In a core for a rotary electric machine, first end portions of back yoke portions are linked to second end portions of back yoke portions of adjacent core segments so as to be rotatable around pivot portions. Each of the core segments is configured by alternately laminating first core segment sheets and second core segment sheets. The pivot portions are constituted by interfitting protruding portions that are formed on the first core segment sheets. The core segments are displaceable relative to the adjacent core segments between a contracted position in which spacing between the magnetic pole tooth portions is contracted and an expanded position in which spacing between the magnetic pole tooth portions is expanded, when the core segment linked body is opened out rectilinearly.

In a rotary electric machine laminated core, a rotating shaft portion is disposed closer to an outer circumferential surface than an inner circumferential surface of a back yoke portion. A notch portion is disposed on at least one of first and second end portions of the back yoke portion so as to form a gap between a vicinity of the rotating shaft portion of a projecting portion and a recess portion when core segments are arranged in an annular shape or a circular arc shape. The first end portion and the second end portion of the back yoke portion are configured such that a predetermined gap that connects from the outer circumferential side to the inner circumferential side is formed between adjacent projecting portions and recess portions when the core segments are expanded rectilinearly such that magnetic pole tooth portions are parallel to each other.

Provided is a method for fabricating a molded stator of a rotary electric machine, the method comprising: a lamination step of laminating a plurality of core sheets each having a plurality of core pieces connected to one joining portion via bridge portions, thereby forming a divided-laminated-core group structure; a winding step of winding a coil on a teeth portion of each divided laminated core of the divided-laminated-core group structure; a cutting step of cutting the bridge portions, thereby separating the divided laminated cores wound with the coils; a temporary fixing step of temporarily fixing the divided laminated cores circularly arranged to form a stator; and a molding step of placing, in a mold, the stator into which a mold mandrel is inserted along the inner circumferential surface, and molding an outer circumferential surface of the stator with resin.

A laminated core block includes a plurality of core members made of magnetic sheets stacked one on top of another, the plurality of core members including first and second core members which adjoin in a laminating direction, and a thermoplastic resin strand placed between the first and second core members. The thermoplastic resin strand is arranged to pass along one side surface of the first core member, between the first and second core members and along a side surface of the second core member on a side opposite to the aforementioned side surface of the first core member in this order. The first and second core members are bonded to each other by melting and curing the thermoplastic resin strand.

This invention includes a transferable metal die unit () including a die having a cavity of a desired cross-sectional shape in which magnet molding material powder is filled, the cavity extending in groovelike form in a specific direction on a surface of the die, a lid member placed to cover the cavity, and a pair of punches having the same cross-sectional shape as the cavity, the punches being capable of fitting in the cavity from both ends thereof and made slidable in directions in which the punches go into contact with and become separated from the magnet molding material powder, pressurizing means () for holding the metal die unit () which has been transferred with the magnet molding material powder filled in the cavity and for pressurizing the magnet molding material powder by driving the two punches such that the punches slide in their approaching directions, and magnetic field generating means () for magnetizing the pressurized magnet molding material powder while applying a magnetic field thereto in a direction perpendicular to a direction of pressurization.
