The present invention includes a repeater and a server for controlling access, from a terminal of an outside network, to the server of an inside network. The repeater and the server permit a packet transmission from the terminal to the server under limited conditions. When the server acknowledges a connection for the permitted packet, transmission conditions for packets to be sent to the server are loosened. Subsequently, packet transmission between the terminal and the server is controlled under the loosened transmission conditions. As for encrypted packets, the server decodes the encrypted packets and notifies the repeater of relevant information.

Access-controlling method, repeater, and server

A resource management server that manages information concerning the resource reservation status and the information of groups of all electronic equipments connected to hubs. When an electronic equipment is newly connected to a port of one of the hubs, the electronic equipment issues a resource request and the group information to the resource management server. The resource management server sets up a network path between the newly connected electronic equipment and the other electronic equipments belonging to the same group as the newly connected electronic equipment, and judges if the resource request can be accepted on the setup network path.

Resource management system

A terminal comprises a packet receiving unit, a packet sending unit, a link-state detecting unit that detects a link-up to a switching device, a configuration-change notifying unit, and a resource reservation table. When the link-state detecting unit detects a link-up, the terminal notifies network configuration information and network resource reservation information to a management device. When a link state is changed, the management device can immediately manage the network based on the latest network configuration information and the latest network resource information.

Communication system and its terminal

Access points for supporting wireless communications, a packet transmission device, and terminals for handing-over between service areas are provided. An existing terminal is provided with respect to this access point for performing a Quality of Source (QoS) guarantee. Accordingly, when a new terminal is handed over to be engaged in wireless communications with this access point, the priority of the packet associated with the existing terminal and/or new terminal is changed.

The communication system supports reservation of network resources. The base stations relay packets among the terminals, and perform priority control based on the priority set to the packets. In the terminal, the communication-managing table stores communication information of own terminal and a partner thereof. The packet-transmitting unit, setting priority to the packets, transmits the packets. When link condition of own terminal change, the link-managing unit updates, in order to prevent from quality deterioration of the other terminals, the priority of each of the packets whose source terminal is the own terminal.

A justification/authentication personal certificate system stores in a remote database a counterpart of an identifier and a digital watermark contained in the personal certificate. The personal certificate includes the digital watermark embedded in an authentic image such as a facial photograph, a retinal scan, or a fingerprint. When the personal certificate is used, the authentic image is read from the personal certificate, and the digital watermark information is extracted. The digital watermark information and the identifier are compared with the counterparts stored in the database. If the extracted digital watermark information is identical to the information in the database, then the personal certificate is judged to be unjustifiable. In one embodiment, at least one of the identifier and digital watermark are changed each time the system justifies the personal certificate.

Justification authenticating system, personal certificate issuing system, and personal certificate

A packet transmission apparatus transfers arriving packets directly to a highest-priority queue under non-congestion conditions, and classifies the priority of a packet only on the existence of congestion. In one embodiment, non-congestion is determined when all queues are empty. In another embodiment, congestion or non-congestion is determined by upper and lower thresholds on the total number of packets in all queues. The ability to omit classifying incoming packets in the non-congestion condition improves processing speed, and eliminates the need for re-queuing or packet-replacing operations.

Apparatus and method for packet transmission

A data terminal equipment retrieves index data indicating content data. Then, the data terminal equipment authenticates the content data based on the index data. Only if the authenticity of the content data has been confirmed, the data terminal equipment retrieves the content data from a first server.

An address management apparatus includes a storage unit for storing a table showing the correspondence between data link layer and network layer addresses, a first search unit for searching the table for an unused data link layer address, a second search unit for searching the table for a network layer address corresponding to a specified data link layer address, and an instruction unit for transmitting an instruction including the unused data link layer address to a terminal specified by the detected network layer address. The apparatus also includes an updation unit for updating the correspondence between the data link layer and the network layer addresses on the table according to the instruction, a detection unit for detecting the instruction to obtain the data link layer address, and a setting unit for setting the data link layer address obtained by the detection unit in the self terminal.

Address management apparatus and address management method

A color correction device for correcting colors in a color image, comprising: standard point registration means for registering coordinates of a standard point on a color space for at least one color to be used as a standard for color correction; object point registration means for registering coordinates of an object point on the color space which corresponds to a standard point and which is a desired color after color correction; and coordinate conversion means for determining a mapping function based on the standard point and the object point, and for generating a corrected color image by using the mapping function to convert pre-correction points on the color space which are equivalent to a color of each pixel in an inputted pre-correction image. By means of the construction described above, all of the colors in a color space can be converted based on at least one pair of standard point and object point. As a result, precise color correction can be easily achieved.
