There is provided a liquid discharge apparatus including: a conveyer; head chips; a circulation channel; and a controller. Each head chip includes a manifold; a nozzle group, and actuators. Each head chip is configured to execute discharge drive and non-discharge vibration drive. The head chips include: an end head chip; a facing head chip facing the recording medium; and a non-facing head chip not facing the recording medium. The controller is configured to make at least one of a circulation flowing amount of a liquid in the circulation channel in the facing head chip and a frequency of the non-discharge vibration drive by an actuator included in the actuators in the facing head chip larger than those of the non-facing head chip.

An actuator device includes: an actuator including piezoelectric elements arranged in a first direction and first contacts arranged in the first direction; a protector including a first wall opposed to the piezoelectric elements and a second wall coupled to the first wall and joined to a region of the actuator at which the first contacts are disposed; first connection terminals disposed on the first; and first through electrodes formed in the second wall to bring the first contacts and the first connection terminals into conduction with each other. A distance between two of the first through electrodes which respectively correspond to two of the piezoelectric elements which are adjacent to each other in the first direction is greater than a distance in the first direction between the two of the piezoelectric elements which are adjacent to each other in the first direction.

Actuator device and liquid ejection apparatus

A liquid discharging head includes a channel member having a nozzle surface formed with first nozzles, second nozzles, third nozzles and fourth nozzles. The channel member is formed with: a first distributing channel communicating with a first storage chamber and extending in a first direction, a second distributing channel communicating with a second storage chamber, extending in the first direction, and arranged side by side to the first distributing channel in a second direction, a first common channel communicating with the first nozzles, a second common channel communicating with the second nozzles, a third common channel communicating with the third nozzles, and a fourth common channel communicating with the fourth nozzles. The first to fourth common channels each extend in a third direction crossing the first and second directions, and partially overlaps with the first and second distributing channels in a fourth direction orthogonal to the nozzle surface.

Liquid discharging head

An actuator device includes: an actuator including first contacts arranged in a first direction; and a wire member including second contacts and joined to the actuator. The second contacts are arranged in the first direction and respectively connected to the first contacts. Each of particular contacts as the first contacts or the second contacts has a protruding and recessed portion including: at least two protrusions; and a recess between the at least two protrusions. The particular contacts include: at least one central-region contact disposed on a central region in the first direction; and at least one end-region contact disposed nearer to an end region than to the central region in the first direction. The protruding and recessed portion of each of the at least one central-region contact is different in shape from the protruding and recessed portion of each of the at least one end-region contact.

Method of manufacturing an actuator device

A liquid ejecting head includes: a plurality of liquid ejecting modules each including a plurality of head units and a first plate, a second plate, and a protrusion. The plurality of liquid ejecting modules is arrayed in a first direction. The first plate has a first surface to which the plurality of head units is fixed and a second surface opposite to the first surface. The first plate has a thickness in a second direction. The second plate is disposed at the second surface of the first plate so as to extend along the plurality of liquid ejecting modules. The protrusion protrudes from the second plate in a direction away from the first plate.

There is provided a method of manufacturing a liquid discharge head, including: forming a stacked body having a structure and a protective member stacked on the structure, providing a first mask on an upper surface of the protective member to cover a through hole; forming a protective film by an atomic layer deposition on a surface defining a liquid flow channel of the stacked body provided with the first mask; and removing the first mask after forming the protective film.

A liquid discharge head includes: a first channel member including a liquid channel. There is provided a liquid discharge head including: a channel substrate including a pressure chamber; a support substrate having a through hole; a piezoelectric element disposed between the channel substrate and the support substrate in a thickness direction of the channel substrate; a drive section disposed on a surface of the support substrate on a side opposite to the piezoelectric element; a trace passing through the through hole of the support substrate, extending on the support substrate toward the drive section, and connected to the piezoelectric element and the drive section; and a reservoir member including a channel communicating with the pressure chamber, and joined to the surface of the support substrate with adhesive. A protrusion or a recess is provided on the surface of the support substrate on the side opposite to the piezoelectric element at a position between the trace and the channel.

Liquid discharge head and method of producing liquid discharge head

A liquid ejection head includes: nozzles; a channel member including a plurality of pressure chambers each in communication with a corresponding one of the nozzles; and a plurality of piezoelectric elements corresponding to the pressure chambers. Each piezoelectric element includes: a vibrating film covering the corresponding pressure chamber; a piezoelectric film positioned opposite to the pressure chamber with respect to the vibrating film; a first electrode interposed between the vibrating film and the piezoelectric film; and a second electrode having compressive stress and positioned opposite to the vibrating film with respect to the piezoelectric film. The piezoelectric film has a ratio of (001) orientation to (100) orientation that is equal to or greater than 50%. The vibrating film and the piezoelectric film are deflected convexly toward the corresponding pressure chamber while no potential difference is produced between the first electrode and the second electrode.

A liquid jetting apparatus comprises a flow passage member which has a pressure chamber communicated with a nozzle and a liquid supply port communicated with the pressure chamber; a piezoelectric element with which the flow passage member is provided so that the piezoelectric element is overlapped with the pressure chamber; a protective member which is arranged on the flow passage member so that the piezoelectric element is covered therewith; and a supply member which is formed with a supply flow passage communicated with the liquid supply port of the flow passage member and which is adhered to extend over the flow passage member and the protective member; wherein a layer of a first adhesive to adhere the protective member and the supply member is thicker than a layer of a second adhesive to adhere the flow passage member and the supply member.

Liquid jetting apparatus

An actuator device includes an actuator substrate having actuators, individual conductors electrically connected with the actuators respectively, and dummy conductors; and a bonding member bonded to a surface of the actuator substrate provided with the individual conductors and the dummy conductors. The individual conductors are aligned in an alignment direction to form a first row and a second row arranged in an orthogonal direction orthogonal to the alignment direction. In a first end portion of the actuator substrate on one side in the alignment direction, first individual conductors are aligned in the alignment direction without intervening second individual conductors therebetween. In a second end portion of the actuator substrate on the other side in the alignment direction, the second individual conductors are aligned in the alignment direction without intervening the first individual conductors therebetween.

Actuator device

There is provided a liquid discharge apparatus which includes a channel substrate having a nozzle, a pressure chamber which communicates with the nozzle, an actuator which covers the pressure chamber, and a contact point that is electrically connected to the actuator, and a circuit board which has wires that are to be electrically connected to contact points, and which is adhered to the channel substrate. The channel substrate includes an adhesive wall which is provided with contact points, and which has a surface to which an adhering portion of the circuit board to be adhered to the channel substrate, is adhered, and further includes a wall portion which is provided with a cavity on a side of the adhesive wall, opposite to the surface, and which demarcates the cavity on a side opposite to the surface, of the adhesive wall, and the adhering portion is facing the cavity and the wall portion.

A liquid ejection apparatus, including: first piezoelectric elements arranged on an element-disposed surface in a first direction; a protective cover covering the first piezoelectric elements and including a top wall portion and two side wall portions connected thereto; first wires drawn respectively from the first piezoelectric elements to an outside of the protective cover in a second direction parallel to the element-disposed surface and orthogonal to the first direction and extending on an outer surface of the top wall portion via an outer surface of a corresponding side wall portion; first terminals disposed on the outer surface of the top wall portion and connected respectively to the first wires; and a driver electrically connected to the first terminals, wherein a distance in the first direction between any adjacent two of the first wires on an outer surface of the protective cover is larger than that on the element-disposed surface.
