An intake system is incorporated in a multi-cylinder internal combustion engine having a plurality of cylinders each being provided with at least three intake ports, at least one of the three intake port being timed to close after the remaining intake ports which are timed to close closely to each other. The intake system includes a main intake pipe introducing intake air into the intake system. The main intake pipe is connected to the remaining intake ports of the cylinder by way of a common intake pipe and to the at least one intake port of the cylinder by way of an intake pipe provided independently from the common intake pipe.

Intake system for automotive engine

A vane type rotary compressor comprising a housing having a cylindrical inner wall surface, a rotatable sleeve disposed in the housing for rotation about its own longitudinal axis, a rotor disposed in the sleeve for rotation about its own longitudinal axis, which is offset from the longitudinal axis of the sleeve, and a plurality of vanes carried by the rotor to extend in radial directions and maintained in contact with the inner surface of the sleeve to divide the interior of the sleeve into a plurality of working chambers. The rotatable sleeve is made of an Si-Al type alloy containing 12 to 25% by weight of Si. The sleeve is age hardened and provided with an anodic oxidation coating. A further coating of wear resistant resin may be provided on the outer surface of the sleeve.

Vane type compressor having an improved rotatable sleeve

A rotary compressor comprises a housing having a cylindrical inner wall surface, a rotatable sleeve having an inner and outer surfaces and disposed in the housing for rotation about a first longitudinal axis, a rotor disposed in the sleeve for rotation about a second longitudinal axis which is offset from the first longitudinal axis, a plurality of vanes carried by the rotor to extend substantially in radial directions and having radially outer edges maintained in contact with the inner surface of the sleeve so that the sleeve is rotated as the rotor and the vanes rotate. One or each of the inner wall surface of the housing and the outer surface of the sleeve has a coating comprised of a wear-resistant resin dispersed with 10 to 120 volume part of a solid lubricant and 5 to 50 volume part of metal flakes for 100 volume part of the resin.
