A prismatic secondary battery includes: an electrode group including electrodes formed of positive electrodes and negative electrodes each having an active material layer coated on a surface of a metallic foil, the electrodes formed of positive and negative electrodes are flatly wound together with a separator intervening with the positive and negative electrodes, the positive and negative electrodes being each formed with a metallic foil exposed section at one end in a direction of a winding axis L; and connection plates that electrically connect the electrode group and electrode terminals. The metallic foil exposed sections of the electrode group and the connection plates are press-joined. At least a portion of the press-joined sections constituted by the metallic foil exposed sections and the connection plates is covered with a resin material.

Prismatic secondary battery

The present invention is a secondary battery, including: an electrode group that includes a positive electrode and a negative electrode, an electrolyte, and a battery cell container that contains the electrode group and the electrolyte and that is sealed, wherein: an adhesive layer for trapping foreign matter present inside the battery cell container is disposed in the battery cell container by exposing at least part of the adhesive layer so as to allow the adhesive layer to come into contact with the electrolyte.

A non-aqueous electrolytic secondary battery that can prevent a drop in the power even in a large current discharge is provided. Porosity of a separator is larger than or the same as porosity of a positive electrode mixture and a porosity of a negative electrode mixture. Particularly, the porosity of the positive electrode mixture is 20% to 50%, the porosity of the negative electrode mixture is 20% to 50%, and the porosity of the separator is 20% to 60%. The separator becomes rich in the volume of the electrolytic solution that infiltrates into interfacial aperture between the separator and the negative electrode. When the large current discharge is carried out in a short time, lithium-ions are released/occluded from the electrodes and the electrolytic solution can gain the released/occluded lithium-ions with a small interfacial resistance.
