Provided is a substrate for superconductive film formation, which includes a metal substrate, and an oxide layer formed directly on the metal substrate, containing chromium oxide as a major component and having a thickness of 10-300 nm and an arithmetic average roughness Ra of not more than 50 nm. A method of manufacturing a substrate for superconductive film formation, which includes forming an oxide layer directly on a metal substrate, the oxide layer containing chromium oxide as a major component and having a thickness of 10-300 nm and an arithmetic average roughness Ra of not more than 50 nm.

Substrate for fabricating superconductive film, superconductive wires and manufacturing method thereof

The present invention is configured such that, in a low AC loss oxide superconductor constituted by providing an oxide superconducting layeron a substrate, said oxide superconducting layeris separated into a plurality of filament conductorsin parallel to the lengthwise direction of said substrateby dividing groovesplurally formed in the widthwise direction of said substrate, and a high-resistance oxideis formed in said dividing grooves. Because of the invention, it is possible to increase the insulation properties of individually divided mated filament conductors, and to obtain an oxide superconductor that has low AC loss.

Low alternating-current loss oxide superconductor and fabricating method thereof

A production process of a thick-film tape-shaped RE-type (123) superconductor having a high critical current value. The production process has the steps of providing a composite substrate having GdZrOand CeOstacked in that order onto a Hastelloy substrate, coating a raw material solution prepared by dissolving a trifluoroacetate of Y and Ba and a naphthenate of Cu onto the composite substrate, heat treating the coated composite substrate by calcination, then subjecting the calcined assembly to intermediate heat-treatment at a temperature below the temperature of heat-treatment for superconductor production, and then heat treating the assembly in an argon gas atmosphere under conditions of highest heating temperature 760&#xb0; C., water vapor partial pressure 13.5%, and oxygen partial pressure 0.09% for superconductor production to produce a tape-shaped RE-type (123) superconductor having a YBCO superconducting film having a thickness of more than about 2 &#x3bc;m.

Process for producing thick-film tape-shaped re-type (123) superconductor

A RE-type oxide superconducting wire having excellent angular dependence for magnetic field of Jc is obtained by finely dispersing magnetic flux pinning centers into a superconductor. A mixed solution which comprises a metal-organic complex solution including a metal element which composes a RE-type oxide superconductor whose Ba content is reduced and a metal-organic complex solution including at least one or more kinds of metals which are selected from Zr, Ce, Sn, or Ti which has a larger affinity for Ba is coated onto an intermediate layer of a composite substrate, and the assembly is then calcined to disperse artificially and finely oxide particles (magnetic flux pinning centers) including Zr. Thus, the angular dependence for magnetic field (Jc/Jc) of Jc can be remarkably improved.

A current terminal structure of a superconductor has a former, and a superconducting wire wound around the former in one or more layers and including a substrate and a superconducting layer formed on the substrate. A method of manufacturing a tape-formed oxide superconductor, in which a tape-formed wire material (in FIG.) is extended between a pair of reels (and). Besides, a reactive gas is supplied form the gas supply ports of a reactive gas supply pipe () vertically to the upper side film surface of the tape-formed wire material (), so as to react the film body of this tape-formed wire material into a superconducting layer, while at the same time, a gas after the reaction is discharged from the gas discharge ports of discharge pipes (and) for discharging the gas after the reaction. Likewise, the reactive gas is supplied vertically to the lower side film surface of the tape-formed wire material (), so as to react the film body of this tape-formed wire material into a superconducting layer, while at the same time, the gas after the reaction is discharged from the gas discharge ports of discharge pipes (and) for discharging the gas after the reaction. Even when the tape-formed wire material () is large in area, the tape-formed oxide superconductor has superconducting characteristics being uniform in it widthwise direction, and it can be manufactured at high speed.

Method of and apparatus for manufacturing tape-formed oxide superconductor

Tape-shaped superconducting wires, and a superconducting coil formed from said wires, wherein a plurality of electrically separated superconducting film parts, each having a rectangular cross section and arranged in parallel, form parallel conductors, providing superconducting wires capable of containing losses incurred in the presence of alternating current (A/C). A superconducting coil is made by winding the superconducting wires, wherein the coil structure contains at least a part wherein perpendicular interlinkage magnetic fluxes acting among conductor elements of the parallel conductors by the distribution of magnetic fields generated by the superconducting coils cancel mutually in order to contain circulating current within the wires and to make shunt current uniform, thereby providing a low-loss A/C superconducting coil.

In one embodiment, a superconducting coil includes a tertiary parallel superconductor unit () composed of superposed in parallel a plurality of layers of secondary parallel superconductor units (). The layers of secondary parallel superconductor units include a plurality of superconductor elements () arranged in parallel along the axial direction of the coil, forming a superconducting conductor unit. The tertiary parallel superconductor unit is wound on a bobbin (). In another embodiment, the superconducting coil includes one or more layers of the secondary parallel superconductor unit wound on the bobbin. In both embodiments, the secondary parallel superconductor unit can include at least one non-superconducting conductor element (). The layer of the secondary parallel superconductor unit forming an outer side of the tertiary parallel superconductor unit can include at least one non-superconducting conductor element. A layer of non-superconducting conducting or high-strength insulating supporting member () of electromagnetic force can be formed on the outer side of the tertiary parallel superconductor unit.

A superconducting laminated oxide substrate, which comprises a laminate a layer of a superconducting oxide crystal substrate made of a superconducting oxide single crystal or a superconducting oxide polycrystal and a layer of a reinforcing crystal substrate, prevents cracks from occurring in the superconducting oxide crystal substrate due to the heat treatment conducted for the purpose of forming an insulation film or a conductor film, and provides easy connectivity between electrodes and wiring formed on substrates located at upper and lower positions.

The present invention provides a tape-form oxide superconductor having a high degree of c-axis alignment and in-plane alignment and an improved Jc value. On a tape-form metal substrate which is non-magnetic or weakly magnetic and has high strength, there are sequentially formed a first intermediate layer wherein YSZ or Zr Rx O particles are deposited from a target with ion irradiation from a direction inclined to the metal substrate, a second intermediate layer of CeO or Y O is formed and an RE Ba Cu O superconducting layer is formed by coating metalorganic salts containing F, followed by thermal decomposition.

Tape-formed oxide superconductor

Methods for implementing production of an oxide superconductor joined member, excellent in electric current transmission performance, without a need of going through particularly complex steps, are provided. When joining together oxide superconductors by use of a solder composed of an oxide superconducting material, a finally solidified portion of the solder is positioned in a region where a transmission path of electric current flowing between oxide superconductor base materials as joined together is not obstructed by, for example, disposing the solder on a face of the oxide superconductor base materials, other than butting surfaces of the oxide superconductor base materials, so as to straddle both the base materials like bridge-building. Current flow is also not obstructed by, for example, shaping junction faces of the oxide superconductor base materials such that at least portions of the butting surfaces thereof are in the shape of sloped open faces, parting from each other. Further, an oxide superconductor joined member is made by joining the base materials with each other through the intermediary of an oxide superconductor, serving as a binder, disposed on at least a face of the base materials, other than butting surfaces thereof.
