The invention aims to provide a light emitting device comprising a base material or protective member which has improved light transmittance, heat resistance, passivation (gas barrier, oligomer release prevention and minimized outgassing), anti-water or moisture-absorption, stability against chemical degradation, dimensional and shape stability, anti-surface-reflection, electrical insulation, UV degradation resistance, and weather resistance, and is highly productive due to possible film formation under atmospheric pressure, and hence, a light emitting device featuring high reliability, ease of manufacture and low cost. The object is attained by a light emitting device comprising a base material ( ) having flexibility, light transparency and heat resistance, a lower electrode ( ) having light transmittance, a light emitting layer ( ), and an upper electrode ( ) formed on the base material, the device further comprising a silica film and/or a siliceous film ( ) which is formed on the substrate side as viewed from the light emitting layer ( ) or on opposite sides of the substrate by applying polysilazane and subjecting it to oxidative treatment.

Light emitting device

An electronic device, such as a solar cell, having improved moisture, heat, and wear resistance, formed by applying an insulating film over the surfaces of the electronic device utilizing a screen printing process and curing the film with heat. The insulating film is composed of a mixture of two resin components, the first component comprising a polyfunctional blocked isocyanate compound where a dicarbonyl compound is used as a block agent, which dissociates and isocyanate group upon heating, and, a second component comprising a polyol comprising polymers or oligomers having reactive hydroxyl groups which react with isocyante groups to form urethane bonds

Resin composition and an electronic device using the same

In a solar cell, there is provided a method of improving external appearance quality by lowering surface reflection and by making a change of a color tone at openings and portions between electrode patterns, resulting from integrating working, inconspicuous. In the solar cell, at the openings and the portions between the electrode patterns resulting from the integrating working, when seen from a light incident side, since the number of laminated films or the materials are different, colors in appearance become different among the respective regions. In the present invention, an insulating resin layer, a rear electrode layer, a sealing resin layer, and the like are colored by containing pigments or the like so that the colors thereof become similar to the color of a region of a structural portion occupying the great part of the solar cell. The coloring, together with the unevenness of the surface passivation layer, can make the change of the color tone at the openings and the portions between the electrode patterns resulting from the integrating working inconspicuous.

Solar cell and method of fabricating the same

An object of the invention is to provide a coated article having a protective member which is improved in light transparency, heat resistance, and weather resistance, and easy to manufacture, as typified by a solar battery module which experience no deterioration of performance during long-term outdoor installation; and to provide a coated article capable of protecting a functional film or device from water vapor and gases for dramatically improve the life of the functional film or device. These objects are achieved by a coated article having as a protective member a silica coating which is obtained by applying a polysilazane-containing coating solution on at least one surface of a resinous substrate having light transparency and heat resistance under atmospheric pressure, followed by steam oxidation and heat treatment.

Coated article and solar battery module

A hot-melt web has a buffer adhesive layer of a thermosetting resin on a light transmissive, heat resistant resin support. The hot-melt web has the advantages of light transparency, heat resistance, weather resistance, controlled entrainment of bubbles and easy removal of bubbles during thermocompression bonding, provides a sufficient bonding force, and effectively corrects random deformations of a module sheet. The hot-melt web is suitable for use in the bonding, joining and laminating steps in the manufacture of optical discs such as DVD and flat panel displays, is easy to eliminate bubbles, and is effective for improving the quality of an associated product. A laminate using the hot-melt web and a method for preparing the laminate are also provided.

Laminate making method

An object of the invention is to provide a solar battery module having a high efficiency power generating ability, a harmony of design without an odd sensation, and a freedom of design. The object is achieved by a solar battery module comprising, on a light-receiving surface thereof, a photoelectric conversion section for converting incident light into electricity, the photoelectric conversion section comprising silicon, and an insulating color film disposed in regions other than the photoelectric conversion section for reducing a color difference from the photoelectric conversion section.

It is achieved to provide a solar cell in which stability at a connection portion between a circuit substrate of an electric instrument and a rear electrode, and reliability against electrostatic damage are improved, and also to provide a method of fabricating the same. A rear electrode is formed of a material containing carbon as a main ingredient. In formation of the rear electrode, a thermosetting conductive carbon paste is used and the formation is made by a printing method. Further, when the resistance values of the transparent electrode layer and the rear electrode layer are made the same level and are balanced, the resistance against electrostatic damage can be remarkably improved.

A photovoltaic device is provided which can selectively and stably control the color of an intended exterior surface, particularly a light-incident surface side, of the photovoltaic device, and which exhibits high performance. A diffuser layer is provided on a light incident plane side of the photovoltaic device for scattering and dispersing incident light. By providing a coloring layer thereon to color incident light or using a structure where the diffuser layer itself is colored, reduction of photoelectromotive force performance is minimized while adding color to the photovoltaic device.

A novel phthalocyanine compound having improved solubility and high purity and containing a polymerizable vinyl group within its molecule is provided. Intermediates to this phthalocyanine compound also have improved solubility and high purity. Further, with the novel phthalocyanine compound used as a starting monomer, a novel polymer is obtained which has a high content of (metal) phthalocyanine and is easy to control the orientation of phthalocyanine rings. The polymer having improved solubility and high purity is expected of use as functional material such as catalysts and recording material.
