A system described herein may provide a technique for allocation and/or preemption of radio access network ('RAN') resources in a wireless network based on Quality of Service (“QoS”)-related metrics associated with User Equipment (“UEs”) that are connected to, and/or are requesting connection to, a RAN. QoS-related metrics may include a network slice, a QoS Flow Identifier (“QFI”), other suitable metrics. A Slice-Based Priority (“SBP”) determine one or more priority (e.g., SBP) values for UEs connected to the one or more RANs, and/or for UEs requesting connection to such RANs. In addition to QoS-related metrics priority values may be determined based on RAN-related metrics, such as Allocation and Retention Priority (“ARP”) values associated with a UE. RANs may accordingly be able to allocate resources, accept or deny connection requests, and/or perform preemption based at least partly on slice-related QoS metrics, thus preserving end-to-end QoS parameters.

Systems and methods for radio access network-level allocation and retention priority based on network slicing

In some implementations, a device may receive cell information regarding a current primary cell associated with a user equipment (UE), wherein the UE is further associated with a plurality of secondary cells. The device may determine, based on the cell information, that the UE is to be associated with a new primary cell, wherein the new primary cell is selected from the plurality of secondary cells. The device may generate configuration information indicating that: a particular secondary cell, of the plurality of secondary cells, is to become the new primary cell, and one or more other secondary cells, of the plurality of secondary cells, are to remain secondary cells. The device may provide, to the UE, the configuration information to configure the UE to communicate via the new primary cell.

Systems and methods for efficiently causing a secondary cell to become a primary cell

A device may receive information from a unified database, wherein the information includes a Service Profile Identifier (SPID); select a Quality-of-Service (QoS)-related identifier (ID) at least based on the SPID; and either map a radio bearer to a flow associated with a User Equipment device (UE) or configure a component to map the radio bearer to the flow. After mapping the radio bearer to the flow, the device may send data from the flow to the UE based on the QoS related ID. After configuring the component, the device may forward the SPID to a second component for sending the data from the flow to the UE based on the QoS-related ID.

Systems and methods for multi-dimensional differentiation of radio access networks

A device may determine traffic information of a user equipment (UE) operating in a first operating mode. The first operating mode may be associated with the UE monitoring a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH), via a first bandwidth part (BWP), according to a first rate. The device may determine, based on the traffic information, that the UE is to operate in a different operating mode including one of: a second operating mode associated with monitoring the PDCCH, via the first BWP, according to a second rate exceeding the first rate, a third operating mode associated with monitoring the PDCCH, via a second BWP less than the first BWP, according to the second rate, or a fourth operating mode associated with monitoring the PDCCH, via the second BWP, according to the first rate. The device may cause the UE to transition to the different operating mode.

Systems and methods for transitioning between operating modes associated with bandwidth parts for efficient battery consumption

Devices, methods, and computer-readable media described herein and provide for sending, by a first wireless station, a suspend message to a wireless station associated with a radio resource control (RRC) session for a dual connectivity (DC) capable user equipment (UE) device that places the DC capable UE device in an RRC inactive mode; storing, by the first wireless station, UE context information from a core network for the DC capable UE device for the RRC session; and evaluating, by the first wireless station, a set of criteria to determine whether to also store the UE context information at the wireless station.

Systems and methods for state context management in dual connectivity network environments

A system described herein may identify Quality of Service ('QoS') information associated with a User Equipment ('UE') that is connected to a radio access network (&#x201c;RAN&#x201d;) of a wireless network. The QoS information may include or may be based on a network slice identifier, a QoS value, a Service Level Agreement (&#x201c;SLA&#x201d;), a model associated with UE attributes, or other suitable information. The system may determine a time division duplex (&#x201c;TDD&#x201d;) configuration for the UE based on the identified QoS information and/or models that associate UE attributes to TDD configurations. The system may implement the determined TDD configuration at the RAN. The UE and the RAN may communicate with each other according to the implemented TDD configuration, which may include particular timing information for uplink and downlink communications between the UE and the RAN.

Systems and methods for dynamic time division duplex adjustment in a wireless network

A wireless station of a radio access network receives a reselection priority value of a frequency band used when the wireless station is an E-UTRA-NR Dual Connectivity (EN-DC) anchor. The wireless station broadcasts an intra-frequency system information block (SIB) that includes a first Cell Reselection Priority information element (IE) and a first Anchor-cell Reselection Priority IE, wherein the first Anchor-cell Reselection Priority IE includes the reselection priority value of the frequency band used by the wireless station. The wireless station also broadcast an inter-frequency SIB that includes a second Cell Reselection Priority IE and a second Anchor-cell Reselection Priority IE, wherein the second Anchor-cell Reselection Priority IE includes another reselection priority value of another frequency band for another EN-DC anchor. Use of additional anchor-cell priorities enable EN-DC-capable end devices to camp on an anchor cell even when a non-anchor cell has a higher conventional priority than the anchor cell.

Method and system for anchor cell reselection with multi-RAT dual-connectivity

A device may receive a request to establish a communication session with a network. The request includes first bearer information regarding a bearer and first network slice information regarding a network slice of the network. The device may generate a first priority value, associated with the request, based on the first bearer information and the first network slice information. The device may obtain second bearer information regarding active bearers associated with existing communication sessions and second network slice information regarding one or more network slices, of the network, associated with the active bearers. The device may generate second priority values associated with the active bearers based on the second bearer information and the second network slice information. The device may compare the first priority value and the second priority values. The device may preempt one or more of the active bearers based on the comparison.

Systems and methods for preempting bearers based on bearer information and network slice information

A network device in a Multi-Access Edge Computing (MEC) cluster is configured to: receive, from a wireless station, information associated with a User Equipment (UE) device that is wirelessly attached to a network through the wireless station and estimate a first time interval to complete a task for the UE device based on the information. If the first time interval is less than a threshold time interval, the processor is to: signal, through the wireless station, to the UE device to be in a connected state; execute the task; and send a result of the execution, through the wireless station, to the UE device.

Multi-access edge computing assisted device state transitions

A base station may obtain information associated with a bearer established for a communication session involving a user equipment. The bearer may be associated with a quality of service (QoS) flow of a network slice and the information may include a QoS flow identifier, a QoS configuration identifier associated with a QoS that is to be provided for communications associated with the QoS flow, and a network slice identifier. The base station may determine a scheduling weight for the bearer based on the QoS flow identifier, the QoS configuration identifier, and the network slice identifier. The base station may cause resources to be allocated to the bearer according to the scheduling weight.

Systems and methods for allocating network resources utilizing bearer information

A system and method provide for receiving an indication that a user device has been inactive; accessing a configuration table; identifying, based on the configuration table, a number of user devices that can be in an RRC inactive state; determining a current number of user devices that are in the RRC inactive state; transitioning the user device to the RRC inactive state when the current number of user devices is less than the threshold number of user devices; determining a priority associated with the user device when the current number equals the threshold number; and transitioning the user device to the RRC inactive state or an RRC idle state based on the priority of the user device.

A device may receive a thermal report from a user equipment. The thermal report may indicate a temperature of the user equipment. The device may determine, based on the thermal report, whether the temperature of the user equipment satisfies a temperature threshold. The device may select a network action to reduce the temperature of the user equipment based on the temperature of the user equipment satisfying the temperature threshold. The device may perform the network action.
