A machine learning apparatus includes: a state observation unit that observes a characteristic shape, an adopted plan, and a determination result as state variables, the characteristic shape representing a shape of a part of a product of wire electric discharge machining, adjustment of machining conditions being deemed as necessary for the part of the product, the adopted plan being an adjustment method selected from among one or more adjustment methods for adjusting the machining conditions to improve machining performance for the part indicated by the characteristic shape, the determination result indicating whether implementation of the adopted plan is effective in improving machining performance for the part corresponding to the characteristic shape; and a learning unit that learns the machining condition adjustment method according to a data set created based on the state variables.

A wire electrical discharge machining apparatus capable of improving the shape precision of a continuous corner part includes a corner speed coefficient calculation device calculating a machining speed ratio between a middle corner section and a straight part from a machining volume ratio between the straight part and the middle corner section in which machining volume becomes a constant value. A corner speed coefficient interpolation device interpolates a speed coefficient calculated by the corner speed coefficient calculation device in a pre-corner section and a post-corner section. A speed reference calculation device calculates a machining speed reference based on a representative speed and the corner speed coefficient, and a drive control device controls a drive device. A continuous corner detection device determines whether continuous corner sections overlap each other when the length of the straight part connecting two corner parts is shorter than the length of the pre-corner section.

Wire electrical discharge machining apparatus

A wire electrical discharge machining apparatus includes an NC control device, and the NC control device determines, during taper machining, whether the type of machining is a type (first type) in which an upper die is located on a workpiece side in comparison with a lower die or a type (second type) in which the upper die is located on the side opposite to the workpiece in comparison with the lower die on the basis of a machining program and corrects the positional relationship between the upper die and the lower die in accordance with the determined type of machining.

Wire electrical discharge machining apparatus and machining method

The automatic wire-threading device includes a wire feed motor that drives a wire feed roller in a feeding direction, a wire-feed-motor control unit that outputs a feeding-direction rotation-speed reference to the wire feed motor at a time of a threading operation of a wire electrode and that reduces torque in a feeding direction when a detected rotation speed of the wire feed roller is larger than the feeding-direction rotation-speed reference, a wire collecting motor that drives a wire collecting roller in a collecting direction, and a wire-collecting-motor control unit that outputs a predetermined wire-collecting-roller speed reference to the wire collecting motor to collect a wire. The wire-feed-motor control unit limits torque so that an absolute value of motor torque in a winding-back direction of a wire feed roller is smaller than an absolute value of motor torque in a feeding direction.

Automatic wire-threading device

A wire travelling device including a wire-feed-roller circumferential-speed calculation unit and a wire-collection roller circumferential-speed calculation unit that calculate each circumferential speed of the wire feed roller and the wire collection roller, a circumferential-speed-difference holding unit that calculates a difference between the circumferential speed of the wire feed roller and the circumferential speed of the wire collection roller as a circumferential speed difference and holds therein the calculated circumferential speed difference, and a wire-feed-roller speed control unit and a wire-collection roller speed control unit that control the wire feed roller and the wire collection roller, in changing a traveling speed of the wire, by a wire-feed-roller speed instruction value and a wire-collection roller speed instruction value generated so that the circumferential speed difference before changing the traveling speed of the wire is maintained after the changing.
