A composite hose is constructed to have an outer peripheral portion and an inner peripheral portion. The outer peripheral portion includes an elastic layer and a reinforcing layer provided on an outer periphery of the elastic layer. The inner peripheral portion includes a corrugated metal tube which is provided with a corrugated portion formed with corrugation hills and corrugation valleys. A distance between the reinforcing layer and tops of the corrugation hills of the corrugated metal tube is designed 0.27 mm or less.

A refrigerant transportation hose having excellent flexibility and high resistance to permeation of refrigerant. The refrigerant transportation hose includes an innermost layer formed by using polyamide resin, a low-permeation layer formed on an outer peripheral surface of the innermost layer and rubber layers (of an inner rubber layer and an outer rubber layer) formed on an outer peripheral surface of the low-permeation layer, wherein the low-permeation layer is a resin film in thickness of 5 to 100 &#x3bc;m made of polyvinyl alcohol having a degree of saponification of not less than 90%.

Refrigerant transportation hose

A composite hose with a corrugated metal tube has a hose body having a corrugated metal tube and an outer layer. The corrugated metal tube includes a non-corrugated straight-walled portion on an end portion thereof, and a rigid insert pipe is inserted in the straight-walled portion. A socket fitting is fitted on the hose body by being swaged thereon radially inwardly, and an inner circumferential end portion of the collar portion and an outer circumferential surface of the insert pipe compress an extending portion of the straight-walled portion to fix the straight-walled portion onto the insert pipe and provide a seal between the outer circumferential surface of the insert pipe and an inner circumferential surface of the straight-walled portion. A fracture preventing mechanism is provided on a hose end portion for preventing fracture of the straight-walled portion.

The present invention relates to a metallic tubular hose which suppresses disintegration in which the metallic tubular hose comprises a hose body having a longitudinal edge at one end thereof and a bellows metallic tube inner layer with the inner layer composed of a corrugated bellows portion and a restricted portion, a jacket composed of a plurality of layers surrounding the inner layer, a rigid insert pipe extending into the hose body and a metallic sleeve engaging the hose body along said longitudinal edge for compressing said jacket against said rigid insert pipe wherein said plurality of layers in said jacket includes an inner layer adjacent to said restricted portion of said bellows metallic tube inner layer composed of a flexible and hard material possessing a tensile modulus of between 4 MPa and 8 MPa for a composition of rubber and about 300 MPa for a resin material composition and preferably between 1000 MPa and 6000 MPa.

A composite hose comprises a corrugated metal tube as barrier layer against permeation of conveyed fluid and a reinforcing layer which is formed by braiding a reinforcing wire member made of a metal wire. A braid density of the reinforcing layer is 55% or less.

A composite hose is provided with a corrugated metal tube as a barrier layer against permeation of conveyed fluid, and an elastic filler layer which is filled in valley gaps between corrugation hills on an outer peripheral side of the corrugated metal tube. The elastic filler layer is filled completely in the valley gaps to tops of the corrugation hills. A radial thickness of the elastic filler layer measured radially outwardly from a radial position of the tops of the corrugation hills is designed 0.3 mm or less.

In a hose with a corrugated metal tube, an axial leading end portion of the corrugated metal tube is configured as an extending portion so as to extend in an axial direction beyond a base portion of a socket fitting and be exposed out of an outer layer of the hose. The extending portion is clamped by an inner end surface of the base portion and an outer surface of a rigid insert pipe.

A composite hose is provided with a corrugated metal tube of an inner layer and rubber filler which is filled in valley gaps between corrugation hills on an outer peripheral side of the corrugated metal tube. A tubular hard resin layer is further provided as cover layer on an outer side of the corrugated metal tube in order to enclose the rubber filler within the valley gaps to prevent the rubber filler from escaping radially outwardly.

A socket fitting is swaged onto the hose body at three axially spaced points. The corrugated metal tube is provided with a flattened end portion. A proximal end of the flattened end portion extends for a minimum of 10 mm. axially away (in the direction of the complete corrugations) from the swaged point which is axially most proximate to the proximal end of the flattened end portion.

A fluid-impermeable composite hose has a wall including a laminated layer formed by longitudinally lapping a laminated sheet which contains a metallic foil, or a metallic layer formed by vapor deposition. The laminated layer is bound with thread wound about it at a density not exceeding 20%, and bound to an extent forming constrictions therein if required. The thread prevents the deformation in cross section of the hose and the separation of the overlapping edge portions of the laminated sheet which might otherwise be caused by the bending resistance of the laminated sheet. The constrictions improve the flexibility of the hose.
