An active material includes, as constituent elements, silicon, oxygen, a first element, a second element, and a third element. The first element includes boron, phosphorus, or both. The second element includes at least one of an alkali metal element, a transition element, or a typical element. The typical element excludes silicon, oxygen, boron, phosphorus, an alkali metal element, and an alkaline earth metal element. The third element includes an alkaline earth metal element. The content of silicon with respect to all the constituent elements excluding oxygen and carbon is 60 at % or greater and 98 at % or less. The content of the first element with respect to all the constituent elements excluding oxygen and carbon is 1 at % or greater and 25 at % or less. The content of the second element with respect to all the constituent elements excluding oxygen and carbon is 1 at % or greater and 34 at % or less. The content of the third element with respect to all the constituent elements excluding oxygen and carbon is 0 at % or greater and 6 at % or less. A first peak is detected in an XPS spectrum of Si2p relating to the active material. The XPS spectrum of Si2p is measured using X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). The first peak includes an apex within a range of a binding energy of 102 eV or greater and 105 eV or less, and a shoulder on a smaller binding energy side of the apex. A second peak is detected in a Raman spectrum relating to the active material. The Raman spectrum is measured using Raman spectroscopy. The second peak includes an apex within a range of a Raman shift of 435 cmor greater and 465 cmor less.

A mixed aqueous solution is prepared in which a phosphorus source, a divalent Fe compound, and an oxidant are mixed at a predetermined ratio. Then, this mixed aqueous solution is dropwise added into a buffer solution having a pH value of 1.5 to 9, thereby to produce a precipitated powder of FePO. This FePOis synthesized with a lithium compound to obtain LiFePO. An electrode active substance containing this LiFePOas a major component is used as a positive electrode material of a secondary battery.

A material capable of producing a sintered body of cubic system garnet type LiLaZrOas a solid electrolyte having specified ion conductivity by firing at relatively low temperature in short time. The material for the solid electrolyte is an oxide containing Li, La, Zr and Bi, and the oxide has a cubic system garnet crystal structure where La sites are partly or entirely substituted by Bi.

Provided is a translucent ceramic which has a high Abbe number, is advantageous in aberration correction, and can be easily produced. The translucent ceramic contains, as a main component, a garnet type compound represented by the General Formula: YAlO, wherein the condition of 4.4&#x2266;v&#x2266;5.4 is satisfied and w is a positive number for maintaining electrical neutrality, in which the Al is partially or entirely substituted by Ga and the Y is optionally partly substituted by Gd. The translucent ceramic is suitably used, for example, for lenses arranged with a diaphragm interposed therebetween in a Gauss lens optical system, such as an optical system for single-lens reflex cameras.

The translucent ceramic is useful, for instance, as a material of an objective lens in an optical pickup.

A translucent ceramic includes a perovskite-type compound as a main component having a composition represented by the general formula (La(SrBaCa))((AlGa)(TaNb))O(wherein 0&#x3c;x&#x2266;1, 0&#x3c;y&#x2266;0.6, 0.4&#x2266;y/x&#x2266;0.6, 0&#x2266;a&#x2266;1, 0&#x2266;b&#x2266;1, 0&#x2266;c&#x2266;1, 0&#x2266;d&#x2266;1, 0.9&#x2266;v&#x2266;1.1 and w is a positive number for keeping an electrical neutrality). The translucent ceramic has a high refractive index and a large Abbe number. Therefore, the translucent ceramic has an advantage in correction of aberration and is preferably used for lenses, which are disposed so as to hold a diaphragm therebetween, in a Gauss lens optical system such as an optical system for a single-lens reflex camera.

A hybrid lens () has a structure in which a resin layer () composed of an ultraviolet curable resin is formed on the surface of a lens base material () composed of translucent ceramic. The lens base material () is composed of translucent ceramic containing as a main component an oxide with a perovskite structure represented by A{M,(B1, B2)}O(A is at least one selected from Ba, Sr and Ca, B1 is at least one selected from In, Y, Zn and Mg, B2 is at least one selected from Ta and Nb, and M is at least one selected from Ti, Zr, Hf and Sn) and at least Fe and Cu as sub-components. When the Fe content and Cu content in the translucent ceramic are x and y, respectively, 3x+y is 40 ppm by weight or less so that the hybrid lens () having excellent uniformity in optical properties and no crack defect can be obtained.

A translucent ceramic having a high light transmittance is provided. It contains a perovskite compound having a composition represented by a general formula: (BaSrCa)(MB1B2)O(where M contains at least one of Sn, Zr and Hf, B1 represents at least one of Mg, Zn, Y and In, B2 represents at least one of Ta and Nb, each of conditions of 0&#x2266;s&#x2266;0.99, 0.01&#x2266;t&#x2266;0.45, x+y+z=1, 0&#x3c;x&#x2266;0.9, 1.00&#x2266;z/y&#x2266;2.40, and 0.97&#x2266;v&#x2266;1.05 is satisfied, and w represents a positive number for maintaining electrical neutrality) as a primary component. This translucent ceramic can be used as, for example, an objective lens () of an optical pickup () to provide advantages. In another aspect some of M is replaced by Ti.

A translucent ceramic principally contains a composition represented by the formula Ba{TiM(MgZn)(TaNb)}O, wherein M is at least one selected from the group consisting of Sn, Zr, and Hf; w is a positive number for maintaining the electrical neutrality; x+x+y+z=1; 0.015&#x2266;x+x&#x2266;0.90; 0&#x3c;x&#x2266;0.90; 0&#x2266;x&#x2266;0.60; 1.60&#x2266;z/y&#x2266;2.40; 1.00&#x2266;v&#x2266;1.05; 0&#x3c;t&#x3c;1; and 0&#x2266;u&#x2266;1. Therefore, lenses () made of the translucent ceramic are suitable for optical pickups () and other devices that must be small-sized and thin.

A microstrip resonator including a dielectric substrate, a resonance electrode on a first main surface of the dielectric substrate, and a ground electrode over an entire second main surface of the dielectric substrate. The resonance electrode includes a superconducting film and a metal film deposited in that order. The ground electrode includes a superconducting film and a metal film deposited in that order. The superconducting film functions as an electrode in low-temperature operation below a critical temperature, and the metal film functions as an electrode in high-temperature operation at or above the critical temperature. The length of the superconducting film of the resonance electrode is set to be longer than that of the metal film of the resonance electrode, so that the resonance frequency in low-temperature operation is substantially equal to the resonance frequency in high-temperature operation.
