A pre-determination process is executed for setting a person determination detection frame in a moving body detection frame surrounding a moving body region detected from an image and determining whether the image in the person determination detection frame is a person and a final determination process of analyzing a distribution state in a moving body detection frame determined to include a person in the pre-determination process and finally determining whether the image in the person determination detection frame is a person based on an analysis result. In the final determination process, an occupancy rate in a specific region in the moving body detection frame determined to include a person in the pre-determination process is calculated, and the image in the person determination detection frame is determined to be a person based on the occupancy rate.

Image processing apparatus, image processing system, and image processing method

Provided are an apparatus and a method for executing a person detection process from an image. A divisional small region setting window is set and an image in the window is determined to be a person based on the number of moving body pixels of each divisional small region, and a first person candidate point is set in the window when the image is determined to be a person. A person determination process is executed based on an image feature quantity in a person determination detection frame, and a second person candidate point is set in the person determination detection frame when it is determined to be a person. A distribution state in a moving body detection frame of the person determination detection frame is analyzed, and an image in the person determination detection frame is determined to be a person based on an analysis result.

The surveillance areas of cameras registered on a map having a surveillance region set thereon are projected onto the map. The shortest paths between the cameras registered on the map are searched for. Links between the cameras are determined based on the surveillance areas of the cameras projected on the map and the shortest paths between the cameras detected on the map. Unlike a conventional technique by which link information is manually acquired, this technique does not require a surveillance object to walk around so as to be actually captured by all the cameras, and can be applied even in a case where there is congestion in the surveillance region. Accordingly, the load on the user can be reduced.
