A multi(meth)acrylate-functionalized oligomer has a polyurethane backbone, a plurality of (meth)acrylate groups pendant to the polyurethane backbone, and one or more terminal (meth)acrylate groups. The oligomer contains a) at least one multi(meth)acrylate-functionalized segment having at least two pendant (meth)acrylate groups, b) urethane-containing segments, c) at least one end-cap segment having at least one (meth)acrylate group, and, optionally, d) a chain-extending segment (such as a non-polymeric aliphatic segment, polyether-containing segment, polyester-containing segment, polydiene-containing segment, polycarbonate-containing segment or polyorganosiloxane-containing segment). At least one multi(meth)acrylate-functionalized segment is located at a pendant position and at least one (meth)acrylate group is present at one or more terminal positions of the oligomer. The multi(meth)acrylate-functionalized oligomers are useful in compositions which can be cured, including by photocuring, to provide polymeric articles. The oligomer may be a reaction product of a diisocyanate, a diol or triol compound comprising, respectively, two or three (meth)acrylate groups, and an end-capping compound.

Multi(meth)acrylate-functionalized oligomers and methods of preparing and using such oligomers

Compounds useful for formulating inks, 3D printing resins, molding resins, coatings, sealants and adhesives which exhibit reduced shrinkage stress and high hardness and stiffness when cured are described which include a single free radical-polymerizable functional group, one or more urethane and/or ureido linkages and one or more cyclic structural elements per molecule.

Curable compositions include: a) at least one (meth)acrylate monomer or oligomer and b) at least one mono-functional (meth)acrylate monomer comprising a polycyclic moiety having at least three rings that are fused or condensed. The compositions may comprise an initiator system to render the compositions as curable. The compositions may comprise both the a) and b) components in an amount from about 30% to about 70% by weight. The compositions described herein are advantageous with respect to properties such as viscosity, toughness, tensile strength and tensile elongation. Due to their advantageous properties, the compositions are viable for a wide range of applications including coatings, adhesives, sealants, inks and stereolithography. The compositions are liquid at ambient temperature and impart a high glass transition temperature, Tg, without sacrificing other properties, such as elongation. The compositions are useful in 3D printing.

Curable compositions comprising mono-functional acrylates

The present invention includes silicon-containing (meth)acrylate compounds of formula (I): where A is a C-Corganic moiety such as an alkyl or aryl moiety, B is a silane functional group, C is a (meth)acrylate functional group and D is an allyl functional group, with w=0 or 1, z=0, 1 or 2, x=1, 2 or 3, y=1, 2 or 3 and w+x+y+z=4. The compounds are suitable for use in curable compositions, such as peroxide-curable compositions or radiation-curable compositions and may be applied to a substrate as a coating or sealant, for example. Compositions containing the silicon-containing (meth)acrylate compounds may have reduced volatility and odor problems along with improved adhesion to substrates, increased crosslink density and/or improved hardness.

Silicon-containing (meth) acrylate compounds

A compound which is the Michael addition reaction product of (A) a mono or polyacrylate of the formula R(Ac)wherein Ris an organic radical having at least 2 carbon atoms, Ac is an acrylate radical of the formula CH&#x2550;CHC(O)O&#x2014;, and n is from at least 1; with (B) is a primary or secondary amine of the formula RNHR, wherein Ris a polyhydroxyl radical and Ris H or an organic radical having at least one carbon atom is disclosed. The compound is useful as, for example, an oxygen barrier, flame retardant, polymer flocculant, surfactant, and/or high hydroxyl-functional intermediate.

Polar, multi-hydroxyl functional amino compounds, compositions, process for preparation, their uses and applications

A composition comprising a polymer according to Structure 1 wherein R is H, Me, Et or CH; R' is H or Me; R&#x2033; is H or Me; n=1 to 100; and Z=1 to 3, is disclosed. The composition can be cured and used in a wide range of articles such as a photopolymer printing plate, sealant, caulk, encapsulent, road marking paint, photoresist, binder, impact modifier, polymer modifier, oxygen or water vapor barrier coating, conformal coating, solder mask, pigment dispersion, stereolithograph, laminating resin, grafted co-polymer, composite, optical fiber coating, paper coating, metal coating, glass coating, plastic coating, wood coating, waterproofing material, electrical insulating material, automotive belt or hose, tire, engine mount, gasket, golf ball core, and rubber roll.
