An occupant protection device includes an airbag mounted on a seat of a vehicle and attached to a belt body of a seat belt in a folded state. The airbag is inflated so as to allow an inflation gas discharged from an inflator to flow into the airbag and protect an occupant seated on the seat while protruding forward. An airbag cover is formed in an elongated shape that can cover an outer periphery of part of the belt body and a folding completion body corresponding to a state where the airbag is folded, and is closed such that at least the belt body is allowed to be inserted therethrough at both ends in the longitudinal direction.

Occupant protection device and airbag cover

An occupant protection device includes a seatbelt having a lap belt portion; a pretensioner mechanism that takes up the seatbelt; an inflator that discharges an inflating gas; and an airbag that is joined to the lap belt portion. The airbag including a bag main body portion, which is housed folded, inflates owing to the inflating gas being supplied, and receives an occupant, and a conduit portion, which guides the inflating gas discharged from the inflator to the bag main body portion, and causes the inflating gas to flow into the bag main body portion. A length dimension along the lap belt portion of a joining region in which the airbag and the lap belt portion are joined is shorter than a length dimension along the lap belt portion of the bag main body portion in a folded state.

Occupant protection device

An occupant protection device protects an occupant seated on a seat, in which an airbag is held in a holding body disposed in a periphery of a hip portion of the occupant. The airbag has a bag main body, and a conduit portion that causes an inflating gas discharged from an inflator to flow into the bag main body. The bag main body is held in the holding body as a completely folded body, folded using a front-rear reduction folding such that a width dimension in a front-rear direction is reduced from a preliminary folded bag. The completely folded body is formed by a lower side rolled region, formed by a lower side region of the preliminary folded bag being wound from a lower edge side, being stacked on an upper side rolled region, formed by an upper side region of the preliminary folded bag.

An occupant protection device includes a seatbelt, an inflator, an airbag and a tether. The seatbelt has a lap belt portion that restrains a waist portion of an occupant. The inflator discharges an inflating gas. The airbag is provided in the lap belt portion, and includes a bag main body portion, which receives the occupant by inflating owing to the inflating gas being supplied, and a conduit portion, which is connected to the inflator, guides the inflating gas discharged from the inflator to the bag main body portion, and causes the inflating gas to flow into the bag main body The tether links the conduit portion and a side wall portion, of a left side wall portion and a right side wall portion of the bag main body portion when inflation is completed, on a side separated from the inflator in a left-right direction.

An occupant protection device for protecting an occupant seated in a seat includes a seatbelt having at least a tongue, a buckle, and a lap belt portion, an inflator, and an airbag provided in the lap belt portion. In a state where a main body portion of the airbag is inflated, an end portion on a tongue side of a conduit portion of the airbag in a left-right direction of the seat extends as far as a position equivalent to that of an end portion on the tongue side of the main body portion, or nearer than the end portion on the tongue side of the main body portion to the tongue.

An occupant protection device has a folded airbag in a holding body in front of a hip portion of an occupant. The airbag protrudes from the holding body when an inflating gas flows, inflates to cover a region in front of the occupant, and includes an occupant side wall portion on the occupant side when inflation completes, and restrains an upper body of the occupant. The occupant side wall portion has a lower side restraining face, which restrains a range from an abdominal portion to a chest portion of the occupant, and an upper side restraining face, which restrains a head portion or a shoulder portion of the occupant, on a rear face side when inflation completes, and a bended portion is in a boundary region between the upper side restraining face and the lower side restraining face, and the upper side restraining face protrudes to the occupant side.

An occupant protection device is such that an airbag is housed in a housing region of a lap belt portion that can be disposed on a front side of a waist portion of an occupant seated in a seat. The airbag can receive and protect an upper body of the occupant using a rear face side occupant restraining face when inflation is completed. The airbag includes an exhaust port that can discharge an inflating gas and a regulating valve mechanism that restricts a discharge of the inflating gas from the exhaust port. The regulating valve mechanism permits a discharge of the inflating gas from the exhaust port when a protrusion upward of the airbag from the housing portion is restricted, and restricts a discharge of the inflating gas from the exhaust port when a protrusion upward of the airbag from the housing portion is not restricted.

An occupant protection device for protecting an occupant sitting in a seat includes an inflator, a holding member that is adapted to be disposed in front of a pelvic region of the occupant as sitting in the seat, and an airbag that is formed of a sheet material having flexibility and stored in and held by the holding member in a folded form. The airbag is configured to be inflated with an inflation gas fed by the inflator. The airbag includes a shoulder restraining portion that is configured to be deployed in front of shoulders of the occupant, and a supporting inflatable portion that is disposed in a lower end portion of the airbag as deployed for supporting the shoulder restraining portion. The supporting inflatable portion as deployed includes, in the underside, a supported surface that is adapted to be supported by thighs of the occupant.

A far-side airbag apparatus includes: an airbag which is fixed via a fixed portion set in a rear end portion of the airbag, and protects an upper body of an occupant, who sits on a vehicle seat positioned apart from a side wall portion of a vehicle in which multiple vehicle seats are provided side by side in a width direction, by deploying and inflating the airbag diagonally forward and upward from the fixed portion between adjacent vehicle seats via inflating gas which is supplied from a gas generator according to a side impact applied to the side wall portion of the vehicle, wherein a rear lower portion of the airbag is formed as a support portion that has a high rigidity and supports an upper portion positioned higher than the rear lower portion of the airbag.

Far-side airbag apparatus

An airbag in an uninflated-and-spread form includes a rear-lower inflation portion and a front-upper inflation portion. The airbag is stored in a first vehicle seat. The vehicle seat adjacent to the first vehicle seat is a second vehicle seat. The front-upper inflation portion includes at least three bend portions, which are arranged in a flowing direction of inflation gas. A form between the uninflated-and-spread form and the storage form is a transitional form. In the transitional form, the bend portions are each bent relative to the adjacent bend portion and rolled toward the second vehicle seat relative to the rear-lower inflation portion such that the closer a bend portion is to the downstream end, the more inward the bend portion is located. In the transitional form, the upper end of the most upstream bend portion is connected to the upper end of the rear-lower inflation portion.

Far-side airbag apparatus and method for folding airbag

A far-side airbag apparatus includes an airbag and an inflator that discharges inflation gas for deploying and inflating the airbag. The airbag is fixed to the seat frame of the backrest of a vehicle seat and is deployed and inflated on the side corresponding to the center of the passenger compartment. The airbag is divided into first to third inflation chambers, and the first inflation chamber accommodates the inflator. The far-side airbag apparatus includes a tension belt having a first end and a second end. The first end of the tension belt is connected to the surface of the airbag at a position that corresponds to a seam, which divides the first inflation chamber and the second inflation chamber from each other, and the second end is connected to the seat frame.

A side impact airbag apparatus includes an airbag, a gas generator, and a strap. The airbag is fixed to an automobile via an attaching portion in a rear lower portion. The gas generator supplies inflation gas to the airbag. The airbag includes a first section. The inflation gas deploys and inflates the airbag diagonally forward and upward from a part at which the airbag is fixed to the automobile. The front end of the strap is attached to the front end of the airbag. The rear end of the strap is attached to the fixed part of the airbag. The strap includes an upper strap portion, which is tensioned when the airbag is deployed and inflated, and a lower strap portion, which is located below the upper strap portion. The lower strap portion is tensioned with a tensile force greater than that of the upper strap portion.

Side impact airbag apparatus

A far-side airbag apparatus includes an airbag and an inflator that discharges inflation gas for deploying and inflating the airbag. The airbag is fixed to the seat frame of the backrest of a vehicle seat and is deployed and inflated on the side corresponding to the center of the passenger compartment. The far-side airbag apparatus is configured such that, when the inflator discharges inflation gas, the forward deployment and inflation of the airbag is promoted more than the upward deployment and inflation of the airbag.

A pedestrian airbag apparatus received in a storage portion of a vehicle between a left front pillar and a right front pillar. The pedestrian airbag apparatus includes an air bag and an inflator. The airbag protrudes from the storage portion when an inflation of the air bag is started and includes a traversal inflation portion that is formed in a generally rod-shape extending along a left and right direction of a lower portion of a front wind shield which is arranged on a rear side of the hood panel in a state where the inflation of the air bag is completed, and two longitudinal inflation portions that are formed in a shape extending rearward from both ends of the transversal inflation portion in the left and right direction to cover front surfaces of the left and right front pillars.
