An electric conductor is provided for forming a coil upon being bent. The electric conductor includes a pair of electric conductor wires and an insulating coat. The electric conductor wires each have a substantially rectangular cross section and are arranged in alignment with each other in an alignment direction. The alignment direction is perpendicular to corresponding sides of the substantially rectangular cross sections of the electric conductor wires; the corresponding sides have the same length. The insulating coat is formed on outer peripheral surfaces of the electric conductor wires. The insulating coat has a thick portion formed at a boundary between the electric conductor wires. The thick portion is thicker than and protrudes outward from other portions of the insulating coat which adjoin the thick portion in a circumferential direction of the electric conductor.

Electric conductor for coil and rotating electric machine

A stator for an electric rotating machine includes an annular stator core, an outer cylinder fitted on a radially outer surface of the stator core, and a stator coil mounted on the stator core. The stator core is comprised of a plurality of stator core segments that are arranged in a circumferential direction of the stator core so as to adjoin one another in the circumferential direction. The stator coil is fixed to the stator core by a thermosetting resin that is set by induction-heating the stator core. Each of the stator core segments is formed by laminating a plurality of steel sheets in an axial direction of the stator core and fixing at least some of the steel sheets by staking. The number of staking portions formed in one of the steel sheets is different from the number of staking portions formed in another one of the steel sheets.

Stator for electric rotating machine

A stator includes an annular stator core that is comprised of a plurality of stator core segments, an outer ring that is fitted on the radially outer surfaces of the stator core segments so as to fasten them together, and a stator coil mounted on the stator core. Each of the stator core segments is formed of a plurality of stator core sheets that are laminated in the axial direction of the stator core. Each of the stator core sheets has a reinforcement portion that includes a recess formed in one of the major surfaces of the stator core sheet and a protrusion formed on the other major surface. The stator core sheets are laminated so that for each adjoining pair of the stator core sheets, the protrusion of one of the stator core sheets is fitted in the recess of the other stator core sheet.

The stator of an electric rotating machine includes a stator core constituted of a plurality of split cores joined to one another in a ring, a plurality of phase windings wound around the stator core, and an outer casing to an inner periphery of which an outer periphery of the stator core is fitted with clamping margin therebetween. The outer casing is provided with a brim including at least two brim portions at least at one of axial ends thereof. The brim portions are spaced from each other in a circumferential direction of the outer casing and project in a direction receding from a center axis of the outer casing.
