Provided is a slider which is lightweight, reduces production cost and is excellent in quietness, the slider having a slider body which is hardly deformed or broken. The slider includes a slider body made of synthetic resin and a slider handling tool which holds a top and bottom of the slider body and performs sliding operation. The slider handling tool has first and second arm parts connecting with a connecting axis part and first and second holding parts disposed at a tip end part of the first and second arm parts, respectively.

A knitted surface fastener is provided that is capable of firmly forming warp knitting structure of a sewn area and achieving weight reduction as well as production costs reduction. A knitted surface fastener includes a pair of right and left sewn areas and a surface fastener area disposed between the right and left sewn areas. An average used amount of the weft insertion yarns in the sewn areas is set to be larger than an average used amount of the weft insertion yarns in the surface fastener area.

Provided is a slide fastener that has a flexible fastener tape, exhibits liquid-tightness, and can prevent a gap from being formed in a coupling portion, and a method of producing the slide fastener. An overlay material is formed on a front surface of a fastener tape so that the overlay material formed on a surface of a core member extends beyond a centerline in a front-rear thickness direction of a tape member. When a pair of fastener element rows engages with each other, a tip of an intermeshing head of a fastener element presses the overlay material formed on the opposite core members.
