To provide a powder coating material capable of forming a coating film excellent in impact resistance, flexibility and adhesion to substrate and excellent in surface smoothness even when formed under low temperature film-forming conditions. The powder coating material of the present invention is a powder coating material comprising a fluorinated polymer having units based on a fluoroolefin, units based on a monomer represented by the formula X&#x2014;Z and units based on a monomer represented by the formula CHR&#x2550;CR(CH)COOH, wherein the content of the units based on a monomer represented by the formula X&#x2014;Z is from 5 to 20 mol % to all units in the fluorinated polymer, and the fluorinated polymer has a melt viscosity at 170&#xb0; C. of from 20 to 100 Pa&#xb7;s (in the formulae, X is a specific monovalent polymerizable group, Z is a specific alkyl group, a specific cycloalkyl group or a specific aryl group, Rand Rare each independently a hydrogen atom or a specific alkyl group, and n is an integer of from 0 to 12.

To provide a coating composition with which a coating film excellent in the moisture resistance, the weather resistance and the corrosion resistance can be formed by a single application and removal of an organic solvent, a method for producing such a coating film, and a coated article having a coating film obtainable by it. A coating composition comprising an organic solvent, a coating resin soluble or dispersible in the organic solvent, and a leafing aluminum pigment, wherein the surface tension of the organic solvent at 20&#xb0; C. is from 10 to 22 mN/m, and a method for producing a coating film, which comprises applying the coating composition to a substrate, and removing the organic solvent in the coating composition.

The claimed invention relates to a powder coating composition containing a fluorinated copolymer (X) having a glass transition point of at least 50&#xb0; C. and a number average molecular weight of from 10,000 to 22,000, and a curing agent (Y), wherein the fluorinated copolymer (X) is a copolymer obtained by polymerization of a monomer mixture containing (A) from 45 to 55 mol % of chlorotrifluoroethylene and/or tetrafluoroethylene, (B) from 2 to 40 mol % of a vinyl ether which has a Calkyl group containing a tertiary carbon atom, (C) from 5 to 20 mol % of a vinyl ether having a crosslinkable functional group, and (E) from 1 to 32 mol % of a vinyl ester which has a Calkyl group containing a tertiary or higher carbon atom, wherein the total content of (B) and (E) is from 30 to 50 mol %, and the curing agent (Y) is reactive with the crosslinkable functional group.
