In a tray feeder, in which a drawing section draws a palette from a container and supplies the palette to a pick-up point where a pick-up head of a parts-mounting-apparatus picks up parts, the head starts lowering and halts at a stand-by position before the palette held by the drawing section arrives at the pick-up point. When the drawing section arrives at the pick-up point, the head lowers again from the stand-by position. This mechanism reduces a time necessary for picking up a part.

Part-supplying tray feeder and method of picking-up parts in the tray

An electronic parts mounting method in which chips in a plurality of parts feeders are picked up respectively by at least three nozzles, and a lowered mounting efficiency is avoided when any of the nozzles becomes bad, thereby mounting the chips on a board with a good operation efficiency. In a normal condition, the chips in the parts feeders are simultaneously picked up respectively by the first, second and third nozzles, and are transferred to and mounted on the board. When any of the three nozzles becomes bad, the mounting of the chips by this bad nozzle is stopped while the mounting of the chips by the other normal nozzles is effected as scheduled in a program, and thereafter those chips scheduled to be mounted by the bad nozzle are mounted by the normal nozzles. Therefore, the number of the pick-up operations is reduced as much as possible, so that the mounting efficiency can be enhanced.

Method of and apparatus for mounting electronic parts

There is disclosed an electronic parts mounting method in which it is possible to avoid a pick-up mistake for electronic parts (chips) in simultaneously picking up the chips respectively stored in juxtaposed parts feeders by a plurality of nozzles provided to a transfer head. Nozzle position data of first, second and third nozzles 9a, 9b and 9c are beforehand obtained by a first camera, and pick-up positions of the chips in parts feeders 4 are obtained by a second camera. After picking up respectively the chips in the parts feeders 4 by the nozzles 9a to 9c it is judged whether or not there would be caused the pick-up mistake. When it is judged there is caused no pick-up mistake, a transfer head is moved to a position above a board and each of the chips is mounted to the board. When it is judged there is caused any pick-up mistake, a pick-up mistake rate of any of the parts feeders in which the pick-up mistake occurs, is updated and each of the chips is picked up again by the nozzle which caused the pick-up mistake.

Method and apparatus for mounting parts with pick-up mistake detection

A first camera detects a positional relationship among first, second and third nozzles. A second camera detects pick-up positions of chips in parts feeders. Tolerance zones for the respective chips are determined, within which the nozzle can pick up the chip. When one of nozzles is placed in the corresponding pick-up position, it is judged whether or not other nozzles are located within the corresponding tolerance zones, respectively. If the judgment result is 'YES', the nozzles pick up the chips simultaneously , and if this result is 'NO', the nozzles pick up the chips separately.

Method of and apparatus for mounting electronic parts on a board

A tape driving mechanism for a magnetic recording apparatus has a capstan rotated to advance a magnetic tape by pinching the magnetic tape between the capstan and a pinch roller. The pinch roller is pressed onto the magnetic tape against the capstan. The capstan surface is coated with a diamond-like carbon film which is smooth and highly wear-resistant. The difference between the tangential speed of the capstan and the tape transfer speed is almost zero. Thus, the state of contact is static. A static frictional coefficient between the diamond-like carbon film of the capstan and the magnetic tape is almost equal to twice the static frictional coefficient between the metal surface of the capstan and the magnetic tape in the conventional tape driving mechanism. The tape driving force thus remains sufficient even if the pressure exerted by the pinch roller is reduced to half the value employed in the conventional tape driving mechanism. The diamond-like carbon film may be coated on a rough surface of the capstan.

An image read apparatus for reading an image on a document which includes a reciprocatively movable document placing plate for placing thereon the document, a document placing plate driving mechanism for driving the document placing plate and an image reader for reading the image information on the document. The document placing plate is movable reciprocatively between a first position where the document placing plate is housed completely in the image read apparatus and a second position where the document placing plate projects outwardly from the image read apparatus to thereby enable the document to be placed thereon. The image read apparatus sequentially reads the image information on the document between each sequential movement of the document placing plate from the second position to the first position. Preferably, a document holding member such as a flexible sheet or an endless belt is provided for pressing the document onto the document placing plate within the image read apparatus.

A tape cassette which can be recorded and played back on both sides or in opposite directions has a lid having a pair of side arms pivotally mounted on lateral sides of a cassette casing for opening and closing a front opening in the cassette casing. The lid is normally held in a closed position by means of springs which normally urge pivot pins on the side arms toward a rear side of the cassette casing. The tape cassette also has protective plates integrally projecting in a forward direction from the lateral sides of the cassette casing in covering relation to the side arms, respectively. The protective plate protects the side arms against intentional or accidental engagement with a finger or a cassette recorder, thereby preventing the lid from being easily opened. The cassette recorder for use with the tape cassette includes abutments for engaging distal ends of the protective plates for accurately positioning the tape casette as inserted in the cassette recorder.

A magnetic head is fixedly mounted on the cassette holder in a cassette tape recorder. When a tape cassette is inserted into the cassette holder, a magnetic tape is brought into contact with the front face of the magnetic head through an access opening in the tape cassette. In response to selection of stop, fast-forward, and rewind modes of operation, a pad shifter disposed on the cassette holder adjacent to the magnetic head is moved to displace a pad in the tape cassette out of pressed contact with the magnetic tape. When in a recording or playback mode of operation, the pad shifter is retracted to allow the pad to resiliently press the magnetic tape against the magnetic head. The tape recorder is rendered small in size particularly in the transverse direction of the tape cassette inserted.

A cassette tape recording and/or reproducing apparatus have a cassette holder including a cassette chamber and a cover plate for selectively opening and closing the cassette chamber. A pair of spindles for the support thereon of the reel hubs within the cassette have respective signal transmitting elements axially extending therethrough for transmitting to an associated switch a signal indicating that a corresponding one of the function control buttons has been manipulated. Each of these signal transmitting elements may be either an axially movable motion transmitting rod or a rod-shaped electric conductor. The corresponding function control buttons at least one for each spindle are provided on the cover plate at such positions as they align with the spindles when the cover plate is in the closed position.
