A method of manufacturing a two-piece food can having improved corrosion resistance is provided, wherein the two-piece food can using a metal sheet coated with a thermoplastic resin and having annular uneven beads and/or a bottom rim. After forming a bottomed cylindrical can body by drawing and ironing, by heating at a temperature higher than the melting temperature of the thermoplastic resin for a predetermined time before forming uneven beads and/or a bottom rim to the can body and quenching within a predetermined time after heating, the inner resin coating hardly peel off during the following formation of uneven beads and/or the bottom rim. As a result, a two-piece food can having excellent corrosion resistance may be obtained.

To provide a hydrophilic coating composition excellent in hydrophilicity, wear resistance, transparency, storage stability, antifogging properties, antifouling properties, visible light transmittivity, adhesion properties, chemical resistance, weather resistance, and water resistance and a hydrophilic member using the composition. A process for producing a hydrophilic member, includes: coating a surface of a base material with a hydrophilic composition containing at least (a) a catalyst, (b) a hydrophilic polymer and (c) a metal alkoxide; and drying the composition, wherein a temperature for the drying is from 10&#xb0; C. to 60&#xb0; C.

Magnetic recording medium and production process therefor

Magnetic recording medium including a radiation-cured material layer having a specified structure and composition

Provided is a magnetic recording medium having excellent dispersibility, smoothness and electromagnetic characteristics. The magnetic recording medium comprises at least one magnetic layer comprising a ferromagnetic powder and a binder on a nonmagnetic support. Said ferromagnetic powder is a ferromagnetic metal powder having an average major axis length of 10 to 80 nm and a crystallite size of 8 to 18 nm, or a ferromagnetic hexagonal ferrite powder having an average plate diameter of 5 to 40 nm, and said binder comprises 0.2 to 0.7 meq/g of at least one polar group selected from &#x2014;SOM, &#x2014;OSOM, &#x2014;PO(OM), &#x2014;OPO(OM)and &#x2014;COOM (where M denotes a hydrogen atom, alkali metal or ammonium salt), and/or 0.5 to 5 meq/g of at least one polar group selected from &#x2014;CONRR, &#x2014;NRRand &#x2014;NRRR(where R, Rand Rindependently denote hydrogen atoms or alkyl groups).

A magnetic recording medium is provided which includes, in order on a non-magnetic support, a radiation-cured layer formed by curing a layer containing a radiation curing compound by exposure to radiation, a middle layer having a non-magnetic powder dispersed in a binder (1), the middle layer being provided as necessary, and at least one magnetic layer having a ferromagnetic fine powder dispersed in a binder (2). Said binder comprised in the lower layer and/or magnetic layer comprises a polyurethane, said polyurethane is polyurethane (1) prepared from a chain extending agent, an organic diisocyanate, and a polyester polyol which comprises a dibasic acid component and a diol component, wherein the dibasic acid component comprises an aliphatic dibasic acid component and 70 molar percent or more of the diol component is derived from a diol having an alkyl branched side chain comprising two or more carbon atoms without a ring structure, or said polyurethane is polyurethane (2) prepared from a chain extending agent which comprises an alkyl branched aliphatic diol comprising three or more of total carbon atoms in a branched side chain per molecule, an organic diisocyanate, and a polyester polyol which comprises a dibasic acid component and a diol component, wherein the dibasic acid component comprises an aliphatic dibasic acid component and 70 molar percent or more of the diol component is derived from an alkyl branched aliphatic diol having a branched side chain of which total carbon atoms per molecule is two or more, and magnitude of saturation magnetic flux density (&#x3c6;m) ranges from 150 to 400 G&#xb7;&#x3bc;m.
