Provided is a positive electrode for a lithium ion secondary battery which includes a positive electrode active material layer including a positive electrode active material that is provided to at least one surface of a positive electrode current collector. The positive electrode active material includes a lithium nickel cobalt manganese composite oxide mixture containing two or more kinds of lithium nickel cobalt manganese composite oxides. An average primary particle diameter of the lithium nickel cobalt manganese composite oxide mixture is in a range of 0.4 micrometers or more and 2 micrometers or less. An average secondary particle diameter of the lithium nickel cobalt manganese composite oxide mixture is in a range of 4 micrometers or more and 12 micrometers or less. The positive electrode active material layer includes a conductive agent in a range of 1 to 5% based on a weight of the positive electrode active material layer.

A mixed electrode for a nonaqueous electrolyte battery includes: a first active material; a second active material that reacts with water more easily than the first active material; an organic moisture capture agent; and an organic binder that binds the first active material and the second active material. The organic moisture capture agent is present in the organic binder and the first active material has a smaller specific surface area than the second active material. Thus, the storability of the mixed electrode is improved and when the mixed electrode is applied to the battery, the cycle characteristics of the battery are improved.

Mixed electrode for nonaqueous electrolyte battery, and manufacturing method for the same

A lithium-ion secondary cell according to the present invention is provided with a positive electrode and a negative electrode. The positive electrode contains a lithium-manganese composite oxide partially substituted by magnesium as a positive electrode active material. The negative electrode contains a graphite coated with amorphous carbon as a negative electrode active material, a carbon black-based conductive aid and a fluororesin-based binding agent.

A nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery includes a power generating element including a positive electrode having a positive electrode active material layer and a negative electrode having a negative electrode active material layer. A main plane having the smaller area, between a main plane of the positive electrode active material layer and a main plane of the negative electrode active material layer, has an approximately rectangular shape with a short side having a length of 132 mm or more. The positive electrode active material layer and the negative electrode active material layer are provided such that the main plane of the positive electrode active material layer and the main plane of the negative electrode active material layer face each other with a separator interposed therebetween, and the positive electrode active material layer contains a binder in an amount of 2 mass % or more and 3.5 mass % or less.
