A fluid-filled type vibration damping device including an elastic movable member attached to a partition member. The elastic movable member includes a clasped portion clasped by the partition member and a switching portion provided to an outer peripheral side of the clasped portion and positioned within a second orifice passage. An abutting portion is provided to the switching portion and projects to lengthwise opposite sides of the orifice passage. A switching mechanism is constituted for opening the orifice passage through a gap formed between the switching portion and the inside face of the orifice passage while closing the orifice passage by abutment of the abutting portion against the inside face of the orifice passage by means of a tilting motion of the switching portion relative to the clasped portion through elastic deformation of a thin portion provided between the clasped portion and the switching portion.

Fluid-filled type vibration damping device

A fluid-filled type vibration damping device including a partition member having a moveable film and a short passage interconnecting a pressure receiving chamber and an equilibrium chamber. A valve member that switches between a communicating state and a shut off state of the short passage projects from the moveable film. The valve member has a thick walled part and a thin walled part, the thin walled part being pressed on an inner wall surface of the short passage. A pressure of the pressure receiving chamber is applied through the short passage to a pressure receiving chamber side surface of the thick walled part, while an equilibrium chamber side surface thereof is supported by the partition member. The pressure of the pressure receiving chamber is applied to one side of the thin walled part and a pressure of the equilibrium chamber is applied to another side thereof through the short passage.

A fluid-filled vibration damping device including: a pressure-receiving chamber and an equilibrium chamber disposed on either side of a partition plate, while being connected through a first orifice passage; a moveable film arranged to either a pressure-receiving chamber side or an equilibrium chamber side of the partition plate while being spaced away therefrom to define therebetween an intermediate chamber; a second orifice passage connecting the intermediate chamber and one of the pressure-receiving and the equilibrium chambers while being tuned to higher frequency than the first orifice passage; and a flow straightening plate arranged in opposition to the moveable film at least at one of the intermediate chamber side and an opposite side thereof, the flow straightening plate having a plurality of flow straightening apertures opening towards the moveable film and furnished with a flow limiting member.

Fluid-filled vibration damping device

A fluid-filled type vibration damping device wherein a low-frequency orifice passage and at least one high-frequency orifice passage are formed in a partition member, which is supported by a second mounting member; a valve body is disposed at least at one opening of the high-frequency orifice passage and is provided with a spring member that in a nonloaded state positions the valve body away from the opening of the high-frequency orifice passage to hold the high-frequency orifice passage in an open state; and, at times of vibration input, the valve body is adapted to block the high-frequency orifice passage in opposition to a holding force of the spring member.

An engine mount has: a mount body including an upper and lower fitting of plate shape, and a pair of rubber mount elements of block shape; and an inner tube fitting situated within a through-hole in the upper fitting, formed at a location between the pair of rubber mount elements, and a vibration damping bushing integrally vulcanization bonded with the inner tube fitting and the upper fitting, and connecting the inner and upper fittings in the diametrical direction. The pair of rubber mount elements and the bushing rubber are integrally vulcanization molded. A stopper fitting is affixed within the inner tube fitting, with a vehicle front-back direction fitting stopper portion and/or a left-right direction fitting stopper portion being disposed on the stopper fitting, and a corresponding rubber stopper portion is disposed on the upper fitting side, with the fitting stopper portion and the rubber stopper portion being placed abutting one another.

Engine mount

A fluid filled engine mount including: a pressure-receiving chamber and an equilibrium chamber connected via an orifice passage tuned to a frequency band of engine idling vibrations; an orifice control member operable by means of negative pressure exerted from an external space so as to restrict flow of the fluid through the orifice passage when an absolute value of the exerted negative pressure is greater than a predetermined value; and a negative pressure conduit of direct connection type, adapted to always introduce negative pressure available from an air intake port of an internal combustion engine to the orifice control member.

Pneumatically operated fluid filled engine mount

A fluid-filled vibration-damping device includes an elastic body elastically connecting a first and a second mounting member so as to close one open-end portion of the second mounting member, and a partition member assembled with the second mounting member on one side thereof to form therebetween a pressure-receiving chamber partially defined by the elastic body and assembled with a fixing member on the other side thereof to form an equilibrium chamber partially defined by a flexible layer supported by one pen-end portion of the fixing member. The partition member includes a first and second fixing grooves axially spaced apart from each other with an intermediate portion therebetween, to which the other open-end portions of the second mounting and fixing members are respectively press-fitted, and an air passage for connecting a working air chamber to an external air conduit is open in the intermediate portion.

An arm member is used as, for example, a suspension arm of an automobile. The arm member comprises a main body made of a pipe member and a coupling member having a connecting portion. The pipe member is made of aluminum or its alloy. The coupling member is made of aluminum and includes a bushing mounting portion for mounting a vibroisolating bushing. The thickness of the peripheral wall of the end portion of the main body is increased in thickness to have a thickness thicker than that of the other portion of the main body. The connecting portion is abutted to the peripheral wall of the end portion to form an abutted portion, and connected thereto at the abutted portion. Thus, the coupling member is coupled to the main body.

Arm member

There is disclosed a member for use with an arm that is used as an automobile suspension arm, for example. The member comprises a rodlike body and bushing-mounting portions formed at both ends of the rodlike body. The rodlike body consists of a hollow tube fabricated by extruding an aluminum material into a circular cross section. The bushing-mounting portions are formed by welding bushing-mounting members to both ends of the rodlike body. Each bushing-mounting member has a hole in which a bushing is mounted with a press fit. The curved wall of the rodlike body is recessed at the longitudinal center of the rodlike body. When an automobile having the aforementioned member collides, an axial compressive load is applied to the rodlike body. The rodlike body buckles at the recessed portion. This mitigates the impact in the collision.

Member for arm

A connected structure includes a supporting member and a bushing mounting member connected thereto. The supporting member is made of a pipe having a round cross-sectional shape. The bushing mounting member includes a bushing mounting portion for mounting a bushing having a rubber elastic member and a connecting portion protruded from the bushing mounting portion. The connecting portion is press-fitted into an opening at one end of the supporting member, and the connecting portion and the supporting member are joined together along a circumference of the supporting member by a friction agitation joining method. Accordingly, the connecting member which is light in weight and high in strength with an improved efficiency for utilizing the surrounding space and a predetermined characteristics of a bushing can be obtained.

Connected structure and method for manufacturing the same

A joining structure for joining adjacent members includes a first member and a second member. One end portion of the first member is joined to one end portion of the second member such that protruded portions formed on the one end portion of the first and second members are engaged with corresponding dented portions formed on one end portion of the second and first members, respectively. A hollow joining member is fitted on a joined portion of said first and second members and crimped on the joined portion.

Joining structure for joining adjacent members

A process for producing a vibration isolator. The process involves steps of forming an intermediate product including an axial member, an outside member having a cylinder-shaped portion and a rubber elastic member, and drawing the cylinder-shaped portion with a drawing apparatus provided with a drawing hole at least by pressing the cylinder-shaped portion into the drawing hole. The drawing hole has a predetermined dimensional diameter being smaller than an outer peripheral diameter of the cylinder-shaped portion. Thus, the cylinder-shaped portion is reduced diametrically to plastically deform. The production process can obviate the conventional pressed-in construction in which metallic members contact with each other, can make the manufacture of the vibration isolator easy, and can reduce the manufacturing cost.

Process for producing vibration isolator

A process for producing a vibration isolator includes the steps of preparing an axial member, an outside member, the outside member including a cylinder-shaped portion and a bracket having a hollow, and a cylinder-shaped rubber elastic member, and drawing the cylinder-shaped portion by inserting a stationary mold, with which a drawing apparatus is provided, into the hollow of the outside member so that an outer peripheral surface of the cylinder-shaped portion contacts with the stationary mold, by disposing the rubber elastic member and the axial member inside the cylinder-shaped portion, and by pressing the cylinder-shaped portion onto the stationary mold and simultaneously diametrically reducing the cylinder-shaped portion to plastically deform the same. The production process can obviate the conventional pressed-in construction in which metallic members contact with each other, can make the manufacture of the vibration isolator easy, and can reduce the manufacturing cost.
