An oscillator includes a power supply terminal, a ground terminal, a positive-side clock terminal, and a negative-side clock terminal. The power supply terminal is supplied with a high potential-side power supply voltage. The ground terminal is supplied with a low potential-side power supply voltage. The positive-side clock terminal outputs a positive-side clock signal of a differential clock signal. The negative-side clock terminal outputs a negative-side clock signal of the differential clock signal. The power supply terminal and the ground terminal are arranged side by side, and the positive-side clock terminal and the negative-side clock terminal are arranged side by side.

A circuit device includes: a first terminal and a second terminal coupled to a resonator; a third terminal; a fourth terminal; a first switch provided on a signal path between the first terminal and the third terminal; a second switch provided on a signal path between the second terminal and the fourth terminal; and a register configured to output a signal for controlling the first switch and the second switch to be turned on or off. In a first mode, the first switch and the second switch are turned off, a control signal is input to the third terminal, and a clock signal is output from the fourth terminal. In a second mode, the first switch and the second switch are turned on.

A circuit device includes: a first terminal and a second terminal coupled to a resonator; an amplifier circuit configured to amplify a signal from the first terminal and output the amplified signal to the second terminal; a variable resistance circuit that is provided on a signal path between the amplifier circuit and the second terminal and includes a variable resistor, a first switch provided at one end of the variable resistor, and a second switch provided at the other end of the variable resistor; a third switch coupled in parallel to the variable resistance circuit; and a control circuit configured to control a resistance value of the variable resistor and control the first switch, the second switch, and the third switch to be turned on or off.

An oscillator includes: a resonator; an oscillation circuit configured to generate an oscillation signal by the resonator; a clock output terminal; an output circuit configured to output a clock signal to an external processing device via the clock output terminal; a first terminal; and an interface circuit configured to execute communication with the processing device by a data signal. In the communication, the output circuit outputs the clock signal to the processing device that is a master for the communication, and the interface circuit that is a slave for the communication receives, via the first terminal, the data signal that is transmitted from the processing device and synchronized with the clock signal, or transmits, via the first terminal, the data signal to the processing apparatus in synchronization with the clock signal.

A circuit device includes an oscillation circuit that generates an oscillation signal using a resonator, a temperature detection circuit that outputs temperature detection data, a temperature compensation circuit, and a temperature detection rate control circuit. The temperature compensation circuit performs temperature compensation on an oscillation frequency of the oscillation signal based on the temperature detection data. The temperature detection rate control circuit controls a temperature detection rate at which the temperature detection circuit executes temperature detection. At this time, the temperature detection rate control circuit controls the temperature detection rate based on a variation in the temperature detection data.

A circuit device includes an oscillation circuit configured to generate an oscillation signal using a resonator, a temperature sensor circuit configured to output temperature detection data, a temperature compensation circuit configured to perform, based on the temperature detection data, temperature compensation on an oscillation frequency of the oscillation signal, a memory configured to store correction data for correcting the temperature detection data to obtain a temperature, and an interface circuit configured to output the temperature detection data and the correction data.

A circuit device includes a first terminal, a first oscillation circuit oscillating a resonator and generating a first voltage for automatic gain control for controlling amplitude of a signal output from the resonator, a digital signal generation circuit generating a digital signal corresponding to the first voltage, and a first interface circuit outputting the digital signal to the first terminal.

The oscillation circuit includes a variable capacitance circuit whose capacitance value is variably controlled based on the capacitance control data, and an oscillation frequency thereof is controlled based on the capacitance value of the variable capacitance circuit. A circuit device includes an oscillation circuit that generates an oscillation signal by using a vibrator, a frequency adjustment circuit that adjusts an oscillation frequency of the oscillation circuit based on frequency adjustment data, a temperature sensor circuit that outputs temperature data, an arithmetic operation circuit, and a storage circuit. The arithmetic operation circuit outputs converted temperature data by performing, on the temperature data, conversion processing in which a slope of the converted temperature data with respect to the temperature data in a first temperature range is different from a slope of the converted temperature data with respect to the temperature data in a second temperature range. The storage circuit stores a lookup table representing a correspondence between the converted temperature data and the frequency adjustment data.

An oscillator includes a circuit device, a clock output terminal, an error output terminal via which an error signal is outputted, and a clock input terminal, and the circuit device includes a clock signal generation circuit that generates a clock signal, an error signal generation circuit that generates the error signal, and a selection circuit that selects one of the clock signal and a signal inputted via the clock input terminal based on the error signal and outputs the selected signal via the clock output terminal.

In order to configure an oscillation circuit, an oscillator, a fractional N-PLL circuit, and the like that can output a plurality of frequencies, while decreasing an influence of an integer value boundary spurious at one reference frequency, the oscillation circuit includes a circuit for oscillation that oscillates a resonator, a fractional N-PLL circuit to which a signal from the circuit for oscillation is input, and a non-volatile memory that stores a plurality of division ratios, which can be selected from outside, of the fractional N-PLL circuit. A fractional portion of at least two of the plurality of division ratios is equal to or higher than 0.05 and is equal to or lower than 0.95.

An address of the register storing the frequency setting data is continuous with an address of the register storing the frequency change data.
