A drying unit includes a housing and a first contact heating unit. The first contact heating unit is provided inside the housing. The first contact heating unit includes a first contact heating surface configured to come into contact with a back surface of a medium after printing. The first contact heating unit can change posture from first posture to second posture, in a state where a first engagement portion engages with a first guide portion of a first support portion and a second engagement portion engages with a second guide portion of a second support portion, by a movement from a first position where the first contact heating surface faces the back surface of the medium after printing to a second position where the first contact heating surface is more separated from the back surface of the medium after printing as compared to the first position.

Printing device

A drying unit includes a first contact heating unit provided inside a housing, and a second contact heating unit provided downstream in a transport direction from the first contact heating unit inside the housing. The first contact heating unit includes a first contact heating surface configured to come into contact with a back surface of a medium after printing. The second contact heating unit includes a second contact heating surface configured to come into contact with the back surface of the medium after printing. The first contact heating surface is curved to have a shape protruding in a direction opposite to the second contact heating surface, and the second contact heating surface is curved to have a shape protruding in a direction opposite to the first contact heating surface. The first contact heating surface has a radius of curvature larger than that of the second contact heating surface.

The printing apparatus includes: a printing unit configured to perform printing on a fabric based on print data, a transporting belt having a support surface for supporting the fabric and configured to transport the fabric, a cleaning unit configured to clean the support surface with a cleaning liquid, a temperature change unit configured to change a temperature of the cleaning liquid, and a device control unit configured to control the temperature change unit based on at least one of attribute information of the fabric, a position of the fabric on the support surface, and the print data.

A recording device includes a recording unit configured to perform recording on a medium, a transporting belt configured to transport the medium, a wiper configured to wipe an outer circumferential surface of the transporting belt by coming into contact with the outer circumferential surface, a holding portion configured to hold the wiper, a support portion configured to support the holding portion such that the wiper is movable toward the outer circumferential surface, an elastic member configured to bias the holding portion such that the wiper comes into contact with the outer circumferential surface while the holding portion is supported movably by the support portion, and a fixing portion configured to fix the holding portion to the support portion.

Recording device

A printer includes a recording unit, a glue belt, a feeding unit, a suction unit, and a duct unit. The recording unit performs recording on a medium. The glue belt includes a support face capable of supporting the medium. The feeding unit feeds air toward the support face. The suction unit sucks air flowing from the support face. Air discharged from the suction unit flows through the duct unit. The duct unit is provided with an opening portion that adjusts a pressure difference between a pressure inside the duct unit and a pressure outside the duct unit.

A recording device includes a recording unit capable of performing recording on a medium, a holding unit capable of holding a roll body around which the medium is wound, a transporting unit that transports the medium unwound from the roll body, a tension roller that, between the holding unit and the recording unit, comes into contact with a back surface of the medium and applies tension to the medium, and a blowing unit that blows air onto a front surface of the medium. The blowing unit blows the air towards the tension roller.

A drying device includes a support portion that supports a printed medium, a heating unit provided in a drying chamber for drying the medium supported by the support portion, a flow path member that forms an air flow path connecting an inflow port that opens downward in the vertical direction and the drying chamber, an air blowing unit that supplies, to the drying chamber, air flowing from the inflow port into the air flow path and causes the air to flow out of an outflow portion of the drying chamber, and a control unit that controls driving of the air blowing unit. The outflow portion is positioned lower than the inflow port in the vertical direction, and the control unit controls the driving of the air blowing unit to change an air flow rate of the air supplied to the drying chamber.

Drying device and printing apparatus

A recording device includes a recording unit configured to perform recording on a first surface of a medium, a holding unit configured to hold a roll body obtained by rolling the medium, a transport unit configured to transport the medium unwound from the roll body, and a knocking unit configured to knock on a second surface of the medium between the holding unit and the recording unit, the second surface being a surface opposite the first surface. The knocking unit knocks on the second surface by moving between a spaced position for being spaced apart from the second surface and a contact position for making contact with the second surface.

A medium heating device includes a support portion configured to support a medium being transported, a heating unit configured to heat a medium supported by the support portion, and a detector configured to detect a temperature of the support portion. The support portion includes a metal plate including a first surface as the support face, an end portion of the metal plate is bent toward an opposite side to the first surface, the metal plate is fixed by a fixing portion and a fixing portion next to the fixing portion in a width direction, and a detection position of the detector is set to a position between the mutually adjacent fixing portions in the width direction.

A printing apparatus includes a drying unit that includes a bring-in port where a medium is brought in and a bring-out port where the medium is brought out, and dries ink applied onto the medium, and in a case in which printing is temporarily stopped and a predetermined maintenance work is performed, the medium is transported in a transporting direction which is a direction toward the bring-out port from the bring-in port in a maintenance work period from starting of the maintenance work to finishing of the maintenance work or in a partial period of the maintenance work period.

Transporting medium through drying unit during printing interruption

An image forming apparatus includes a reaction liquid application portion that applies reaction liquid to a recording medium, an ink application portion that applies ink which includes a color material that is coagulated using the reaction liquid onto the recording medium onto which the reaction liquid is applied, and a control portion that adjusts an amount per unit area of the reaction liquid that is applied to the recording medium from the reaction liquid application portion according to infiltration into the recording medium.

Image forming apparatus and image forming method

A full-overlap type recording apparatus includes a recording unit and a controller. In the recording unit, n pieces of recording heads are disposed in a main scanning direction, positions of the n pieces of recording heads are shifted from each other in a sub-scanning direction, and the n pieces of recording heads are disposed so as to form m sets in the sub-scanning direction. The controller determines a use head based on the image data, and the use head is a recording head used for forming dots on a recording medium. The controller determines the use head for all raster lines formed on the recording medium, so as to respectively use the n pieces of recording heads when the raster lines are formed.
