A sheath () of an aluminum electric wire () is peeled, a distal end of an exposed conductor part () is tightened and connected after being placed in a conductor crimping part () of a crimped terminal () while being recessed to be further inside than the distal end of the conductor crimping part (), and the distal end section of the conductor crimping part () of the crimped terminal () which forms an empty space where there is not the conductor part is welded and sealed.

A wire-equipped crimp terminal includes a wire, a crimp terminal and a coating agent. The wire has a conductor exposed from an insulative sheath. The crimp terminal has a crimping piece which is press-deformed to embrace the conductor. The coating agent is coated to a first part of the crimp terminal. A recess is formed at a non-coating part of the crimp terminal where the coating agent is not coated. The coating agent is cured by irradiating light or an electron beam to the first part in a state where a part of the coating agent flowing out from the first part is received in the recess.

Method of curing a coating agent on a crimp terminal

A connector includes a housing formed with a plurality of terminal insertion holes into which a plurality of terminal metal fittings is inserted, respectively, and a spacer arranged inside the housing and coating the plurality of terminal metal fittings. The spacer includes main bodies fixed inside the housing, and a plurality of slit doors provided in the main bodies and divided into a plurality of small pieces by a plurality of slits. Each of the slit doors elastically deforms by abutting a terminal metal fitting inserted into a terminal insertion hole when the terminal metal fitting passes therethrough, and is brought into contact with the terminal metal fitting when the terminal metal fitting is attached to the housing.

Connector and coating member used for the same

A method of waterproofing a crimping part of a crimp terminal where a wire is crimped includes a step of forming a waterproof structure. The waterproofing structure seals a crimping region containing the crimping part with an adhesive tape. The adhesive tape has waterproofing performance and has a thickness no more than a predetermined value.
