Provided is a device for correcting meandering of a strip material capable of correcting meandering caused in the strip material and conducting stable conveyance even when the meandering amount is small. The device for correcting meandering in a non-contact conveyance of a strip material that supports and conveys the continuously travelling strip material at a non-contact state by floating the strip material using a group of one or more floaters arranged in series, is characterized in that a gas nozzle for jetting a gas to a lower surface of the strip material is disposed in at least one section between the most upstream floater among the floater group and a conveyance roll located immediately upstream of the floater, between adjacent two floaters and between the most downstream floater among the floater group and a conveyance roll located immediately downstream of the floater as a mechanism for imparting tilting to the strip material to operate the tilting of the strip material in the widthwise direction above the floater.

In an optical signal transmission system which can perform high-speed optical transmission not lower than 1 Gbps, VCSEL has light-emission points. A core diameter of an optical fiber GI-POF is set to not lower than 200 &#x3bc;m, and the light-emission points of VCSEL are arranged inside an outer periphery at an end face of GI-POF. A polymerization composition material constituting the core of GI-POF is made of a compound containing deuterated poly methacrylic ester. A wavelength of the light beam of VCSEL is set to the range of 770 nm to 810 nm.

Optical fiber transmission system with a plural emitting point transmitter

There is disclosed a silver halide photographic light-sensitive material which is improved in an antistatic property, curling before and after processing, and surface status after processing. The light-sensitive material includes a support having provided thereon at least one light-sensitive silver halide emulsion layer, wherein the material contains an anionic crosslinked polymer dispersion containing a polymer represented by Formula (I), and the material further contains an anionic water soluble polymer represented by Formula (II): ##STR1## wherein A represents a repetitive unit formed by copolymerizing a crosslinking monomer having at least two copolymerizable ethylenically unsaturated groups; B and E each represent a monomer unit formed by copolymerizing copolymerizable ethylenically unsaturated monomers; R.sup.1 represents a hydrogen atom, a substituted or unsubstituted lower alkyl group, or a halogen atom; L represents a di- to tetravalent linkage group; M represents a hydrogen atom or a cation; m represents 0 or 1; n represents 1, 2 or 3; D represents a monomer unit formed by copolymerizing at least one monomer selected from the group consisting of N,N-dimethylacrylamide, N-acryloylmorpholine and N-acryloylpiperidine; x, y, z, x', y', and z' each represent a percentage of a monomer component, provided that x is from 1 to 70, y is from 0 to 50, z is from 25 to 90, x' is from 1 to 99, y' is from 0 to 50, and z' is from 1 to 99, wherein x+y+z= 100 and x'+y'+z'= 100.

Silver halide photographic light-sensitive material

Stability in preservation after application is improved.

A silver halide photographic emulsion containing at least one of the compounds of formula (I) and at least one of the compounds of formula (III), or further containing at least one of the compounds of formula (II) besides the above at least two compounds: ##STR1## wherein R.sub.0, R.sub.1, R.sub.2, R.sub.3, R.sub.4, R.sub.5, R.sub.6, R.sub.7, R.sub.8, R.sub.9, R.sub.10 and R.sub.11 each represent various groups; X.sub.1.sup..crclbar., X.sub.2.sup..crclbar. and X.sub.3.sup..crclbar. each represent counter anions; l, m and n are each 0 or 1; Z.sub.1 and Z.sub.2 each represent nonmetal atomic groups necessary for forming unsubstituted or substituted benzene rings, or unsubstituted or substituted naphthalene rings; and Z.sub.3 and Z.sub.4 each represent nonmetal atomic groups necessary for forming unsubstituted or substituted naphthalene rings. The silver halide photographic emulsions are enhanced in spectral light-sensitivity of green wavelength region, and photographic light-sensitive materials prepared using these emulsions are not only enhanced in spectral sensitivity of green short wavelength region, but also excellent in inhibiting fog increase and sensitivity lowering during preservation.

A light-sensitive silver halide emulsion is disclosed, which comprises light-sensitive silver halide grains in a binder, wherein tabular grains having a diameter of at least 0.15 .mu.m account for at least 70% of the total projected area of said silver halide grains, said tubular grains have a mean aspect ratio of not more than 8.0, and at least 50% (by number) of all of said tabular grains are tabular grains in which the ratio (b/a) of the thickness (b) of said tabular grain to the longest spacing (a) between two or more parallel twinning planes of said tabular grain is at least 5. A color photographic material using the light-sensitive silver halide emulsion for at least one of the silver halide emulsion layers other than the outermost silver halide emulsion layer is also disclosed.

Light-sensitive silver halide emulsion and color photographic materials

A photosensitive silver halide emulsion whose grain diameter/grain thickness ratio is 5 or more. The grains of the emulsion each comprises a core that consists substantially of silver bromoiodide containing from 4 to 20 mol % of silver iodide, and a shell that covers the core and consists substantially of silver bromide or silver bromoiodide containing 3 mol % or less of silver iodide, and the relative standard deviation of the silver iodide content among the grains of the emulsion is 20% or less.

Photosensitive tabular core/shell silver halide emulsion

A silver halide color photographic material which comprises a support having thereon at least two silver halide light-sensitive layers having essentially the same color sensitivity but different speeds and a light-insensitive layer positioned adjacent to the highest-speed layer of said light-sensitive layers and containing a compound which reacts with the oxidation products of a color developing agent to form a diffusible development restraining compound or a precursor thereof. The photographic material provides a color image having excellent graininess and color reproduction and has excellent characteristics of development processing.

Silver halide color photographic materials having improved development

A silver halide color photographic material comprising a support having thereon at least a layer containing a group of silver halide grains having a relation that the larger an amount of silver of a grain is, the larger an amount of a content of silver iodide therein is, at a correlative coefficient of not less than 0.7 between a silver halide crystal grain size and a silver iodide content therein. The silver halide color photographic material has improved granularity and an improved gradient, and uses a small amount of silver.

A silver halide color light sensitive material with a silver iodobromide photographic emulsion layer is described. The silver iodobromide photographic emulsion contains at least one compound represented by the general formula (I): ##STR1## and at least one compound represented by the general formula (II): ##STR2## (in the general formulae (I) and (II), all symbols are as defined in the appended claims). The surface of silver iodobromide grains of the surface low iodine content type in the photographic emulsion is adsorbed from 10.sup.-7 to 10.sup.-3 mol of iodide ion per mol of silver halide. The silver iodobromide emulsion is spectrally sensitized in a red region without causing any undesirable problems.
