Provided is an in-vehicle camera shield state determination device which determines a shield state of an external camera of a vehicle, the device determines whether or not shield is detected by image processing of a captured image, determines whether or not an object is close to the vehicle in an imaging direction of the external camera, based on a detection result of an external sensor of the vehicle, determines whether or not the external camera is in the shield state, based on a detection result of a shield detection unit and a determination result of a proximity determination unit, and even if shield is detected by image processing of the captured image, when it is determined that the object is close to the vehicle in the imaging direction of the external camera, it is not determined that the external camera is in the shield state.

The relief valve includes a biasing force adjustment mechanism including a spring of which one end is held at the first recessed portion, a support portion retaining the other end of the spring and including a closed-end cylindrical shape, and a motor adjusting a rotational angle and causing the support portion to reciprocate.

An oil supply apparatus supplies oil from an oil pump driven by an engine preferentially to a valve timing control unit. In the oil supply apparatus, a first discharge opening and a second discharge opening having an opening area larger than that of the first discharge opening are formed such that a pressurized region of the oil pump is divided into the two discharge openings. The oil from the first discharge opening is fed to a controlling oil passage through a first discharge port and then supplied to the valve timing controller from the controlling oil passage. The oil from the second discharge opening is fed to a lubricating oil passage through the second discharge port and then supplied to a main gallery from the lubricating oil passage.

A reciprocating type compressor such as a swash plate type compressor includes single headed pistons movably arranged in the cylinder bores formed in the cylinder block. The cylinder block has an extension wall laterally extending therefrom to form a first muffling chamber and the cylinder head has an extension wall laterally extending therefrom to form a second muffling chamber. A valve plate or a gasket has an extension seal portion integrally formed therewith and arranged between the extension walls of the cylinder block and the cylinder head to seal the end rims around the end openings of the first and second muffling chambers together.

A reciprocating compressor includes double headed pistons forming front and rear sets of compression chambers on either side thereof and a pair of tapered rotary valves arranged for introducing a coolant gas into the compression chambers. The valves are urged into contact with valve chambers by springs and a drive shaft is urged in one axial direction by a prestress mechanism. The valve urging force for one rotary valve is different from the valve urging force for the other rotary valve, so that the rotary valves operate at different times and over different distances and the movements of the rotary valves are controlled to move the drive shaft in the same axial direction as the direction of the prestress mechanism.

A piston-reciprocating type compressor has a disk mounted on a rotary drive shaft and operably coupled to a piston. The piston compresses refrigerant gas in a cylinder bore with a compressive force according a cooling load. A retaining chamber formed in the vicinity of an end of the drive shaft. A partition is housed in the retaining chamber. Two recesses are formed with the opposite sides of the partition in the moveable manner. The compressed gas is supplied to the recesses under pressure in proportion to the cooling load. A thrust bearing which connects with the partition supports an end of the drive shaft. The drive that is biased in the direction counter to a thrust load acting on the drive shaft.

Support structure for rotary shaft of compressor

A rotary valve is supported on a rotary shaft for an integral rotation. The rotary valve has a suction passage and a discharge passage. The suction passage connects a cylinder bore with a suction chamber according to the rotation of the rotary valve when a piston is in the suction stroke. The discharge passage connects the cylinder bore with a discharge chamber according to the rotation of the rotary valve when the piston is in the discharge stroke. The discharge passage includes a first passage and a second passage. The second passage communicates with the cylinder bore after the first passage has communicated with the cylinder bore after the first passage has communicated with the cylinder bore according to the rotation of the rotary valve. A discharge valve is mounted on the rotary valve. The discharge valve selectively opens and closes the first passage according to the difference between the pressures in the cylinder bore and in the discharge chamber.

Reciprocating piston compressor

A piston type compressor is disclosed, which includes pistons disposed in bores of a cylinder block, to be reciprocated by a piston driving mechanism in cooperation with a drive shaft. A valve receiving chamber is formed around the drive shaft in the cylinder block, for receiving a rotary valve to rotate together with the drive shaft. The rotary valve has a suction passage formed therein for providing gases from a gas suction chamber to a compression chamber defined in each bore. A plurality of communication passages are formed in the cylinder block in association with the compression chambers, to provide gas communication between the compression chambers and the valve's suction passage. A bypass passage is formed on the rotary valve, and permits one communication passage, associated with one of the compression chambers which is at a final stage of a compression stroke, to communicate with another communication passage, associated with another compression chamber which is at a start stage of the compression stroke. The compressor further includes a device, provided on an outer surface of each piston, for catching gas axially leaking along the outer surface of the piston. The gas catching device guides gas, caught by the gas catching device at the final stage of the compression stroke, to the communication passage corresponding to its associated compression chamber.
