Provided is a paint composition which can give a coating having excellent stretchability and further having excellent contamination resistance. A solvent-based paint composition comprises a fluorocopolymer (I), and an organic solvent (II), the fluorocopolymer (I) including: a perhaloolefin structural unit (a) that contains two carbon atoms, a vinyl acetate structural unit (b), a hydroxyl group-containing vinyl monomer structural unit (c) represented by the following formula (1): CH&#x2550;CH&#x2014;O&#x2014;(CH)&#x2014;OH wherein n is an integer of 2 or more, and a carboxyl group-containing monomer structural unit (d) represented by the following formula (2): RRC&#x2550;CR&#x2014;(CH)&#x2014;COOH wherein R, R, and Rare the same as or different from one another, and each a hydrogen atom or a C1-C10 linear or branched alkyl group; and m is an integer of 2 or more.

Solvent-based paint composition and fluorine-containing copolymer

Provided is a method for producing a fluoropolymer in the presence of a specific non-fluorinated compound having surface activity. The method shows a high polymerization rate, and suppresses formation of sticking polymerization materials after production of a polymer product. The method includes aqueous dispersion polymerization of a fluoroolefin in the presence of a compound (1) represented by formula (1):  wherein Rand Rare the same as or different from each other, and each represent a C4 to C12 non-fluorinated saturated hydrocarbon group; and M is an alkali metal, an ammonium salt, or an amine salt.

Method for producing fluorine-containing polymer

The present invention provides a novel copolymer of 2,3,3,3-tetrafluoropropene and a non-fluorinated ethylenic hydrocarbon monomer. The copolymer contains (A) a 2,3,3,3-tetrafluoropropene unit and (B) a non-fluorinated ethylenic hydrocarbon monomer unit. The copolymerization ratio (mol % ratio) of (A) and (B) is 99.9:0.1 to 0.1:99.9 and the number average molecular weight of the copolymer is 1000 to 1000000.

The present invention provides a process for easily preparing a vinylidene fluoride homopolymer comprising an I-form crystal structure at high purity by selecting a solvent, and the process for preparing the vinylidene fluoride homopolymer comprises not less than 70% by mass of I-form crystal structure, which is obtained by dissolving a vinylidene fluoride homopolymer having a number average degree of polymerization of 3 to 20 in a solvent consisting of an organic solvent having a dipole moment of not less than 2.8 alone or comprising the organic solvent in a part, thereafter, evaporating the solvent.
