To provide an operation support system capable of performing evidence recording of each of performed operations, an operation support system includes a first image pickup apparatus configured to mainly acquire movie data, a second image pickup apparatus configured to mainly acquire still image data, a control apparatus configured to control the first image pickup apparatus and the second image pickup apparatus in cooperation with each other while acquiring operation information about a predetermined operation, and a database storing defined operation information about the predetermined operation in advance, in which the predetermined operation is supported based on image data acquired by causing the first image pickup apparatus and the second image pickup apparatus to cooperate with each other.

The optical element that takes part in determining the focal length in the image pickup system includes an optical element making use of a refraction phenomenon alone. The 400-nm wavelength input/output ratio is 10% or less with respect to an input-output ratio for a 400-nm to 800-nm wavelength at which an output signal strength ratio with respect to an input quantity of light is highest when the input quantity of light is defined by the quantity of a light beam emanating from the same object point and entering the image pickup optical system and the output signal strength is defined by the strength of a signal produced from the controller in response to the light beam.

The invention provides a zoom lens system that is reduced in terms of both size and cost. The zoom lens system comprises a first positive lens group G1, a second negative lens group G2, a stop S, a third positive lens group G3 and a fourth positive lens group G4. During zooming from a wide-angle end to a telephoto end of the system, while the first lens group G1 remains fixed, the second lens group G2 moves from an object side to an image plane side of the system, the third lens group G3 moves from the image plane side to the object side, and the fourth lens group G4 moves to keep an image plane at a constant position. The first lens group G1 is made up of a negative meniscus lens convex on an object side and a double-convex lens, the second lens group G2 is made up of a double-concave lens and a positive meniscus lens convex on an object side thereof, with an aspherical surface being used for a surface of the positive meniscus lens that is located on an image side thereof, the third lens group G3 is made up of a double-convex lens and a negative meniscus lens convex on an object side thereof, with an aspherical surface being used for a surface of the double-convex lens that is located on an object side thereof, and the fourth lens group G4 is made up of one double-convex lens.

Zoom lens system

The invention makes a suitable selection from zoom modes and lens elements so thin that the thickness of each lens group can reduced, thereby slimming down a zoom lens with great thoroughness and, hence, an electronic image pickup system. The electronic image pickup system a zoom lens and an electronic image pickup device located on the image plane side of the zoom lens. The zoom lens comprises, in order from the object side, a first lens group Gcomprising two lens components and having generally negative power and a second lens group Gcomprising two lens components and having generally positive power. The focal length of the zoom lens can be varied by varying the air separation between the first lens group Gand the second lens group G. The zoom lens should satisfy at least one of conditions (a) to (n).

Electronic image pickup system

The imaging system comprises a zoom lens comprising a plurality of lens groups Gand Gwherein the spacing between individual lens groups is varied to vary a focal length and an aperture stop located in an optical path for limiting at least an axial light beam diameter, and an electronic image pickup device I located on the image side of the zoom lens.
