An isoxazole compound having the following formula: ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 represents hydrogen, halogen, alkyl, alkoxy, hydroxyl, alkylthio, amino, alkanoyl, alkanoylamino, alkanoyloxy, alkoxycarbonyl, carboxy, (alkylthio)thiocarbonyl, carbamoyl, nitro or cyano; R.sup.2 represents an amino; m is 2 or 3; n is 1 to 6; ring A represents a phenyl ring, a naphthyl ring or an aromatic heterocycle; and X represents oxygen or sulfur. The isoxazole compound has an excellent monoamine oxidase inhibitory activity, and is useful for treating Parkinson's disease, depression and Alzheimer's disease.

Isoxazole derivatives

An isoxazole compound having the following formula: wherein R.sup.1 represents hydrogen, halogen, alkyl, alkoxy, hydroxyl, alkylthio, amino, alkanoyl, alkanoylamino, alkanoyloxy, alkoxycarbonyl, carboxy, (alkylthio)thiocarbonyl, carbamoyl, nitro or cyano; R.sup.2 represents an amino; m is 1; n is 1 to 6; ring A represents a phenyl ring or a naphthyl ring; and X represents oxygen or sulfur. The isoxazole compound has an excellent monoamine oxidase inhibitory activity, and is useful for treating Parkinson's disease, depression and Alzheimer's disease.

The invention relates to a golf club head and a method of manufacturing the same, the external surface of which a plate is attached as a sole plate or face plate. A pair of protruding pieces which protrude approximately in the opposite direction with respect to the center of the plate are provided in the periphery of the plate, and the protruding pieces are respectively embedded in a head body of the golf club head. The ends of the protruding pieces are extended so that they are exposed onto the external surface of the head body. By this arrangement, the plate can be positively fixed to a predetermined position without causing removal from the head body, and thus there is no possibility that the plate comes off from the head body even if an impact is given to the head body when a ball is hit.

Golf club head and method of manufacturing the same

The invention relates a golf club head with a structure which can stabilize the direction of the hit ball and can enhance a ball hitting feeling. In the golf club head, a recessed portion is formed in a face portion of a head main body formed of metal with the peripheral edge portion of the face portion remaining unrecessed. A face plate formed of material smaller in specific gravity than the head main body is mounted to the recessed portion. A frame member formed of material larger in specific gravity than the head main body and softer than the face plate and head main body is held by and between the peripheral wall of the face plate and the peripheral wall of the recessed portion.

The invention concerns a golf club head in which by fully utilizing restitution characteristics of a face plate made of a high-elasticity material, the directional stability of a ball and a flying distance are enhanced, and also a good ball-hitting feel is obtained. In the golf club head of the invention, a through hole is formed through a face portion of a metal head body with a peripheral portion thereof remaining. A face plate, which is smaller in specific gravity than the head body, is mounted on the face portion in such a manner that the face plate is supported by a fitting recess portion formed at a peripheral edge portion of the through hole. A vibration-absorbing member, which is lower in elasticity than the face plate, is mounted on a back surface of the face plate in spaced relation to the head body.

Golf club head

A main body of a hollow cylindrical member is formed of a wound preimpregnation sheet made of reinforcing fibers impregnated with synthetic resins. A synthetic resins layer with a metallic member is provided onto an outer periphery of the main body for reinforcing and/or decorative property. The metallic member is in the form of a thin film bonded to an outer periphery of the synthetic resins layer or a net-like metallic member embedded in the layer.

An iron club and a set of the iron clubs which are improved to ensure a stable directional controllability and a flight of the hitted ball to the target, and to increase the flight distance of the hitted ball. The iron club is characterized in that a recessed portion is defined on a back portion of a head of the club, except for a peripheral portion thereof, so that the thickness of a face portion gradually decreases from the top, sole, toe, and the heal sides toward a sweet spot, and a thin portion which has the minimum thickness being provided on the sweet spot.

Hollow cylindricall member

In a metal golf club head, a recess portion with a closed bottom is formed in a bottom surface of a hollow shell cast of metal, and a sole plate, made of metal greater in specific gravity than the shell, is received in and secured to the recess portion in such a manner that the sole plate lies flush with that portion of the bottom surface disposed adjacent to a peripheral edge of the recess portion. The sole plate can withstand an impact produced when hitting a ball, and is prevented from becoming disengaged from the shell.

In a golf club set, a face plate made of a material that is lower in specific gravity and elastic modulus than that of a head body of each golf club, is mounted on a face portion of the head body. The thicknesses of the face plates of the golf clubs increase in the order of the golf clubs of large club numbers to those of small club numbers. Further, a through hole may be formed through the head body of each golf club to extend from a face portion thereof to a back portion thereof. In this case, the face plate is mounted on the face portion of the head body, while closing the through hole.

Golf club set

A golf club head capable of enhancing a moment of inertia and improving a directional stability of a ball. In the golf club head, a flange is formed on a peripheral portion of a back side of a head body, and projects rearwardly from the head body to thereby form a cavity in the back side, and a weight member, made of a material larger in specific gravity than the head body is secured within a recessed formed in outer peripheral surface of the flange. The weight is positioned at a top and a sole side of the head body so as to evenly distribute the weight over the outer peripheral surface of the flange.

The invention concerns a golf club head in which a sole plate secured to a sole portion is prevented from dislodgment therefrom, while keeping the center of gravity of the golf club head low. In the golf club head, a sole plate, made of a material greater in specific gravity than a metal head body formed into a hollow construction having a single internal chamber, is mounted on a sole portion of the head body. A support portion having a plurality of holes is formed integrally with the head body so that an upper surface of the sole plate is held against the support portion. In an embodiment, the support portion is formed into a lattice-shape.

The invention concerns an arrangement for a golf club head, which can enhance the surface rigidity of the ball hitting surface of a face plate to extend the carry of the ball and to stabilize the direction of the hit ball. In the golf club head, a recessed portion is formed in the back portion of a head main body formed of metal with the peripheral edge portion thereof remaining unrecessed, and a support portion having a thickness smaller than the peripheral edge portion is provided integrally with the head main body in such a manner that it is interposed between the mutually facing inner walls of the recessed portion.
