A light source device including: a support member includes a groove in which a light guide member is disposed, a light source substrate and the support member are in contact with each other with a convex portion, and the convex portion is disposed on at least one of an opposed surface opposed to a first surface of the light source substrate and the first surface of the light source substrate to separate a light emitting element from the support member and a light guide member.

Light source device and projector

A light source device according to the present disclosure includes a light emitting element for emitting first light, a wavelength conversion member for converting the first light into second light, and a support member. The wavelength conversion member has a first face and a second face crossing a longitudinal direction of the wavelength conversion member, a third face and a fourth face crossing the first face and the second face, and a fifth face and a sixth face crossing the first face and the second face and crossing the third face and the fourth face, and the second light is emitted from the first face. A light emitting surface of the light emitting element is opposed to the third face.

A light source device of the present disclosure includes a light source unit including a first coupling part which is disposed in the gap and electrically couples the first and second light emitting element groups, and a first regulatory member which is disposed between a light guide member and a base substrate, and regulates a position of a light guide member with respect to a support member. The first light emitting element group has a configuration in which a plurality of first light emitting elements is coupled in series so that a current flows along a first direction, and the second light emitting element group has a configuration in which a plurality of second light emitting elements is coupled in series so that a current flows along a second direction opposite to the first direction. The first regulatory member is disposed to overlap the first coupling part.

A light source apparatus according to an aspect of the present disclosure includes a light emitter, a light guide member, a support member having a groove, and a position restriction member. The light guide member has a first surface and a second surface located at sides opposite from each other in a first direction, a third surface and a fourth surface located at sides opposite from each other in a second direction, and a fifth surface and a sixth surface located at sides opposite from each other in a third direction. The groove has a support surface facing the fourth surface, a first wall surface facing the fifth surface and separate from the fifth surface, and a second wall surface facing the sixth surface and separate from the sixth surface. The position restriction member includes a first placement section and a second placement section.

Light source apparatus and projector

A light guiding unit includes a light guiding member that light enters and an angle converter that the light from the light guiding member enters. The light guiding member has a side surface and a light exiting end surface which intersects the side surface and via which the light exits. The angle converter includes a light incident section on which the light from the light guiding member is incident, a light exiting section via which the light incident on the angle converter exits, and a reflection section that reflects the light incident via the light incident section toward the light exiting section. The refractive index of the interior of the angle converter is greater than the refractive index of air. The refractive index of the interior of the light guiding member is greater than the refractive index of the interior of the angle converter.

A light source apparatus includes a light source section emitting first light having a first wavelength band, a light guide propagating part of the first light, a wavelength converter disposed side by side with the light guide and including a phosphor emitting second light having a second wavelength band when excited by another part of the first light, and a light combiner that combines the first light exiting the light guide with the second light exiting the wavelength converter. The light source section faces the light guide and the wavelength converter.

Light source apparatus having side by side light guide and wavelength converter

A light source apparatus according to an aspect of the present disclosure includes a first light source that emits first light, a second light source that emits second light, a light guide that causes the first light emitted from the first light source to propagate, a wavelength converter containing a phosphor that emits fluorescence when excited with the second light emitted from the second light source, and a light combiner that combines the first light having exited out of the light guide with the fluorescence having exited out of the wavelength converter. The light guide and the wavelength converter are disposed side by side. The light guide has a first end section and a second end section. The wavelength converter has a third end section and a fourth end section. The first light enters the light guide via the first end section thereof.

A discharge lamp drive device includes a discharge lamp driver adapted to supply a drive current to a discharge lamp having a first electrode and a second electrode, a control section adapted to control the discharge lamp driver, and a storage section adapted to store a plurality of drive patterns of the drive current. The control section is adapted to select one drive pattern of the plurality of drive patterns based on machine learning, and execute the selected drive pattern.

Discharge lamp drive device, light source device, projector, and discharge lamp drive method

A light source device includes a light source emitting first light in a first wavelength band, a light guide section guiding partial light of the first light, a wavelength conversion section including a phosphor, which other partial light of the first light, and which converts the other partial light into second light in a second wavelength band. A light guide section first side surface and a wavelength conversion section second side surface are opposed. The first side surface has a diffraction grating. The partial light enters the light guide section from the first side surface via the diffraction grating. The other partial light enters the wavelength conversion section from the second side surface. The partial and second lights are emitted in one of a normal direction of the first end surface of the light guide section and a normal direction of the third end surface of the wavelength conversion section.

A projector includes a discharge lamp and a discharge lamp drive section. The discharge lamp drive section is configured to selectively perform a first drive in which first drive power is supplied and a second drive in which second drive power higher than the first drive power is supplied in a first posture, and supply drive power not lower than third drive power and not higher than fourth drive power in a second posture in which optical axis intersects with horizontal plane, the third drive power is drive power with which one of the electrodes in the second posture is set to temperature corresponding to first temperature in the first drive in the first posture, and the fourth drive power is drive power with which one of the electrodes in the second posture is set to temperature corresponding to second temperature in the second drive in the first posture.

Projector

A light source device includes: an arc tube having a light emission portion containing a pair of electrodes and configured to emit light by discharges induced between the pair of the electrodes; and a container body that accommodates the arc tube, the container body has a space in which the arc tube is accommodated, and a plurality of openings through that cooling fluids introduced from the outside of the container body are supplied into the space, the plural openings are formed at positions that allow the cooling fluids passing through the openings to collide with each other at a collision position above the light emission portion.
