There is disclosed a method for forming an image on a light-sensitive material having on a base at least a light-sensitive silver halide emulsion and a binder, which comprises, subjecting at least one light-sensitive layer to exposure to light, by using an exposure head that has a plurality of different light sources for emitting lights in respective specific wavelength regions correspondingly to adjacent exposure picture elements, to form an image, wherein, in the specific wavelength regions from the shortest wavelength to the longest wavelength for the respective plurality of light sources to be used, the change in sensitivity of the light-sensitive material in the spectral sensitivity curve obtained by plotting the sensitivities of the light-sensitive material in terms of the specific wavelength regions including the wavelengths in centers of gravity of respective light sources is 0.01 log E/nm or less. According to the method, the unevenness of exposure density resulting from a plurality of exposure light sources can be improved.

Image-forming method

A silver halide photographic material is disclosed, comprising a support having thereon at least one silver halide photographic emulsion layer of a silver halide emulsion, wherein the emulsion layer comprises monodisperse cubic silver halide grains which contain at least one metal atom of group VIII in the Periodic Table, and the silver halide emulsion is spectrally sensitized so as to have a sensitization maximum at a wavelength of 750 nm or more and further contains at least one of compounds represented by the following formulae (I-a), (I-b) and (I-c): ##STR1## wherein Z represents an alkyl group containing 1 to 18 carbon atoms, an aryl group containing 6 to 18 carbon atoms, or a heterocyclic group; Y represents atoms necessary to complete an aromatic ring containing 6 to 18 carbon atoms, or a hetero ring; M represents a metal atom or an organic cation; and n represents an integer of from 2 to 10.

Silver halide photographic material

A process for simply and rapidly producing a lithographic printing plate is disclosed, which comprises image-wise exposing a silver halide photosensitive material comprising a substantially water-insoluble basic metal compound and optionally having a physical-development nucleus layer on the external surface thereof, superposing the silver halide photosensitive material either after or simultaneously with the image-wise exposure on an image-receiving material which contains a complex-forming compound and has a physical-development nucleus layer on the external surface thereof or on a sheet which contains a complex-forming compound, in such a manner that the coating side of the photosensitive material is in contact with the coating side of the image-receiving material or the sheet, heating the superposed materials in the presence of a reducing agent and water, and subsequently separating both materials from each other to form a silver image as an ink-receptive area on the physical-development nucleus layer by means of silver salt diffusion transfer. The printing plate of the present invention has improved impression capacity.

Platemaking process with heat developable silver salt diffusion transfer

There is disclosed a silver halide photographic material in which a residual color can be compatible with a sensitivity in a development processing. The photographic material comprises a support and provided thereon at least one silver halide emulsion layer containing at least one of the methine compounds represented by the following Formula (I) and at least one of the compounds represent-ed by the following Formula (II): ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 represents --(CH.sub.2).sub.r --CONHSO.sub.2 --R.sup.3, --(CH.sub.2).sub.s --SO.sub.2 NHCO--R.sup.4, --(CH.sub.2).sub.t --CONHCO--R.sup.5, or --(CR.sub.2).sub.u --SO.sub.2 NHSO.sub.2 --R.sup.6, in which R.sup.3, R.sup.4, R.sup.5 and R.sup.6 each represent an alkyl group, an alkoxy group, or an amino group and r, s, t and u each repre-sent an integer of 1 to 5; R.sup.2 is synonymous with R.sup.1 or represents an alkyl group which is different from R.sup.1 ; Z.sup.1 and Z.sup.2 may be the same or different and represent the group of non-metallic atoms necessary to form a 5- or 6-membered heterocyclic ring; L.sub.1, L.sub.2 and L.sub.3 each represent a methine group; n.sub.1 represents 0, 1 or 2; X.sub.1 represents an anion; k.sub.1 represents a number necessary to adjust a charge in a molecule to 0; and p and q each represent 0 or 1. ##STR2## wherein R.sub.7 represents an aliphatic group or an aromatic group; R.sub.8 represents a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group, an aryl group, an alkoxy group, an aryloxy group, an amino group, or a hydrazino group; G.sub.1 represents a --CO-- group, a --SO.sub.2 -- group, a --SO-- group, a --P(O)R.sub.9 -- group, a --CO--CO-- group, a thiocarbonyl group, or an iminomethylene group; both of A.sub.1 and A.sub.2 represent a hydrogen atom, or either of them represents a hydrogen atom and another represents a substituted or unsubstituted alkylsulfonyl group, a substituted or unsubstituted arylsulfonyl group, or a substituted or unsubstituted acyl group; and R.sub.9 is selected from the same groups as those defined for R.sub.8 and may be different from R.sub.8.

A silver halide photographic material is disclosed, comprising a support having thereon at least one silver halide photographic emulsion layer, wherein the silver halide emulsion layer has been spectral-sensitized with a spectral-sensitizer to have a sensitized peak in a wavelength range longer than 730 nm; and light absorption due to the silver halide emulsion containing the spectral sensitizer satisfies the following equation (1):

A silver halide photographic material is disclosed, comprising at least one sensitizing dye represented by formula (I): ##STR1## wherein V.sub.1, V.sub.2, V.sub.3, V.sub.4, V.sub.5 and V.sub.6 each represents a substituent with the total of the Hammett's constants of all the substituents being less than -0.27, R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 each represents an alkyl group, L.sub.1, L.sub.2, L.sub.3, L.sub.4, L.sub.5, L.sub.6 and L.sub.7 each represents a methine group, m represents 0 or 1, Z represents an atomic group necessary for forming a 5-membered or 6-membered nitrogen-containing hetero ring, X.sub.n represents a charge balancing counter ion(s), n has a value of at least 0 which is necessary for neutralizing the charge of the compound. The material has a high sensitivity to infrared rays and gives an image of high quality with little remaining color. Also disclosed is a method for processing such a silver halide photographic material.

Silver halide photographic material and method for developing the same

Silver halide photographic material which has a hydrophilic colloid layer containing a solid micrograin dispersion of compounds represented by the following general formula (I): ##STR1## wherein, T.sup.0, T.sup.1 and T.sup.2 each independently represents a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom or a cyano, nitro, carboxy, alkyl, aryl, alkoxy, aryloxy, alkylthio, arylthio, alkylsulfonyl, arylsulfonyl, sulfamoyl, carbamoyl, amino, sulfonamido, carbonamido, ureido, sulfamoylamino, hydroxyl, alkenyl or acyl group, R.sup.3 and R.sup.4 each independently represents a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom or an alkoxy, alkyl, alkenyl, aryloxy or aryl group, R.sup.5 and R.sup.6 each independently represents a hydrogen atom or a group in which hydrogen atom substitution is possible, and R.sup.7 and R.sup.8 each independently represents an alkyl, aryl, vinyl, acyl or alkyl- or arylsulfonyl group, provided that rings may be formed by linkage of T.sup.1 with T.sup.2, R.sup.3 with R.sup.5, R.sup.4 with R.sup.6, R.sup.7 with R.sup.8, R.sup.5 with R.sup.7 and R.sup.6 with R.sup.8. The compound of formula (I) is designed to dye specific hydrophilic colloid layers in the photographic material and to decolor rapidly during development processing.

A silver halide photographic emulsion is disclosed. The emulsion comprises a silver halide, at least one infrared sensitizing dye represented by the following general formula (I) or (II), and at least one compound represented by the following general formula (IIIa) or (IIIb): ##STR1##

A silver halide photographic material is described, comprising a support having formed thereon at least one silver halide emulsion layer and at least one light-insensitive hydrophilic colloid layer, wherein at least one of layers consisting of said at least one silver halide emulsion layer and said at least one light-insensitive hydrophilic colloid layer contains a hydrazine derivative, and wherein at least one of said at least one light-insensitive hydrophilic colloid layer that is formed on the uppermost silver halide emulsion layer contains a dye.
