The medium discharging apparatus includes a medium receiving portion that includes a first portion and a second portion that is provided on the first portion and that is configured to be displaced between a retracted position and an advanced position, a moving member configured to move between a first position and a second position, in which the moving member pushes and moves the second portion towards the advanced position as the moving member moves from the first position towards the second position and in which the moving member is moved to the first position as the second portion is displaced to the retracted position, a pushing member that pushes the moving member towards the second position, and a restricting member configured to switch between a restricting state that restricts a movement of the moving member towards the second position, and a non-restricting state that releases the restricting state.

Recording apparatus

In a configuration in which an ink accommodating portion is provided on the outside of an apparatus main body, an appropriate control for suppressing influence of noise can be performed. A recording apparatus includes a recording head that is capable of discharging liquid onto a medium, a controller that controls the recording head, a recording unit that includes the recording head and the controller, a tank unit that includes a liquid accommodating member accommodating the liquid and an electronic component holding information of the liquid accommodating member, a tube that guides the liquid from the liquid accommodating member to the inside of the recording unit, and an electric wiring that electrically connects the controller and the electronic component, in which the electric wiring includes a connection portion which connects cables, a cable on the electronic component side constituting a wiring of the electronic component side with respect to the connection portion, at least a part of which is wired in the tank unit, and a cable on the controller side constituting a wiring of the controller side with respect to the connection portion, at least a part of which is wired in the recording unit, a signal transmitted by the cable on the electronic component side includes an analog signal, and a signal transmitted by the cable on the controller side does not include an analog signal.

In a configuration in which an ink accommodating portion is provided on the outside of an apparatus main body, both improvement of maintenance and suppressing of performance deterioration of the apparatus are achieved. A recording apparatus includes a recording head that is capable of discharging liquid onto a medium, a controller that controls the recording head, a housing that covers a structure including the recording head and the controller, a case that stores a liquid accommodating member accommodating the liquid and an electronic component holding information of the liquid accommodating member, and is attached to the outside of the housing, a tube that guides the liquid from the liquid accommodating member to the inside of the housing, and an electric wiring that electrically connects the controller and the electronic component, in which the electric wiring includes a connection portion which connects cables, a cable on the controller side which constitutes a wiring of the controller side with respect to the connection portion, and a cable on the electronic component side which constitutes a wiring of the electronic component side with respect to the connection portion, and at least one of the cable on the controller side and the cable on the electronic component side is able to be connected to and disconnected from the connection portion.

Complication and an increase in size of an apparatus when suppressing precipitation of a precipitating component contained in liquid are suppressed. In a liquid supply apparatus, ink containing pigment, which is a precipitating component, is contained in a liquid containing portion, and the ink contained in the liquid containing portionis guided from a liquid supply portion of a holding portionto a printer. A liquid containing bodyis configured with the liquid containing portionfixed to the holding portion, and is attached to an attachment/detachment unitin a detachable manner. The attachment/detachment unitsupports the liquid containing bodyby the holding portionthereof in a state where the liquid containing portionis exposed, and transmits an X-axis reciprocating movement XM along an X-axis, for example, to the liquid containing portionof the liquid containing bodythat is thus supported.

Liquid supply system

A recording apparatus includes a housing; a recording head that is provided inside the housing and records an image on paper by ejecting ink on the paper; a case that is attached to the housing in such a manner that the case can be separated from a side wall of the housing; and a first supply tube that supplies ink in a liquid container body contained in the case to the recording head. A through hole is provided in the side wall of the housing so as to allow the first supply tube to pass therethrough, and a through hole is provided in the case so as to allow the first supply tube to pass therethrough. The through hole in the case expands to be larger than the through hole in the side wall.

There is provided a printer including: a recording head which performs recording by ejecting ink; a recording unit which stores the recording head; a liquid storage unit which is provided outside the recording unit, and stores a liquid storage body that stores the ink to be ejected from the recording head; ink supply tubes which supply the ink that is stored in the liquid storage body stored in the liquid storage unit to the recording head; and a supporting portion which is provided in the liquid storage unit, and supports the ink supply tubes. As a mark which is a reference of a part supported by the supporting portion, a line is provided in the ink supply tubes.

A complex apparatus includes a recording device including a recording unit that executes recording on a medium; an image reading device, provided so as to be freely openable/closable with respect to the upper portion of the recording device via a hinge portion, including an image reading unit that reads an image; a first contact portion, provided in the image reading device, that makes contact with a housing of the recording device when the image reading device is in a closed state; a second contact portion, provided in the housing of the recording device, that makes contact with the first contact portion when the image reading device is in a closed state; and a third contact portion, provided in an apparatus frame that holds the recording unit, that makes contact with the housing of the recording device at the lower area of the second contact portion.

Complex apparatus

A recorded medium feeding device includes a pickup roller that feeds recorded medium downstream from a setting position by contacting with the recorded medium and rotating and a separating means for separating recorded medium to be fed and subsequent recorded media from the next page onward. The positions of a nip point of the separating means and a place where the pickup roller contacts the recorded medium in the direction orthogonal to the recorded medium feeding direction with respect to a recorded medium of a predetermined size to be fed by the pickup roller are located within a range deviated to one side from the center of the recorded medium of the predetermined size. A path elongating portion that elongates the feed path length of the recorded medium by abutting the recorded medium is apart from the nip point and the place where the pickup roller contacts the recorded medium.

Recorded medium feeding device and recording apparatus

A feeding device includes: a hopper, adapted to support a medium; a feeder, operable to feed the medium in a first direction; a separator, operable to nip the medium with the feeder at a nip point; and a guide, having a guide surface which guides the medium in the first direction and is provided with a recessed portion at a downstream side of the nip point in the first direction.

A recording-medium returning mechanism includes: a feed roller, provided to a feed-roller shaft that can be rotated, for coming into contact with a recording medium and feeding it; a hopper including a holder for holding a plurality of recording media stacked, the hopper being located at a position allowing the recording media on the holder to come into contact with the feed roller while being pressed against the feed roller and a position moving the recording media on the holder away from the feed roller; a separator for separating an uppermost recording medium on the holder from another recording medium simultaneously fed with the uppermost recording medium; and a return lever for returning the other recording medium to the holder.

Recording-medium returning mechanism and a recording apparatus including the same, and medium-returning mechanism and a liquid ejection apparatus including the same

A medium feeder is adapted to feed a target medium to a liquid ejecting section in which liquid is ejected toward the target medium. A feeding roller is adapted to come in contact with the target medium, thereby feeding the target medium in a first direction. A first supporter opposes the feeding roller and has a first supporting face adapted to support the target medium. A second supporter is disposed in an upper side of the first supporter and has a second supporting face adapted to support the target medium. A first edge guide is provided on the first supporter so as to be movable in a second direction perpendicular to the first direction, and has a first guiding face adapted to come in contact with a first side edge of the target medium. A second edge guide is provided on the second supporter so as to be movable in the second direction, and has a second guiding face adapted to come in contact with the first side edge of the target medium. The second edge guide is coupled with the first edge guide so that the first edge guide and the second edge guide move together. A retainer is provided in the second edge guide and operable to retain the second edge guide at an arbitrary position within a movable range of the second edge guide.

Medium feeder and liquid ejecting apparatus or recording apparatus incorporating the same

A recording apparatus including an automatic feeding mechanism for picking up one of recording media placed on a feed tray one by one and feeding the recording medium is provided. The automatic feeding mechanism includes: the feed tray on which a predetermined number of recording medium can be placed; a hopper for pushing the recording media on the feed tray toward a feed roller; and a separator located in a downstream of the hopper near the hopper. The automatic feeding mechanism picks up the recording media one by one in an order from an uppermost recording medium to a lowermost recording medium and feeds the recording medium thus picked to its downstream by an action of the feed roller and the hopper to sandwich and transfer the recording medium and a separating action of the separator. The automatic feeding mechanism can be rotated around a fulcrum of rotation so as to be foldable.
