A drive apparatus is provided for driving a multi-phase rotating electric machine. The rotating electric machine includes a plurality of winding groups for respective phases. The drive apparatus includes a first inverter connected with start terminals of the winding groups of the rotating electric machine, a second inverter connected with intermediate terminals of the winding groups, and an energization controller configured to selectively perform energization of the winding groups by the first inverter and energization of the winding groups by the second inverter. Each of the first and second inverters includes a plurality of switch pairs respectively corresponding to the winding groups and each consisting of an upper-arm switch and a lower-arm switch that are connected in series with each other. Moreover, each of the upper-arm and lower-arm switches of the first inverter is configured to have bidirectionally-conducting and bidirectionally-blocking functions.

Vehicular seat air-conditioning system

A cooling apparatus includes a brine circuit through which brine flows, a pump disposed on the brine circuit, and a heat exchanger unit including a heat absorbing member and a heat radiating member. The heat absorbing member is in communication with the brine circuit. The heat absorbing member is capable of conducting heat generated from a cooling object to the brine for cooling the cooling object. The heat radiating member is in communication with the brine circuit and capable of receiving the heat from the brine. The brine circuit is configured such that the brine passes through the heat exchanger unit at a pressure equal to or lower than an atmospheric pressure.

A vehicle seat includes a seat back and a head rest. The seat back has an air blower that is capable of aspirating air, and a blower duct that is capable of introducing the aspirated air toward a blowhole formed in the seat back. The head rest has a head rest main body and a stay attached to the head rest main body. The stay is inserted into the seat back, so that the head rest main body is vertically movably attached to the seat back. The air blower is disposed on the seat back such that a rotation center thereof can be positioned above the level of a terminal end of the stay that is moved to a lowermost position.

An AC generator, referred to as an alternator, is mounted on an automotive vehicle for supplying electric power to an on-board battery and other electric loads. The alternator includes a rectifier device for rectifying alternating current to direct current. The rectifier is composed of a minus-side heat-radiating plate on which six minus-side rectifier elements are mounted and a plus-side heat-radiating plate on which six plus-side rectifier elements are mounted. Each rectifier is mounted on the heat-radiating plate in the same manner, i.e., by forcibly inserting the rectifier element into a mounting hole formed in the heat-radiating plate. A disc portion of the rectifier element has an outer peripheral surface on which knurls are formed. The outer peripheral surface having the knurls is tapered so that the disc portion is easily inserted into the mounting hole while establishing a firm grip and a good heat-conductive contact between the rectifier element and the heat-radiating surface.

An air-conditioning device includes a pump for sending a thermal medium, a thermoelectric conversion unit for absorbing heat from the thermal medium, a target setting unit for setting a target cooling value, and a controlling unit. The controlling unit increases a flow amount of the thermal medium to be larger than a predetermined amount and stops the thermoelectric conversion unit from absorbing heat, when the target cooling value is smaller than a predetermined value. The controlling unit increases a heat-absorbing amount of the element and keeps the flow amount of the thermal medium to be larger than the predetermined amount, when the target cooling value is equal to or larger than the predetermined value.

A thermoelectric conversion device and a manufacture method thereof are provided. The manufacture method includes an electrode board stamping process, an insulating frame molding process, a punching process, an element fixing process, a bending process and an insulating frame integrating process. Band-shaped plate members which function as heat radiating fins and heat absorbing fins and are integrated with insulating frame members are respectively folded-back in such a manner that the folding-back directions of the band-shaped plate members are alternately reverse to each other in the longitudinal direction of the band-shaped plate member. The insulating frame members are joined to each other to be arranged substantially in line, to construct an insulating frame unit. Thus, the component number and the assembly labor can be reduced, while the manufacture quality and the product quality can be improved.

A compression spring applies counterforce to the operation member against operational movement of the operation member. A load sensor senses an operational work load of a driver of a vehicle. A movable member is driven by a motor to change the counterforce based on the operational work load of the driver sensed by the load sensor.
