. When packet data for a reservation request is received, a determining unit determines the adjacent routing apparatus on the basis of destination information given to the packet data and the resource management information in the resource management unit to control a routing (packet transfer). A routing process at the time of reception of a request for reserving a resource (communication resource) is performed in consideration of a state of use of a resource in the adjacent routing apparatus, thereby preventing a wasteful routing at the time of resource reservation.
