A cable inspection device non-destructively inspects a cable used for supporting a bridge. The cable inspection device includes a neutron source and a neutron detection device. The neutron source emits neutrons to the cable. The neutron detection device includes a detection surface arranged outside the cable, and detects target neutrons and measures the number of the detected target neutrons when neutrons are emitted to the cable. The target neutrons are among the neutrons released from the cable and incident on the detection surface, and each have an energy equal to or lower than a predetermined value that is lower than an energy of a fast neutron.

A neutron emission unit is configured to emit neutrons such that a center axis (Nh) of a neutron emission intersects a center axis direction of collimators (a toe). A calculation unit is capable of generating information about an inspection object in the center axis direction of the collimators, based on position information of a neutron detector and/or position information of the neutron emission unit, information about an angle (&#x3b8;) at which the center axis of the neutron emission intersects the center axis direction of the collimators, and a neutron amount detected by the neutron detector.

A non-destructive inspection system includes: a neutron emission unitcapable of emitting neutrons pulsed; a neutron detector capable of detecting the neutrons emitted from the neutron emission unit and penetrating through an inspection object; a storage unit storing attenuation information indicating a relationship between a material of the inspection object and attenuation of the neutrons; and a calculation unit capable of calculating distance information indicating a position of a specific portion in the inspection object in accordance with time change information which is information on a change over time in an amount of the neutrons detected by the neutron detector. The calculation unit is capable of generating information related to an amount of the specific portion from information based on the amount of the neutrons according to the time change information, using the distance information and the attenuation information.

The distance measuring device further includes an oscillator, a first mixer, a second mixer, a fourth filter, a fifth filter, a third mixer, a sixth filter, a second filter, a phase difference measuring unit, and a distance measuring unit. The phase difference measuring unit measures a phase difference of the two beat signals extracted by the sixth filter and the second filter. The distance measuring unit measures a distance based on the phase difference measured by the phase difference measuring unit.

Disclosed is a vehicle tire structure in which a tubeless pneumatic tire is fitted over a wheel, characterized in that: at least a pair of walls project in substantially radial direction from an outer circumferential surface of the wheel into an annular chamber defined between the tire and the wheel. These walls prevents the generation of standing waves or the air column resonace inside the tire and contribute to the overall reduction of the road noise of the vehicle. The proximal ends of the walls may be either bonded to an annular member which surrounds the wheel or pivoted to a similar annular member and biased into radial or upright positions by a spring member, in such a manner as not to interfere with the replacement of the tire. Alternatively, the walls may consist of inflatable bags which may be inflated into upright positions and deflated into flat positions.
