A processing device includes a support table to support a sheet medium, a sheet cutter to cut the medium supported on the support table, a cutter holder to move the sheet cutter in a toward-away direction in which the sheet cutter moves toward and away from the support table, and a cutter transporter to move the cutter holder in a cutting direction that is orthogonal to a transport direction of the medium. The cutter holder includes a holder movable in the toward-away direction and that holds the sheet cutter, an actuator including a rod that extends or retracts, a link connected to the rod and the holder, and a rotation shaft that rotatably supports the link so that the holder moves in the toward-away direction in response to extension or retraction of the rod.

A printer includes an ink head including a nozzle surface on which a nozzle is provided, a wiper extending upward to wipe the nozzle surface, a wiper mover to move the wiper in a sub-scanning direction, a wiper cleaner disposed downstream of a carriage and extending downward to remove ink adhering to the wiper, and a controller configured or programmed to control the wiper mover. The controller is configured or programmed to control the wiper mover such that the nozzle surface is wiped by the wiper after bringing the wiper into contact with the wiper cleaner or to bring the wiper into contact with the wiper cleaner after wiping the nozzle surface by the wiper.

A wiping assembly includes a wiper that wipes a liquid ejection head, a wiper cleaner, and a mover that moves the wiper relative to the wiper cleaner. The wiper cleaner includes a first member, a second member, an absorbent, and a presser. An opening is located in the first member. The second member includes a projecting portion opposed to the opening. The absorbent has a plate shape and is disposed between the first member and the second member. The presser presses the second member toward the first member. The projecting portion presses the absorbent toward the opening. A portion of the absorbent is deformed to form a protruding portion that protrudes in a projection direction of the projecting portion from the opening by pressing by the projecting portion. The mover moves the wiper such that the wiper contacts the protruding portion of the absorbent.

Wiping assembly for liquid ejection head and ink jet printer

A printer can comprise an ink head for discharging ink toward a printing medium, and a blowing device for blowing air against the printing medium. The blowing device can comprise a first case that is disposed further rearward, in a direction of movement, than the ink head. The first case can have a first air intake opening for taking in air of the vicinity of the printing medium, a first fan for drawing in air from the first air intake opening and expelling air from a first outlet opening. A second case can be positioned further rearward, in the movement direction Y, than the first air intake opening, and can have a second air intake opening that opens facing upward and a second fan for drawing in air from the second air intake opening and expelling air toward the printing medium from a second outlet opening. The magnitude of the airflow of the first fan can be less than the magnitude of the airflow of the second fan.

A wiping assembly for a liquid ejection head includes a wiper including a first wiper surface facing in a first direction and a second wiper surface facing in a second direction, a wiper cleaner, a mover, and a controller. A protruding portion of the wiper cleaner includes a first cleaning surface facing in the second direction and a second cleaning surface facing in the first direction. The controller controls the mover to move at least one of the wiper and the wiper cleaner in at least one of the first and second directions from a state in which the wiper is located farther in the second direction than the protruding portion to bring the first wiper surface into contact with the first cleaning surface, and to move the at least one of the wiper and the wiper cleaner in at least one of the first and second directions from a state in which the wiper is located farther in the first direction than the protruding portion to bring the second wiper surface into contact with the second cleaning surface.

A printer includes ink heads, an ink head conveyor, caps, a conveyor, suction pumps, opening passages, suction passages, and cap valves. The suction pumps are each provided for an associated one of the caps. The suction passages each connect an associated one of the caps to an associated one of the suction pumps. The conveyorincludes a base, a movable table, a guide wall, and a spring. The movable table supports the caps and includes a table wall extending upward from an end of the movable table facing in a first direction extending to a cap attaching position in a main scanning direction. The cap valves are disposed on a surface of the table wall facing in the first direction.

The present invention is related to a pinch roller lifting mechanism. The pinch roller lifting mechanism includes drive rollers for holding and transferring a medium, the drive rollers arranged adjacent to each other along a first axis, pinch rollers for holding the medium with the drive rollers, a plate-like member extending along the first axis, wherein the plate-like member includes an opening, a support member having a first end section on which the pinch rollers are provided, a cam slidably provided on the plate-like member, the cam comprising a guide section that abuts against a second end section of the support member and engages the opening of the plate-like member, a pulley operationally connected to a drive motor for pulling the plate-like member in a first direction, and a spring that biases the plate-like member in a direction opposite to the first direction.

Pinch roller lifting mechanism

An inkjet printer with a cutting head comprises a linear motion rail, and a linear motion block slidably provided on the linear motion rail. An inkjet head carriage holding an inkjet head and a cutting head carriage holding a cutting head are fixed to the linear motion block through respective mounting parts and moved along the linear motion rail.
