An information extraction support device includes a receptor, a pattern generator, a data generator, and an output controller. The receptor receives input of a first training example for learning a model used in at least one of extraction of information and extraction of a relation between a plurality of pieces of information, and clue information indicating a basis on which the first training example is used for learning. The pattern generator generates a supervised pattern for generating a training example used for learning, using the first training example and the clue information. The data generator generates a second training example using the supervised pattern. The output controller outputs the second training example and the clue information that is used to generate the supervised pattern having generated the second training example.

According to an embodiment, a material recommendation apparatus includes an extractor, a creator, a matcher and a recommender. The extractor extracts information about a substance as a candidate for a material for an industrial product, a property of the substance, and a report time of the property from an electronic document. The creator creates, for each substance, time series data in which the property is associated with the report time. The matcher matches the time series data with a pattern. The recommender recommends, as the material, a substance corresponding to time series data that matches the pattern.

According to one embodiment, an information extraction supporting apparatus includes a first acquirer, a determiner, a selector and an extractor. The first acquirer acquires a document from which at least one attribute indicating a type of desired information is extracted as an analysis target. The determiner determines whether or not the at least one attribute is valid, and obtains at least one of the valid attributes as one or more attribute candidates. The selector selects an attribute to be used for an analysis from the one or more attribute candidates as a selected attribute. The extractor extracts an expression belonging to the selected attribute from the document as an attribute expression.

According to an embodiment, a text-to-speech device includes a receiver to receive an input text containing a peculiar expression; a normalizer to normalize the input text based on a normalization rule in which the peculiar expression, a normal expression of the peculiar expression, and an expression style of the peculiar expression are associated, to generate normalized texts; a selector to perform language processing of each normalized text, and select a normalized text based on result of the language processing; a generator generate a series of phonetic parameters representing phonetic expression of the selected normalized text; a modifier modifies a phonetic parameter in the normalized text corresponding to the peculiar expression in the input text based on a phonetic parameter modification method according to the normalization rule of the peculiar expression; and a output unit to output a phonetic sound synthesized using the series of phonetic parameters including the modified phonetic parameter.
