A snowmobile is provided with airbag systems including airbag bodies expanding from a portion near a steering handle bar respectively, one of the airbag bodies expanding rearward of a handle bar and outward of both the ends of the handle bar, and the other airbag body expanding toward a front side of rider's knees. Another airbag system includes an airbag body expanding from an upper surface of an engine hood on the front portion of a vehicle body frame and blowing up toward a windshield of the engine hood. The respective airbag systems are detachable from the vehicle body, and hence, can be stored indoors.

An engine unit is supported by a body frame, and a front body portion is covered with a cowling. This cowling is made wider than the body frame to form a space in the vehicle widthwise direction between the body frame and cowling, and an air, cleaner unit is accommodated in this space. The air cleaner unit has a substantially flat filter, a filter support portion, and a filter insertion hole. The attachment direction of the filter is set in its longitudinal direction, and the filter insertion hole is formed in a position corresponding to the end face of the filter when it is attached. The filter, the filter support portion, and air cleaner lid member divide the air cleaner main body into a clean chamber and dirty chamber.

Air intake system structure of scooter type vehicle

In a motorcycle, an engine is arranged at a lower portion of substantially a center portion of a motorcycle body between a front wheel, a rear wheel and a fuel tank is arranged above the engine and the motorcycle is provided with a fuel pump unit. The engine has a plurality of cylinders and is formed at a rear portion thereof with an intake port to which an air-fuel fuel mixture supply means is connected and the fuel pump for supplying fuel in the fuel tank to the air-fuel mixture supply means is attached integrally to the air-fuel mixture supply means.

Fuel pump unit of motorcycle

A V-type engine has front (first) and rear (second) cylinders being offset to sides opposite from each other. The front (first) and rear (second) carburetors are mounted in alignment with the centers of the front and rear cylinders, respectively. The body of the front carburetor and the body of the rear carburetor are coupled to each other by linkage plates arranged in parallel with the line that joins the center of the front carburetor and that of the rear carburetor. The throttle shaft of the front carburetor and the throttle shaft of the rear carburetor are laid out perpendicular to the linkage plates and coupled to each other by means of a coupling linkage which is in parallel with the linkage plates. A throttle cable is connected to the throttle shaft of the front carburetor.

Intake device for a V-type engine

A motorcycle has a head pipe supporting a steering shaft, a pair of bilateral main frame pipes having front ends fixed to the head pipe and extending rearward therefrom, an engine unit disposed below the main frame pipes and having cylinders projecting obliquely forward from an engine casing, an air cleaner covered by an air cleaner casing which is disposed between both the main frame pipes, and intake devices extending upward from the cylinders and having air intake inlet portions inserted into the air cleaner casing. The air cleaner casing has a bottom portion to which a downwardly protruded portion is formed at a rear position of the intake devices, and the main frame pipes are connected through a first coupling member disposed between the intake devices and the protruded portion of the air cleaner casing. The air cleaner casing is formed with a recessed portion at the bottom portion thereof, and the recessed portion has a shape suitable for accommodating the first coupling member. A pair of bilateral head frame pipes are further provided so as to be fixed at the front ends thereof to the head pipe and extending rearward therefrom below the location of the main frame pipes, and second coupling members connecting the first coupling member to each of the head frame pipes are also arranged.

Motorcycle

An intake apparatus of an internal combustion engine for a vehicle comprises a duct for taking into a wind during a running of a vehicle, an air cleaner operatively connected to the duct, a fuel supply device for injecting a fuel into an intake air coming from the air cleaner, a movable valve arranged between an outlet port of the duct and an inlet port of the air cleaner, a negative-pressure motor for driving the movable valve, and an electronic control unit for controlling the movable valve. The electronic control unit is connected to an ignition means, and the electronic control unit controls the opening and closing of the movable valve in accordance with a rotational speed of an internal combustion engine, an opening degree of a throttle of the engine and a gear position of the engine as control parameters and carries out a delay angular control of an ignition timing in response to the opening and closing control of the movable valve.
