A structure allows more efficient simulation using preliminary obtained image data for a target such as a workpiece. A simulator includes a creating unit that virtually creates a simulation target system in a three-dimensional virtual space, a measurement unit that performs image measurement of preliminary obtained image data using a visual sensor and outputs a measurement result, a reception unit that receives a setting of an imaging area defined for the visual sensor in a manner associated with the created system, a calculation unit that calculates a transform parameter based on a relative positional relationship between the created system and the set imaging area, and an execution unit that receives an input of a result obtained by transforming the measurement result generated by the measurement unit using the transform parameter, and executes a control operation in accordance with a control program associated with the system.

An image processing apparatus, connected to an imaging part to capture an image of workpieces conveyed on a conveyer, includes an interface that receives a signal indicating a travel distance of the conveyer, an interface that communicates with a control device for controlling a moving machine disposed downstream of an imaging area of a imaging part, a positional information acquisition unit that processes the image captured by the imaging part and thereby acquiring positional information of a pre-registered workpiece in the image, a travel distance obtaining unit that obtains the travel distance of the conveyer synchronized with the control device, an initiating unit that initiates the capturing by the imaging part in response to an imaging command, and a transmission unit that transmits, to the control device, the positional information and the travel distance upon the capturing of the image used to acquire the positional information.

Image processing apparatus and image processing system for conveyor tracking

A control system executes a first control operation, and then executes a second control operation. In the first control operation, the image processing section obtains the image data and specifies a position of a characteristic part. The control section determines a control instruction for accelerating an object to a predetermined first speed based on the specified position of the characteristic part and then decelerating the object to a predetermined second speed lower than the first speed, to move the object to an intermediate target position away from the final target position by a predetermined margin distance. In the second control operation, the image processing section obtains the image data during movement of the moving mechanism and specifies the position of the characteristic part, and the control section determines a control instruction for positioning the object to the final target position based on the specified position of the characteristic part.

An image processing apparatus includes a camera interface section connected to an imaging section, a plurality of arithmetic processing sections that process the image data; a display screen output section to output display image data; an input section that accepts input from an outside; a storage section for storing a plurality of processing units used to process the image data; a processing registration section that registers a processing procedure including a combination of the processing units; a mode selection section that selectably displays a plurality of parallel processing modes indicating kinds of parallel processing and accepts the selection of the parallel processing mode from the input section; and a parallelization section that allocates processing units included in the target processing procedure to one of the plurality of arithmetic processing sections according to the parallel processing mode.
