The present invention pertains to a method for producing a copolymer of ethylene and an allyl monomer having a polar group represented by general formula (1), or a copolymer of ethylene, an allyl monomer having a polar group represented by general formula (1), and other monomers, wherein the copolymer is produced in the presence of a boron compound having a boron-hydrogen bond or a boron-carbon bond (for example, a compound represented by general formula (2)) by using a metal complex represented by general formula (C1) as a polymerization catalyst (the symbols in the formulas are as described in the description). According to the present invention, a copolymer of ethylene and an allyl monomer can be efficiently produced with high catalytic activity, wherein the copolymer has a polar group and can be used in various applications.

Method for producing copolymer of allyl monomer having polar group

A gas-barrier resin (A) having an oxygen permeability coefficient of 1.0&#xd7;10(cm&#xb7;cm/cm&#xb7;s&#xb7;Pa) or less; and a copolymer (B) containing monomer structural units represented by the formula (1), the formula (2), and the formula (3): where: Rrepresents a hydrogen atom or a methyl group; Rrepresents a hydrocarbon group having 1 to 20 carbon atoms that may be substituted with a halogen atom, a hydroxy group, an alkoxy group, or an amino group; 1, m, and n represent numerical values representing molar proportions of the respective monomer structural units, and n may represent 0; and p represents an integer of from 1 to 4, wherein a ratio of a mass of the copolymer (B) to a total mass of the gas-barrier resin (A) and the copolymer (B) is from 1 mass % to 40 mass %.

The present invention relates to a method for producing a copolymer of ethylene and an allyl monomer that is represented by formula (1) and has a polar group, or a copolymer of ethylene, the allyl monomer that is represented by formula (1) and has a polar group, and another monomer. This production method is characterized by using a metal complex, which is represented by general formula (C1), as a polymerization catalyst and by having a silane compound, which is represented by general formula (2) and has a silicon-hydrogen bond, coexist with the metal complex. (In the formulae, the symbols are as defined in the description.) According to the present invention, a copolymer of an allyl monomer that has a polar group is able to be produced with high catalytic activity, said copolymer being capable of having various applications. 

Method for producing copolymer of polar group-containing allyl monomer

Foamed thin materials such as foamed film and foamed fibrillated materials produced by extruding a composition consisting of 100 parts by weight of aliphatic polyester having a melt viscosity of 1.0.times.10.sup.3 -1.0.times.10.sup.5 poises at a temperature of 190.degree. C. and a shear rate of 100 sec.sup.-1, and having a melting point of 70.degree.-200.degree. C., and 0.2-5 parts by weight of foaming agent. These foamed thin materials has biodegradability, excellent mechanical, insulating, touch and aesthetic properties. They are useful materials as insulating, packaging, oil absorbing materials and filters.

Polyester foamed thin materials

An aliphatic polyester film which is synthesized from a glycol and an aliphatic polybasic acid having a melt viscosity of 2,000-100,000 poises at a temperature of 190.degree. C. and a shear rate of 100 sec.sup.-1, and having a melting point of 70.degree.-200.degree. C. The film is excellent in heat stability and mechanical strength as well as biodegradability when buried in the earth; and has low combustion heat than polyethylene and polypropyrene.
