An optical connector includes a holder configured to hold at least three or more optical connector plugs. The optical connector plugs and the adapters are arranged in an intersecting direction intersecting with a connecting direction. The optical connector plugs include a first optical connector plug and a second optical connector plug. Any of the first optical connector plug and the adapter to which the first optical connector plug is connected has a latch mechanism configured to engage the first optical connector plug with the adapter. Any of the second optical connector plug and the adapter to which the second optical connector plug is connected does not have a latch mechanism configured to engage the second optical connector plug with the adapter.

An optical connector plug includes an optical connector having an optical fiber built therein, and a cover member receiving the optical connector therein. The cover member includes a set of protrusions provided to protrude forward relative to a front end surface of the optical connector. A set of cutout portions as space portions are provided between the set of protrusions, and the set of cutout portions are arranged at locations opposing each other around the optical connector.

The optical connector in accordance with an embodiment comprises a ferrule for holding a built-in fiber to be coupled to a coated optical fiber of an optical cord, a first housing for containing the ferrule, a second housing arranged behind the first housing, and a sheath pressing member and a securing member which are mounted to the second housing. The sheath pressing member presses a sheath of the optical cord against the second housing. The securing member secures a tension fiber of the optical cord to the second housing so as to contain the sheath pressing member.

An optical connector assembling method capable of preventing workability from worsening is provided. First, when assembling the optical connector, an optical cord () is passed through a rear housing (), an outer jacket holding member (), a securing member (), and a boot (), and an outer jacket () is removed from a leading end portion of the optical cord (), so as to expose a coated optical fiber () and a tension-resistant fiber (). A handled dust cap (A) is mounted to a ferrule member () holding a built-in fiber. Then, a fusion splicer fusion-splices the built-in fiber and the coated optical fiber () to each other. Thereafter, while the ferrule member () keeps the handled dust cap (A) mounted thereto, a plug housing () is assembled to the rear housing (). Then, the outer jacket holding member () and securing member () secure the outer jacket () and tension-resistant fiber () to the rear housing (), and the boot () is mounted to the securing member (). Finally, a handle () is cut off from the handled dust cap (A).

An imaging device is provided for reproducing light incident thereto as an image. The image device included a photodetector adapted to translate incident light of an image to a representative electronic signal. A white balance control configures the white balance of the representative electronic signal in accordance with a white balance gain value. A selector interface is operably linked to the white balance control. The selector interface selects among a plurality of predetermined values to set the white balance gain value in accordance with an imaging application. An adjustment interface adjusts the selected value of the plurality of predetermined values. A display of the imaging device provides information of the set value. The information includes a variable range of the set white balance gain value, the variable range including an indication the selected value of the plurality of predetermined values and a graphical representation thereof, relative to the degree of adjustment applied via the adjustment interface.

An image forming apparatus having at least two of a plurality of functions including copying, facsimile and printer functions includes a main power switch that is provided on an outer surface of the apparatus and a cover to cover the main power switch. The cover is capable of opening and closing. Because the main power switch cannot be operated unless the cover is opened, when a user inadvertently tries to turn off the main power switch, for example, at the end of a day, the user must first touch the cover and is thereby reminded that the switch which the user is trying to turn off, is actually the main power switch for the apparatus. Thus, the main power switch is prevented from being inadvertently or unconsciously turned off.
