Provided is a photo-curable nanoimprint composition that has excellent properties in terms of etching resistance, dispersibility, and productivity. In addition, the photo-curable nanoimprint composition enables easy transcription of patterns even when a mold is pressed with a relatively low pressure. The photo-curable nanoimprint composition includes: (A) partial hydrolysate obtained by hydrolyzing a mixture of an organic silicon compound and a silicon compound containing (meth)acrylic groups with water in the molar amount of not less than 0.1 times but less than 1.0 times with respect to the number of moles of all alkoxy groups present in the mixture; (B) polymerizable monomer containing (meth)aclyic groups; and (C) pothopolymerization initiator. In addition, the mixture of partial hydrolysate (A) may include further partial hydrolysate of fluorinated silicone compound and/or metal oxide.

A photochromic optical element comprising an optical substrate, a photochromic coat layer, and a hard coat layer that are laminated in this order, wherein (I) the photochromic coat layer comprising an alkylamino group-containing photochromic compound and/or a dialkylamino group-containing photochromic compound in a total amount of 0.1 to 10.0% by mass, and (II) the hard coat layer is obtained by curing a hard coat agent comprising metal oxide fine particles and an organosilicon compound, the hard coat agent containing as the organosilicon compound at least one selected from the group consisting of a tetraalkoxy silane, a methyl trialkoxy silane, and partial hydrolysates thereof in an amount of 10 to 60% by mass based on the total mass of the metal oxide fine particles and the organosilicon compound.

Photochromic optical element

A chromene compound of this invention, as shown in the following formula: characterized by having an indeno(2,1-f)naphtho(1,2-b)pyran structure as a basic structure, and having a substituent which is a substituted or unsubstituted aryl group such as methoxyphenyl group, or a substituted or unsubsterituted heteroaryl group such as thienyl group bonding to a carbon atom at the seventh position of the indeno(2,1-f)naphtho(1,2-b)pyran structure. The photochromic compound exhibits a color tone of a neutral tint when it develops a color, features a high color-developing sensitivity and a high fading rate, and has a good photochromic resistance.

Chromene compound

Novel chromene compounds having various substituents to exhibit a high color-developing sensitivity and a high density even when dispersed in a high-molecular matrix, and exhibiting a large fading rate, less color when deteriorated, and excellent light resistance in the photochromic properties; photochromic materials containing the chromene compounds; and use thereof.

A photochromic polymerizable composition comprising (a) a polyfunctional (meth)acrylate monomer, (b) at least one kind of chromene compound selected from the group consisting of three kinds of chromene compounds represented by particular structural formulas, and (c) a compound having at least one or more epoxy groups in the molecules. The photochromic polymerizable composition offers a photochromic material that exhibits little initial color and excellent photochromism resistance suited for use as lenses for spectacles.

Photochromic polymerizable composition

A photochromic compound featuring a large fading rate to prevent a change in the color tone at the time of fading, exhibiting little color after aged, and exhibiting good durability in the photochromic property. The photochromic compound is a novel chromene compound having a substituted phenyl group at the second position of the naphthopyrane ring and an alkyl group at the fifth position thereof, and is represented by, for example, the following formula,

A photochromic composition which develops a neutral tint such as grey, green, brown or amber upon the irradiation with light including ultraviolet rays such as sunlight starting from the initial colorless state, maintaining a homogeneous color tone in the transient stage of developing color. The photochromic composition comprises 100 parts by weight of a fulgimide compound and/or a fulgide compound, and from 10 to 300 parts by weight of a chromene compound having a molar extinction coefficient of not smaller than 150 L/mol-cm for light of a wavelength of 400 nm.

Photochromic composition

The present invention relates to a novel chromene compound having favorable photochromic properties, developing a color of a high density, exhibiting a small degree of initial color and permitting the color to quickly fade. The novel chromene compound has an amino group that may be substituted for a sixth position of a naphthopiran ring, has electron-donating groups at para-positions of the two phenyl groups bonded to the third position, and has at least one or more electron-attracting groups at meta-positions of the phenyl groups, and is represented, for example, by the following formula, ##STR1##
