A sound processing apparatus communicates with a terminal apparatus through a communication network and includes a main storage device, and an auxiliary storage device that stores a management program and a sound processing program. A management element is implemented by making the management program resident in the main storage device. The management element receives audio data transmitted from the terminal apparatus by a streaming method and stores the received audio data in the main storage device. The management element acquires, from the main storage device, processed data generated by performing sound processing on the audio data and transmits the processed data to the terminal apparatus by a streaming method. A sound processing element is implemented by making the sound processing program resident in the main storage device. The sound processing element performs the sound processing on the audio data to generate the processed data when the management element stores the audio data in the main storage device and stores the generated processed data in the main storage device.

Sound processing apparatus

In a structure in which a sound processing apparatus generates processed data by executing sound processing on processing object data received from a terminal apparatus and transmits it to the terminal apparatus, the number of times of communication between the terminal apparatus and the sound processing apparatus is reduced, and a delay in acquisition of the processed data by the terminal apparatus is reduced. A reception part successively receives a processing request including processing object data from the terminal apparatus. A sound processing part execute the sound processing on the processing object data to generate the processed data. A response generation part generates a response notification including the processed data as a response to the processing request. A transmission part successively transmits the response notification to the terminal apparatus.

Sound processing apparatus and sound processing system

An audio data processing system is a client-server system including an audio data communication device and an audio data processing device which are linked together via a communication network. The audio data communication device includes an acoustic generator, a control device, a transmitter and a receiver in connection with first and second storage areas. The transmitter sequentially transmits a time series of unprocessed data DA[n] stored in the first storage area, while the receiver sequentially receives a time series of processing-completed data DB[n] from the acoustic data processing device so that processing-completed data are stored in the second storage area and sequentially reproduced. When specific processing-completed data is not stored in the second storage area, the control device designates and reproduces specific unprocessed data, which is unprocessed acoustic data corresponding to specific processing-completed data. Alternatively, the control device designates and reproduces cross-faded acoustic data, combining unprocessed data and processing-completed data.

A sound processing apparatus that communicates with a terminal apparatus through a communication network, includes: a main storage device; an auxiliary storage device that stores a management program and a sound processing program; a management element being implemented by making the management program resident in the main storage device, the management element that receives audio data transmitted from the terminal apparatus by a streaming method and that stores the received audio data in the main storage device, the management element that acquires, from the main storage device, processed data generated by performing sound processing on the audio data and that transmits the processed data to the terminal apparatus by a streaming method; and a sound processing element being implemented by making the sound processing program resident in the main storage device, the sound processing element that performs the sound processing on the audio data to generate the processed data when the management element stores the audio data in the main storage device and that stores the generated processed data in the main storage device.

Performance data and lyric data stored in an external storage deviceis read out in accordance with the progression of a song. The performance data is sent to a tone generator, so that melody and accompaniment tones are reproduced by use of the performance data. The lyric data is sent to a display control circuit, so that lyrics represented by the lyric data are displayed on a display unit. The timing at which the lyrics are reproduced is determined by relative time data &#x394;T added to the lyric data, so that the lyrics are displayed at right positions corresponding to bar and beat positions. When a bar has lengthy lyrics, the width of the bar to be displayed on the display unitis adjusted. As a result, the position of lyrics displayed corresponds to the progression of a song, resulting in users being capable of obtaining timing in both performing a musical instrument and singing when they sing a song while performing the musical instrument.

A communication device comprises reception means for receiving externally supplied first time information representing time, time information generation means for generating second time information representing time, time difference detection means for detecting a time difference between the times represented by the received first time information and the second time information generated at a time point at which the first time information is received, and correction means for correcting the second time information generated by said time information generation means based on the received first time information when the time difference is greater than a predetermined value.

Technique for communicating time information

A musical tone information transmitting apparatus that can efficiently transmit musical tone information comprises: a device for inputting musical tone information; a plurality of processing units which jointly process the musical tone information from said input means in distributed processing; a packet generator for measuring an amount of said musical tone information distributedly processed by the plurality of processing units at a predetermined cycle, for extracting and packetizing a predetermined amount of the musical tone information into a first packet when the amount of the musical tone information is greater than the predetermined amount and for further packetizing next musical tone information after said predetermined cycle is lapsed from the time corresponding to the last musical tone information of said first packet; and a device for transmitting said packets generated by said packet generator.
