An annular disc holder has a plurality of partition plates for holding a plurality of discs in an upright position, and a reproducing device is provided for reproducing a desired disc. A carrying device is provided for carrying the desired disc between the disc holder and the reproducing device. The partition plates are radially arranged. The carrying means is provided for returning the desired disc to the disc holder from a large width portion between the partition plates.

System for carrying and reproducing a disc

A disc holder is annularly provided for holding a plurality of discs, and a reproducing device is provided in a central portion of the disc holder for reproducing a desired disc. A carrying device is provided for carrying the desired disc between the disc holder and the reproducing device. The carrying device has a groove for slidably engaging with a peripheral portion of the desired disc, and a pair of inclined surfaces for separating adjacent discs on both sides of the desired disc from the desired disc.

An annular disc holder is provided for holding a plurality of discs. The disc holder is rotatably mounted on a base and is guided by a guiding device provided between the disc holder and the base so as to be rotated about an axis.

A disk player has a disk cartridge for being loaded thereon, and accommodating a disk-type recording medium. The disk cartridge has a shutter arranged thereon, for performing slide-opening/closing in order to expose an information surface of the disk-type recording medium. The disk player includes a carrier mechanism for carrying the disk cartridge to an information regenerating location and an information recording location, and a shutter sliding mechanism for slide-opening/closing the shutter. The shutter assumes an intermediate position of sliding when the disk cartridge is located at one of the information regenerating location and. the information recording location, and assumes a terminal position of sliding when the shutter is located at the other one of the locations. The disk player also includes a driving mechanism including an engaging element and an engaged element which is separated from the engaging element when the information recording mechanism is not driven.

Disc player

A skew adjusting apparatus for an optical disc player makes a positional adjustment of a guide member of a carriage for a pickup relative to a chassis. A movable body is disposed on the chassis. The movable body has at one end thereof a supporting member for the guide member and the other end thereof a connection member to the chassis. An adjusting device for making a positional adjustment of the guide member through the supporting member in the thickness direction of the chassis is disposed between the chassis and the movable body so as to be displaced from the guide member and the supporting member on a reference plane of the chassis.

Skew adjusting apparatus for an optical disc player

A structure for supporting a rotating body has a cylindrical rotating member having a flange perpendicular to an axis and a cylindrical portion, and a fixed shaft for rotatably supporting the rotating member. The flange has a hole, and the shaft has at least one hook projecting from the hole for restricting an axial movement of the rotating member.

Structure for supporting a rotating member on a shaft

A disc cartridge includes an upper lid and a lower lid for housing an optical disc or a magneto-optical disc between them. The disc cartridge also includes amechanism for making a gap between the upper lid and the lower lid varable. The mechanism increases a clearance between the surface of the disc housed in the disc cartridge and the inner surface of the upper and lower lids when the disc cartridge is inserted in an information recording and reproducing device. The mechanism may also increase a clearance between the outer rim of the disc and the inner wall of the disc cartridge when the disc cartridge is inserted in an information recording and reproducing device.

Disc cartridge having variable gap

A disk player has a disk cartridge for being loaded thereon, and accommodating a disk-type recording medium. The disk cartridge has a shutter arranged thereon, for performing slide-opening/closing in order to expose an information surface of the disk-type recording medium. The disk player is comprised of a carrier mechanism for carrying the disk cartridge to an information regenerating location and an information recording location, and a shutter sliding mechanism for slide-opening/closing the shutter. There is provided a disc player which comprises a base section, a loading section linearly movably mounted on the base section, a rotary tray rotatably mounted on the loading section for receiving a plurality of discs, a driving motor provided in the loading section for producing a driving force, a turn table provided under the rotary tray. The disc player further includes a first operating mechanism for transmitting a driving force from the driving motor to the rotary tray, and for moving down the turn table when the rotary tray is to be rotated, a second operating mechanism for transmitting a driving force from the driving motor to said loading section to cause the loading section to linearly move with respect to said base section, a change-over for selecting an operation of the first operating mechanism or the second operating mechanism.

Single motor disc player with a Geneva mechanism

An electromagnetic actuator has a large driving force and a good response speed and an image pickup apparatus obtains an image of a high resolution even by using a solid state image pickup device with a small number of pixels. The actuator comprises permanent magnetic field generating units for generating permanent magnetic fields and a current path forming unit which is relatively movable for the permanent magnetic field generating units and forms a current path which crosses the permanent magnetic fields by a current according to an input control signal. The permanent magnetic field generating units of the actuator generate two permanent magnetic fields in the directions which cross each other by, for example, two pairs of magnets. The current path forming unit has two coils each crossing the permanent magnetic field and winding shafts of those coils exist almost on the same line. A driven member is driven by a relative movement between the magnets and the coils by two electromagnetic forces which are generated between the magnets and the coils. In the image pickup apparatus, first and second electromagnetic actuators are driven and controlled by a control unit, a first parallel flat plate is inclined every four exposures, an image of an object is deviated in four directions, a second parallel flat plate is inclined in four directions every exposure, the image of the object is deviated in four directions, and the image data obtained by the exposure of four times is synthesized, thereby forming synthetic image data of one picture plane.

Electromagnetic actuator and image pickup apparatus

A disc player includes: a plurality of guide devices arranged radiately in radial directions of a disc from a rotary axis of the disc. Each of the guide devices includes two parallel shafts vertically arranged for supporting at least one pickup device in a manner slidable in the radial direction. The vertical positions of the parallel shafts of one of the guide devices are different from the vertical positions of the parallel shafts of the guide device neighboring to the one guide device so that the parallel shafts substantially vertically aligned at inner end portions of the shafts on the side of the rotary axis.

Disc player and method of reproducing the same

A compatible disc player includes a first tray for carrying an LD arranged to protrude and withdraw from and into a player housing and a second tray for carrying a CD mounted on the first tray, in such a manner as to be movable in directions of the movement of the first tray, and the first and second trays are latched or released to and from each other by use of a latch mechanism in response to a selected one of an LD playing mode and a CD playing mode. The disc player is provided with a single position signal generating switch for sensing positions of the trays, for example, a position in which the trays are completely protruded, and the timing of operation of the switch is changed depending on whether the first tray is moved or the second tray only is moved. Further, the operation of the latch mechanism is controlled by an engagement of a pickup of the player with the latch mechanism.

Multi-tray disk player with selective tray latching

A front loading disc player for automatically delivering a disc onto a turntable and playing back the disc includes a disc delivery mechanism for delivering the disc. The disc delivery mechanisms has two trays for carrying respective discs, juxtaposed in a direction substantially normal to the disc carrying surface of the turntable and movable into a projected position out of the player housing and a retracted position in the player housing, and a guide and driver means for guiding and moving the trays into the playback position, the retracted position, and the projected position. While one of the trays is in the playback position, the other tray is positioned in either the stored position or the projected position. While the disc delivered by one of the trays onto the turntable is being played back, therefore, the disc on the other tray can be replaced with a new disc, so that a number of discs can successively be played back.
