When a trouble occurs in a machine tool () sold by a machine tool manufacturer to a customer, a failure analysis apparatus () installed in a service center () of the machine tool manufacturer remotely controls the machine tool () to obtain operation information or alarm information of the machine tool () and performs failure analysis based on such information. In the service center (), a plurality of failure analysis apparatuses () comprising personal computers, and a server () which are connected to the failure analysis apparatuses () for communication and to which a global IP address for the exclusive use is allocated are installed. The operational data storage/transmission devices () gather from the numerical controllers data pertaining to the operational status of the NC machine tools (), store the data and, when specified transmission conditions are met, send the stored operational status data to administration device () in an e-mail data format. With the received operational status data, administration device () updates operational status data it stores, and sends to terminal device (), in response to a request therefrom, machine-tool operational status data identified by user ID information appropriately input through terminal device ().

Operation management system

The invention relates to a maintenance system for machine tool. In the maintenance, system , a user management apparatus connected to a numerical control section of a machine tool , and a manufacturer management apparatus disposed on a side of a manufacturer are connected to each other via Internet . The user management apparatus collects data relating to an operating condition of each driving mechanism of the machine tool , and accumulates the data. When a predetermined transmission condition is satisfied, the user management apparatus transmits the accumulated operating condition data to the manufacturer management apparatus in the form of an electronic mail. The manufacturer management apparatus evaluates the consumption degree of each driving mechanism based on the received operating condition data, and outputs an alarm when the consumption degree exceeds a reference value.

Maintenance system for machine tool

An operation management system according to the present invention is configured so as to connect an operation data accumulation and transmission device connected to an NC unit to an operation management device via telecommunication circuits . The operation data collection and transmission device collects data on an operating condition of a machine tool to store the same in an operation data storage section , and based on the accumulated operating condition data, generates transmit data with a configuration for associating a data-element identifier which defines an item concerning operating condition with operating condition data corresponding to this item to transmit the same to the operation management device. The operation management device analyzes the data-element identifier of the received data, recognizes the operating condition item and updates the operating condition data in databases corresponding to the recognized item by the received operating condition data.
