The purpose of the present invention is to obtain an ethylene&#x22c5;&#x3b1;-olefin&#x22c5;non-conjugated polyene copolymer that has a low permanent compression set at low temperatures, is flexible, and has an excellent balance of rubber elasticity at low temperatures and tensile strength at normal temperatures. This ethylene-based polymer is an ethylene&#x22c5;&#x3b1;-olefin&#x22c5;non-conjugated polyene copolymer that includes units derived from ethylene (A), units derived from an &#x3b1;-olefin (B) containing 4-20 carbon atoms, and units derived from a non-conjugated polyene (C) and satisfies (1)-(4). (1) The molar ratio of (A) to (B) is 40/60-90/10, (2) the contained amount of the units derived from (C) is 0.1-6.0 mol %, (3) ML125&#xb0; C. is 5-100, and (4) the B value is 1.20 or more.

This ethylene-based polymer is an ethylene.&#x3b1;-olefin.non-conjugated polyene copolymer that includes units derived from ethylene (A), units derived from an &#x3b1;-olefin (B) containing 4-20 carbon atoms, and units derived from a non-conjugated polyene (C) and satisfies (1)-(4). (1) The molar ratio of (A) to (B) is 40/60-90/10, (2) the contained amount of the units derived from (C) is 0.1-6.0 mol %, (3) ML125&#xb0; C. is 5-100, and (4) the B value is 1.20 or more.

A railroad rail track pad composition including a particular ethylene&#xb7;&#x3b1;-olefin&#xb7;non-conjugated polyene random copolymer (A), clay (B), and a sulfur atom-containing silane coupling agent (C) is used in order to lower the viscosity of a rubber composition that is a raw material for molding while suppressing lowering of the rubber elasticity of a crosslinked and molded product to be obtained. In addition, a molded product obtained by crosslinking the composition, particularly a molded product obtained by crosslinking and foam-molding the composition, is provided with rubber elasticity that is suitable as a railroad rail track pad.

Objects of the invention are to obtain ethylene copolymers which have excellent rubber elasticity even without being crosslinked and maintain sufficient shaping processability even when filled with significantly large amounts of additives, and to provide methods for producing with good productivity films or sheets having flexibility and high stretchability. The invention is directed to an ethylene copolymer (X) including structural units derived from a component [A], a component [B] and a component [C] which are ethylene [A], an &#x3b1;-olefin of 3 to 20 carbon atoms [B] and a polyene and/or a cyclic olefin [C]. The crosslinkable rubber composition of the invention is crosslinkable by hot air, and a hot-air crosslinked rubber sheet thereof has no scratch on the surface in a hardness test using a pencil of HB and has a compression set of not more than 70% after a heat treatment at 150&#xb0; C. for 22 hours. The rubber composition comprises an ethylene/&#x3b1;-olefin/non-conjugated polyene random copolymer rubber comprising a specific vinyl end group-containing norbornene compound, a SiH group-containing compound having at least two SiH groups in one molecule, and if necessary, an addition reaction catalyst comprising a platinum group element and a reaction inhibitor. The automobile weatherstrip, hose, rubber vibration insulator, belt, sealing material, expanded product, covered electric wire, electric wire joint, electric insulating part and household rubber product according to the invention comprise the above-mentioned rubber composition. The rubber composition has a high crosslinking rate and excellent productivity to produce crosslinked rubber molded products, is capable of undergoing hot-air crosslinking such as HAV or UHF and is capable of providing crosslinked rubber molded products having excellent compression set resistance, strength properties, heat resistance, weathering resistance and abrasion resistance.
