A timing controller is provided. A data enable signal in a timing control module is regenerated by a signal regenerating module. A number of vertical valid display rows is regenerated as a vertical valid display period. A total charge time of all rows of pixels in each frame can be increased effectively. A horizontal blanking period is changed sequentially in a row-by-row manner, thereby compensating charge effects of rows of pixels accurately.

The present application converts a display image into control information through a driver board, and can precisely control a mini-LED backlight. The present invention teaches a method for removing backlight mura. The method divides backlight into partitions, and divides each partition into units. The method then selects one of the partitions as a reference partition and selects the compensation values of the reference partition from all partitions. The method further calculates brightness difference values for all partitions other than the reference partition relative to the brightness of the reference partition. Finally, the method conduct brightness compensation to the other partitions based on the reference partition's compensation values, and the brightness difference values of the other partitions. The method may not only effectively eliminate backlight mura, but also allow the direct-lit backlight module to be thinner or of lower cost, and significant reduce storage requirement and logic resource.

The driving method includes: creating a position lookup table provided with a first value and a second value respectively indicating a sub-pixel not requiring grayscale compensation and a target sub-pixel requiring grayscale compensation and further for indicating which reference sub-pixel will be used for performing grayscale compensation; creating a compensation lookup table and setting a compensated grayscale value of the target sub-pixel according to a one-to-one relationship between a current grayscale value of the target sub-pixel and a grayscale value of a corresponding reference sub-pixel; and during driving the liquid crystal panel to display, determining the target sub-pixel requiring grayscale compensation and obtaining the corresponding reference sub-pixel according to the position lookup table, obtaining the compensated grayscale value from the compensation lookup table and driving the target sub-pixel to display according to the compensated grayscale value.
