[Problem] To provide: a resin-coated metallic plate which cannot undergo the occurrence of a retort brushing phenomenon (the formation of white spots) or the delamination of a film under retort sterilization treatment conditions; and others. [Solution] A resin-coated metallic plate having a resin layer (A) and a resin layer (B) is characterized in that the resin layer (A) contains 50 to 80 wt % of a polyethylene terephthalate-based resin (I) and 20 to 50 wt % of a polybutylene terephthalate-based resin (II), wherein the resin layer (B) contains 50 to 80 wt % of a polyethylene terephthalate-based resin (III) and 20 to 50 wt % of a polybutylene terephthalate-based resin (II), the polyethylene terephthalate-based resin (I) has a melting point of 210 to 230° C. inclusive, the polybutylene terephthalate-based resin (II) has a melting point of 215 to 225° C. inclusive, and the polyethylene terephthalate-based resin (III) has a melting point of higher than 230° C. and 205° C. or lower.

An organic resin-covered surface-treated metal sheet having formed on at least one surface of a metal sheet a surface-treatment coating and an organic resin film on the coating. The surface-treatment coating contains a polyvalent metal compound and a poly-carboxylic acid type polymer containing not less than 60 mol % constituent units derived from at least one polymerizable monomer selected from acrylic acid, maleic acid, methacrylic acid, and itaconic acid. The surface-treatment coating measured for its infrared-ray absorption spectra has a peak height ratio (&#x3b2;/&#x3b1;) of a maximum absorption peak height (&#x3b1;) in a wave number range of 1660 to 1760 cmand a maximum absorption peak height (&#x3b2;) in a wave number range of 1490 to 1659 cmis from 0.37 to 2.35. Also disclosed is a can body made from the organic resin-covered surface-treated metal sheet and a can lid made from the organic resin-covered surface-treated metal sheet.

A chromium-free surface-treated metal sheet includes a metal sheet, a surface-treatment coating that contains a polycarboxylic acid type polymer and a zirconium compound and that is formed on at least one surface of the metal sheet, and a coating that contains a polyester resin, a phenol resin and an acid catalyst and that is formed on the surface-treatment coating. The surface-treated metal sheet can be used for producing cans and can lids maintaining excellent dent resistance even for acidic beverages, without permitting the organic resin film formed on the coating to be peeled even under high-temperature and wet environments during a sterilization treatment or the like, and maintaining excellent hot water-resistant adhering property.

An organic-resin-coated metal sheet of the present invention is an organic-resin-coated metal sheet in which an unstretched film is stacked on at least a single surface of a metal sheet, and is characterized in that the unstretched film is composed of a polyester-based resin composition obtained by blending copolymerized polyester (I) composed mainly of a polyethylene terephthalate-based resin with crystalline polyester (II) composed mainly of a polybutylene terephthalate-based resin with a mixing amount of the crystalline polyester (II) of 20 to 45 wt %.

A film for lamination comprising a polyester resin containing a polyfunctional component in an amount of 0.01 to 0.50 mol % and having a melt tension of not smaller than 50 mN. Even when laminated on a metal plate by a high-speed extrusion lamination method, the film can be applied onto the metal plate maintaining a uniform thickness and good adhesiveness without undergoing oscillation or pulsation. Being blended with a copolymerizable component in an amount of 10 to 20 mol %, in particular, the laminated member coated with the film features excellent adhesiveness of the coating. By further laminating a layer of another polyester resin on the above film, the flavor-retaining property can be imparted as well.

The present invention provides a method for trimming a resin film which can recycle lug portions of the resin film after trimming, can easily trim the resin film even when the resin film is made of resin which becomes fragile by cooling, and enhance the use efficiency of a laminated sheet by making resin coated portions disposed at both sides of the laminated sheet thin. At the time of coating molten resin at least on one surface of a substrate to form a resin film after making the molten resin pass between coating rolls, the lug portions of the resin film are trimmed before the lug portions of the resin film are cooled.

Method for trimming resin film

A resin-coated seamless can satisfying such properties as high degree of workability, adhesiveness of film, resistance against high temperatures and wet heated condition, corrosion resistance and resistance against being dented. The resin-coated seamless can is formed of a resin-coated metal plate having substantially unoriented two layers including a lower layer on the inside of the can and a surface layer on the lower layer, wherein both of the layers comprise a polyethylene terephthalate/isophthalate having an intrinsic viscosity &lsqb;&eegr;&rsqb; of not smaller than 0.7, and the surface layer contains an isophthalic acid in an amount of from 3 to 13 mol %, and the lower layer contains the isophthalic acid in an amount of from 8 to 25 mol %, which is larger than that of the surface layer, and the degree of crystallization of the surface layer is larger than the degree of crystallization of the lower layer in the upper part of the can wall.

Resin-coated seamless can

A method of producing an extrusion-laminated member comprises extruding a thermoplastic resin from a T-die into the form of a film and laminating the film on a heated metallic base member using a pair of laminating rolls, wherein a pre-roll is disposed between the T-die and one of the laminating rolls to receive the film on the side opposite to the side that adheres onto the base member over the whole width of the film. The film is wound on the pre-roll at an angle (&agr;) of from 10 to 90 degrees. The film received by the pre-roll is fed to the laminating rolls, conveyed by being supported by the laminating rolls on the side opposite to the side that adheres onto the base member, and is fed to a nipping position so as to be melt-adhered onto the heated metallic base member.
